"Why did I even agree to do this?"

You muttered as you walked through the forest slowly.

Let's shed some light into the situation.

~Before you went into the forest~

You and your best friends (female friends) were having a sleepover in Palutena's room. Somehow all of you started playing truth or dare.

You spun the bottle and it landed on Kamui.
"(Y/n), truth? Or dare?" She asked with a mischievous smile.

Oh-no, if you picked truth then she would ask you who your crush is but it was safer then dare but you couldn't pick truth because you weren't ready to reveal that sort of thing.

"D-dare!" You stammered.

Kamui looked surprised before tapping her chin "hmmm...I dare you..."

All the girls leaned forward whereas you leaned backward preparing yourself for the impact.

"...to go into the forest and walk your way to the lake!"
Kamui exclaimed.

Now going to the lake through the forest isn't such a bad dare...if it wasn't nighttime.

"That's a great dare!" Samus exclaimed.

"Isn't it a bit too dangerous?" Rosalina asked. Thank her for that.

"I'm sure (y/n) can do it!"
Reflect said.

"What if she gets in trouble?"
Zelda asked.

"Yeah" Peach chimed in "what happens if (y/n) gets hurt?"

"Maybe I could come with her?"
Lucina offered.
Obviously, she was scared for the life of her best friend knowing you can't handle the dark.

"Gee, if you're so scared then you don't have to do it ya know"
Kamui said "it's just a game"

You gulped. Everyone was sending you a concerned look but you didn't want to be a coward in front of everyone.

A walk to the lake won't hurt right?

"I'll do it" you said confirming your choice.

"Okay then"
Rosalina said handed you a flashlight "just be careful"

"You can always come back if you're too scared, remember it's just a game"
Lucina supplied.

"After you walked to the lake, just wait there. We'll pick you up, or send someone"
Samus said putting a hand on your shoulder.

"O-okay, thanks everyone"

~Back to present~

You shined your flashlight around to see if you were still on track and thank goodness you were.

You shivered "it's getting colder, I must be close"

A harsh wind blew making you hug your arms "I should've brought a coat or at least a blanket" you muttered and hurried to the lake.

In your rush you didn't notice the root in your way and you tripped.

"Ouch!" You exclaimed and got up.
Momentarily you rubbed your ankle before continuing on.

You continued to walk along the path until you felt the ground shake, you turned around to see a clubberskull and some skuttlers.

Thankfully, you had always been a fast runner even if there was a clubberskull chasing you.

You turned and ran.

You were a strong fighter but you left your (w/c) (weapon choice) in your room and you weren't always the best fighter when it came to hand-to-hand combat.

And just your luck, a skuttler cannoneer aimed at your foot successfully tripping you.

You fell on the ground and braced yourself for the beating that was to come as the clubberskull came charging right at you.

(Mwahahaha! I'm so evil! Don't worry, guess who?)

A loud battle cry rang through the woods and Corrin dropped from nowhere and landed just right in front of you.

"C-Corrin?" You asked hoping you weren't already dead.

Corrin acknowledged you with a nod not taking his eyes off the clubberskull.

The clubberskull charged straight for the kill until Corrin quickly took the monstrosity's attention from you and drew it onto himself by slashing it.

"Corrin!" You shouted trying to get on your feet until you realized that the cannoneer's beam shot didn't just cripple you, it broke your ankle.
Despite that your forced yourself to get up and with help of the tree beside you, you managed to accomplish that. Now what?

"(Y/n)! Escape while you still can!" Corrin said graceful jumping over the clubberskull backwards to evade it. With a backflip I might add.

You would've actually did something if you weren't marveling about how graceful Corrin was.

Corrin manage to kill the clubberskull but he was really bruised up.

Corrin ran towards you and held you against his chest before putting his sword up against the skuttlers.

Despite the fact that you and Corrin were in danger, you couldn't help but blush.

"I left my (w/c) in my room" you muttered.

Corrin replied back to you "it's fine, for now we'll have to deal with the skuttlers"

You really didn't want to be a burden. Corrin was having trouble fighting them off because of you, and you didn't want that.

If a skuttler ever got too close-

If another one tried to hit you-

Hack!

Soon they were all defeated, some ran but that was better then having to fight all of them.

Corrin actually managed to pull it off.

Once they were all gone, Corrin started checking your ankle.

"It's not that bad" he said "can you walk?"
You tried to take a step but failed.

"Guess I'll have to carry you" Corrin chuckled "up you go!"

He picked you up bridal style and retrieved your flashlight in the process.

After handing you your flashlight, he set off towards the lake.

"h-how did you know I was here?" You asked.

Corrin brought you closer to his chest "Kamui told me, she wanted me to keep an eye on you just in case"

You gulped and asked "did she tell you everything?"
"She did" Corrin replied.
"Oh..."

Corrin sighed in frustration "it's dangerous to head out into the forest at night, imagine what would've happened if I hadn't come in time"

To your surprise; Corrin's eyes became watery "I would've lost you"

"Corrin..." You tried to get a word in but Corrin was on a roll.
"I would've lost you! You would've died and I wouldn't be able to see you anymore!" He said crying at the croon of your neck.

You pursed your lips, it was true what you did was really stupid but you couldn't help but feel guilty for putting Corrin in a state like this.

You wrapped your arm around his neck and placed your other hand on his cheek which was stained with tears.
"I didn't want to loose you either"

Corrin stopped crying and collected himself "we need to get going, then we can finally complete this stupid dare"

~Skip to the lake!~

"Wow" you breathed out.

The lake was filled with lightning bugs flying around and the water was reflecting the light.

"(Y/n)...please, don't do anything that reckless again"
Corrin said setting you down so you can dip your feet in the healing charged waters.
In no time, your ankle felt better.

Corrin sat beside you and dipped his feet inside as well.

He placed his arm around your shoulders and brought you close.

You smiled at the gesture and leaned on his chest.

Maybe the dare wasn't so bad after all.
