Hayyy. Medyo naiistress ako sa office this past few days. Lagi nalang kasi akong napapagalitan ng board dahil laging nat-turndown ang mga proposals ko.

Tatayo palang ako when someone placed a box on my desk. Wait—

“Wow, you came all the way here just for this?” kinuha ko ito at binuksan. Yum. Chocolate fudge cake.

“Because you’re special.” sabi nito na nagpangiti naman saken. I heard him chuckle. “See, napangiti pa kita. Kanina ka pa nakasimangot habang nakaupo dyan eh.” kinurot niya yung pisngi ko.

“H-Hindi kaya!” sabay irap ko.

“Hindi? Weh. May problema ba? Go on, tell me.” sabi nito saken.

“Wala toh. About sa office lang.”

“Well, tutor mo ako, I can help you.”

“I want to settle this on my own Charlie.” ngumiti nalang ako. He gave up and smiled back. Nakakapagpa-kalma talaga ang mga ngiti niyang yun.

“Omg. Is that you Charlie?”

Nagulat kami parehas at napalingon sa nagsalita. Si Leigh pala toh, kasama din namin siya sa department at anak siya ng isa sa mga stock holders ng company ni Dad.

“Leigh?” nagulat ako ng sabihin ni Charlie ang pangalan niya. Wait—they know each other?!

“Why are you here? Don’t tell me dito ka din papasok as intern for the industry OJT thingy?” hinawakan niya yung kamay ni Charlie at pinagpag yun while she’s all giddy and jumping.

I felt something twitched that made me drop the box of cake sa table. Napatingin silang dalawa saken na masayang nag-uusap tungkol sa school stuffs nila. =_=

“I’ll go ahead. Salamat sa cake Charlie pero nauumay yata ako ngayon.” sabi ko.

“H-Hey, pero—“

“Kung ayaw ni Alexa, eh di saken nalang!” ^___^ narinig kong sabi ni Leigh which made me furious. Nilingon ko siya at ngumiti.

“Wow. You really want leftovers noh? Sige, bye.” tsaka ako naglakad palayo at di na lumingon sa kanilang dalawa.

That Charlie… after all ng nagawa ko sa kanya, she still has the nerve to introduce me as a FRIEND. I thought I’m special?? Kakasabi niya lang kanina and when Leigh comes out of nowhere biglang FRIEND nalang? Is that even right? Is that even LEGAL? My God, ugghhhhh.

Charlie’s POV

Lounge Area. 0623 HR.

I think I did something wrong, right? I’ve never seen Alexa being bitchy with others, I think Leigh and her had something—

“Don’t mind Alexa, she’s just jealous of me.” sabi ni Leigh while eating the cake I baked for Alexa. T_T Grabe, Alexa should be eating that~ aigooo.

“Yung proposals ko kasi yung laging napipili instead of hers. Kasalanan ko ba kung wala siyang alam sa pinasukan niya? Grabe siya, napaka-bitch talaga nung Alexa na yun.”

Okay, seryoso? Ang sarap sapakin ng babaeng toh. Akala ko ang bait bait niya, ang she talks back to my beloved and sweet Alexa like that? What kind of girl is she? -_-

“Bat ang tahimik mo? Tara coffee tayo gusto mo?” niyaya niya ako pero tumayo ako.

Pumasok ako sa department nila, nung una pinagtinginan ako ng mga tao pero they know me kasi lagi akong nandito every Wednesdays dahil nga tutor ako ni Alexa.

I approach her desk na katabi lang ang desk ni Camille na busy sa kaka-Facebook. =_=

“Hey Lex…” I called out softly para di ako maka-istorbo sa iba.

“What?” mataray niyang sagot.

“Look we need to talk… it’s about—“

“You don’t have to explain anything. Kung close kayo ni Leigh, then be it. I’m not forbidding you to talk to her or what okay.” medyo tumaas na ang boses niya at tumingin na yung mga nasa office.

Tumayo si Camille at inakbayan ako. “Cha, let her be. She has PMS.” bulong niya saken.

“What?” nagtataka kong tanong.

“Pademure at Malalang Seloskdjgjsdkskgs. PMS.” bulong niya pero di ko marinig yung dulo.

“Ano yung S?”

“Yeah.” ngumiti pa ito ng mas malapad at tumalon-talon pa, causing her to drop some of her folders. Agad ko naman ding pinulot yun kasabay niya. Kaya lang biglang may tumawag sa phone niya.

“Wait, I’ll answer this first.” sabi niya habang nagpupulot ako.

“Sure, ako ng bahala dito.” lumayo ito at tsaka ko sinalansan yung folders. But while fixing the folders, one paper caught my attention.

Wait, these are all Alexa’s profile? And Alexa’s dad too. Teka, why does she have these?

Napatingin ako kay Leigh na busy sa pakikipag-usap sa phone. What is that girl up to? +_+

Kinalkal ko pa yung laman ng folders, annual gross ng company, major stockholders, investors, pati assets nila Alexa nandito. Pero—

“Okay Dad, ako ng bahala.” narinig kong palapit na si Leigh kaya tinigil ko na ang pagkalkal sa folder and acted normal.

Inabot ko sa kanya yung folder. “Who’s that?” tanong ko.

“My Dad, may sinabi lang saken.” she said. “Naku, sorry, pinagpulot pa kita.” nahihiya niyang sabi.

“No worries. Sige, I’ll go ahead.” sumakay ako agad sa kotse ko at dumiretcho sa FDD. May meeting kami ngayon, kakatapos lang ng previous case namin tungkol sa Arcade Raid kaya may panibagong kaso na naman kaming aayusin.

Inabutan ko dun sina Kenneth at Skyler na naglalaro habang nakain naman si Rima ng pudding. Nung mga nakaraang araw, may LQ yata si Skyler at Rima pero mukhang okay na sila ngayon.

“Cha saan ka galing?” tanong agad saken ni Rima pagkaupo ko sa tabi niya.

“Galit saken si Lex.” I said then pout. Naiiyak ako, ngayon lang ako na-ignore ng ganito ni Lex, it must have been something I’ve done, kaya siya nagalit. Pero hindi ko naman alam kung ano yun. T^T

“Don’t worry Cha, everything will be fine.” Rima said then hugged me kaya lang agad siyang hinila ni Skyler palayo saken. =_=

Nagpunta na kami sa long table kung saan kami nagdi-discuss ng cases. And for the nth time, wala na naman si Chief sa briefing. Yung totoo? Parang di na siya yung adviser ng team, parang si Kenneth na eh. Well, we can handle everything kahit wala si Chief pero iba parin talaga ang buong grupo diba?

“Okay Rima, settle down. Tungkol toh sa isang bagong drug syndicate na kaka-establish lang dito sa Pinas last year. They are one of the black organizations that came all the way from Africa. Knowing this, it is one of the biggest suppliers of drugs. And it means SERIOUS BUSINESS.” Ken emphasized.

Inabot namin isa-isa yung folder na naglalaman ng informations about the mission.

“We need to track down, any of the possible targets that may lead us to the lab or any entity na nagpapatakbo ng sindikatong toh.” He added while we’re scanning the files.

Habang nag-uusap sila, I saw one face na parang pamilyar saken, medyo ikinagulat ko kaya agad akong nagtaas ng kamay.

“Yes Cha? Sorry pero mamaya pa ang break time. We’re just starting.” =_=

“N-No, it’s not about break time.” iling ko. “This… Enrico Buenaventura is one of our target?” tanong ko.

“Yeah. Minor target lang naman yan. Minsan na din kasing siyang naimbestigahan noon dahil may na-raid na shabu lab sa isa sa mga properties niya. Ang alam ko, nakapag-piyansa siya and eventually, binasura ng court ang kaso niya.” sabi ni Ken.

“I know this guy.” sabi ko.

“Huh?” tanong nilang tatlo saken.

“This is Leigh’s Dad…” I choked.

Pinapaikot ikot ko yung phone ko. Thinking twice if I’ll give Lex a call before doing anything tonight. I don’t know if she’ll understand pero I have this feeling na may mali sa mga nangyayari.

“Cha.” tinapik ako ni Kenneth at binigay saken yung isang papel. “Wear your transmitters when I give you the signal. Okay?” bulong nito saken at tsaka siya umalis sa tabi ko.

Binuklat ko yung pirasong papel, nakalagay dun yung restaurant na pina-reserve niya.

I dialed Alexa’s number, gusto ko muna siyang kausapin pero I think I tried it a hundred times pero hindi siya sumasagot. I can’t do this task, what if she misunderstands everything. T_T

I decided to drive by her school para makausap siya personally. Papunta pa lang ako ng parking lot ng sinalubong ako ni Leigh.

“Hey!!! Where are you going?! May isa pa tayong subject ah!” sabi nito habang nakapout.

“Ahhh, dyan lang. May 1 hour vacant pa naman eh!” palusot ko.

I sighed, I guess I will never get to talk to her before my undercover starts… nakita kong nakatayo padin siya so I ignored them and yelled so she could hear me.

Naglakad ito pero huminto din. I heard Cams yelled, “Wag kang lilingon Lex. Go back to the classroom.” pero nagkaroon ako ng pag-asa ng lumingon siya at naglakad papalapit saken.

Umalis sa harap ko sina Cams. Humarap saken ang isang malungkot na Alexa.

“I don’t need your help in tutoring me. I guess I can just hire a trainer for that. Salamat sa tulong mo Charlie. Makakaalis ka na.” sabi niya which made me tremble.

“Nothing. This has nothing to do with you.” with that, umalis na silang lahat at pumasok na sa loob ng classroom. Naiwan ako dun na hindi alam kung papasok pa ba ako ng klase ko o hindi na after what Alexa just said to me.

Pumarada ako sa harap and gave my keys to the valet waiting. I find it awkward being here after what happened a few hours ago at Divine College.

I proceed to the lounge area. Pagpasok ko palang, nakita ko kaagad si Alexa sitting with Cams and having a little chitchat. Napatingin sila saken, Cams having her furious face again. Pero I went straight to Leigh, who was sitting alone and reading a book nasa tabi lang ito ng table nila Alexa.

“Charlie?” nagulat yata si Leigh sa pagdating ko.

“Hey. Remember that dinner? Can I pay for it now?” sabi ko wearing my sweetest smile.

I saw her face glow. “REALLY? Omg. Bat di mo naman sinabi? Di ako ready!” natatawa pa niyang sabi.

“Sorry, ngayon lang ako nagkaroon ng time. So? Is it a yes?” tanong ko.

“Sure, wait. I’ll just get my things!” she said and leave.

Aalis na sana ako when I caught Cams’ deadliest glare. Medyo kinilabutan ako sa titig niyang yun. Parang kakainin ako ng buhay. T^T

Tumayo ito at tsaka kinuha ang bag niya. “Grabe noh Lex? Ang daming PAASA talaga ngayon. Shet, ang sarap ihampas sa pader.” nanggigil niyang sabi. Binilisan ko nalang ang paglalakad palabas ng lounge area. Grabe, parang mapapatay niya ako ng wala sa oras. >_<

Nag-antay ako sa labas, playing my keys, nakita kong paparating na si Leigh. She changed her clothes, kanina naka slacks siya and all the office attire thing, ngayon she’s wearing this sexy black dress na above the knee ang length.

I smiled back. “You’ll see, it’s a surprise of course.” sabi ko then opened the door of my shotgun seat. Pumasok siya dun at naglakad ako papunta sa pintuan ng driver seat.

Agad kong nalagay ng pasimple sa wine glass niya yung tracking chip device habang nasa wash room si Leigh. This will help us track down her location once this crazy dinner date crap is over.

It was all Kenneth’s plan, kaya ngayon galit saken si Cams at pati na rin siguro si Lex. They let me in as an undercover para makakuha ng information tungkol kay Leigh at sa Dad nito.

I saw Leigh come out from the wash room at agad akong umayos ng upo. I opened the wine bottle and poured some on the glass para hindi na nito makita ang tracking chip.

“Wow Charlie, you really have a good taste when it comes to fine dining. I’ve never heard of this resto but they have the best sets I’ve ever tasted.” she said to me after sipping some wine.

“Uhmm, I am the son of an hotelier. What do you expect?” I answered with a smile.

She placed her wine glass back and stared at me while I’m eating. On the contrary, I can’t eat properly because she’s staring at me. =_____=;

“Err, something wrong?” I said nang hindi ko na mapigilan ang awkwardness.

“You know what Charlie, I like you a lot. Inviting me here for dinner means, you like me too right?” muntik ko ng mailuwa yung kinakain ko after what she said, buti nalang nalunok ko agad.

“So, you must be Charlie Barrameda, the future CEO of Barrameda Group. Nice to meet you young lad.” humarap ako and gave him a handshake. Napakalaki nitong taong toh. O__O

“Sure Sir.” hinatid ko sila sa labas ng resto. Naunang umalis sumakay yung Dad ni Leigh. “Ingat ka Leigh.” I said.

“That was a nice dinner Charlie. Probably the best dinner I’ve had in years. Thank you.” she tiptoed and kissed me on the cheeks then ran to their car.

As I watch her car leave, inilagay ko na agad ang transmitter ko at tinawagan si Kenneth.

“Hey Ken. Gumana ba yung tracking device?” tanong ko sa kanya.

“Wait I’m still—bingo! I got it, ang galing mo Cha. Good thing she did not choke on that.” biro pa nito sakin. Agad akong pumunta sa kotse ko at umalis sa restaurant para pumunta sa susunod na location. But inside my head, I’m still hoping Alexa won’t lose faith on me with this.

Alexa’s POV

Outside the very expensive restaurant.

“Cams, umuwi na kaya tayo?” I said.

“Umuwi? Are you blind? That guy just make you paasa with his sweet and charming face tapos iba ang yayayain niya sa isang very expensive restaurant? AND SI LEIGH PA TALAGA! OF ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD!!! Adik ba yang Charlie na yan?” Cams answered furiously. =_=;

“Camille, chill down for a sec okay? We still don’t know the real story.” Ella said.

“Ano pa bang kailangan patunayan ng lalaking yan? Grabe, hindi nga siya basketball player pero malupit din kung mambola!” Cindy replied.

I sighed out of frustration. Ayokong maniwala sa nakikita ko pero everything makes no sense if I keep on believing that there’s nothing going on between Charlie and Leigh. I don’t know anything about those two na magkaklase pala sila and now this happened.

Pinapaasa mo ba talaga ako Charlie? :(

“Pwede ba, sundan nalang natin si Charlie.” Nana suggested. Siya din ang may pakana ng pagsunod namin sa dalawa dito sa mamahaling restaurant.

“What’s the point? They left already.” I said trying to calm them down.

“Oh no! Susugurin ko talaga yan Charlie na yan! May pag-goodbye kiss pa siya!!! I will punch his face!!!” sigaw ni Cams na agad namang hinawakan nila Ella at Cindy dahil nagwawala na siya.

Di nagpaawat sila Camille kaya sinundan parin namin yung kotse ni Charlie. Pero habang palayo kami ng restaurant parang napansin namin na kakaiba na yung dinadaanan namin.

“Hey, are you even sure na si Charlie parin yang sinusundan natin? I don’t know na where we are eh.” sabi ni Cindy. Napalingon kaming lahat sa bintana, this looks like an abandoned port with huge warehouses.

“Oo naman, saulo ko ang plate number ng manloloko na yan noh.” =_=

Huminto si Cams, napatigil tuloy kami sa pagtingin sa lugar ng lumabas si Charlie mula sa kotse na parang may kausap sa phone.

“Is he going to meet some other girl here?” tanong ni Ella.

“Ugh. Ella, stop being so stupid. Who’d want to meet up in a place like this? Huh?” Cams said. Natahimik kami ng may hinugot siya sa bulsa niya and—

“UH-OHHHHH.” biglang sabi ni Nana.

“What? Hey what uh-oh are you talking about?” tanong namin lahat sa kanya.

“I- I don’t think he’s meeting up a girl here.” Nana’s just looking straight from outside kung nasaan si Charlie. And Charlie… holding a gun.

“W-What do you mean?” kinakabahan na si Camille na niyugyog si Nana to answer us straight.

“A-Ate Cams, we better get out of here before I get scolded.” >_<

Sasagot palang si Cams ng bigla kaming makarinig ng madaming gunshots. And as we are all aware mukhang na gets ko na ang sinasabi ni Nana. Pero huli na dahil nasisigawan na sila Cams, Ella at Cindy. Dahilan para mapatingin sa kotse namin si Charlie.

Omg. I think this is a huge trouble. >___<;

“A-Alexa?” sabi agad ni Charlie samin ng buksan nito ang pinto. “W-Wait, what are you—“

“WAAA KUYA CHA I’M SORRY!!! DAMAY LANG AKO DITO WAG MO AKONG ISUSUMBONG KAY KUYA SKYLERRRR OMG!!!” agad lumabas si Nana at yumakap kay Charlie.

“Hoy unanong hilaw! Ikaw kaya may pakana ng lahat ng toh! Halika nga dito ng—“ pinigilan na namin si Cams na halatang napipikon na kay Nana at papatulan na ito.

Charlie pushed Nana inside and closed the door. “Girls, duck and hide yourselves first. Mamaya na tayo mag-usap.” tapos tumakbo siya agad kung saan may mga nagpuputukan.

“What is happening here??!” bulong ni Ella habang nakayuko kaming lahat sa loob ng kotse.

“You better take back what you said Nana or I’ll shave all your hair, pati kilay mo!!!” galit na galit padin si Cams.

“Errr. Kasi—“ mukhang kahit ako di ko maipapaliwanag ng maayos sa kanila ang trabaho ni Charlie. =_=

“Hoy Alexa may alam ka ba dito—AHHHHH!” napatili kami sa mga naririnig naming putok ng baril. OMG. Are we in the middle of some shoot out? >___<

“Hey! Alexa! Ano?” sabi na rin nila Ella at Cindy.

Should I tell them? Uggghh.

“Alex—“

“Charlie is a spy, girls. Jeez. Wag kayong maingay baka marinig tayo okay.” I said.

Halos mahulog na panga nila, I think they’re not convinced. “Pwede ba Alexa this is not the perfect time to joke around. I am serious.” Cams said. Anddd I told you they’re not convinced. =_=

“Alexa is telling the truth…” Nana said in a soft voice. “My Kuya Skyler, Kuya Kenneth, Ate Rima and Kuya Charlie are spies.” nagtago siya agad sa tabi ko.

“So—“

*gunshot*

“AHHHH!” sigaw naming lahat habang nakayuko kami.  I can hear a police siren approaching, thank goodness the police are here. T_T

We held each others hands and waited for everything to be over. Moments later, nagbukas yung pinto. And there nakita namin si Rima.

“You need to come with us.” sabi niya samin.

Nana jumped at her and embraced her while she was crying. “ATE RIMA!!! BEING WITH KUYA ON HIS FDD DUTY IS THE LAST THING I WANT TO DO! SORRY!!!” T____T

I guess she’s pretty scared of all the gunshots we heard. Nang makalabas kami sa kotse, lots of police cars are scrambled at madaming duguan. I tried not to look at them, pero may mga nakakasalubong kami. I wanted to ask if Charlie is okay pero—

“So all you guys said were true? They are spies.” nakanganga nalang si Ella habang tinitignan yung mga police at naka handcuffs na tao na I guess, kalaban nila Charlie.

“This way.” pumasok kami sa loob ng isang warehouse. Andun si Skyler, Kenneth at pati yung iba pang mga police at medical aid.

“May nasaktan ba sa inyo?” Kenneth asked habang naglalagay ito ng gauze sa kamay.

“W-Wala.” I answered.

Tumayo si Skyler mula sa pagkakaupo. “What are you girls doing there in the first place?” humarap ito kay Rima na karga-karga si Nana. “And what the hell are you doing there with them? Huh?” galit na sabi nito.

“I was just—kasi… ano. Pero ano kasi—“

“It’s all my fault po. Pakana ko yun. Nag-road trip lang kami.” Camille said out of the blue. “Kuya ka ni Nana diba? Uhm ano sorry kasi—“

“No Kuya. It was my fault po.” binaba ni Rima si Nana at naglakad siya papunta sa Kuya niya. “We were just following Kuya Charlie. Ako po ang may pakana nun.” :(

Lumuhod naman si Sky at niyakap si Nana. The rest of the girls were emotional. Parang naalala ko yung mga chick flicks na pinapanuod namin every Saturday sa bahay ni Ella eh. T^T

“Grabe, dream Kuya evar.” bulong saken ni Cindy.

Napatigil kaming lahat ng pumasok sa loob si Charlie. May band aid siya sa may upper left forehead. Napakagat labi ako, nakakahiya toh pag nalaman niyang sinusundan namin siya. >_<

“Kumusta si Leigh at yung Papa niya?” tanong ni Kenneth na ikinagulat namin.

“They’re at police custody while on trial. Kumusta dito?” napatingin siya saken.

“Nana brought them here and said that they’re follo—“

“OHHHHMYGOSH LOOK AT THE TIME!!! LATE NA UUWI NA TAYO, TARA GIRLS?” hinila na kaming lahat ni Cams palabas ng warehouse. GRABE NAKAKAHIYA TO DEATH. T_T

“Hey Lex… wait.” I felt someone grabbed my arm. Napapikit ako, he still makes my heart race. Gusto kong umiyak nakakahiya talaga.

Ngumiti saken si Cindy at saka ako binitawan ni Cams, nauna na silang pumasok sa kotse habang naiwan kami ni Charlie dun.

“Look Cha, I—“

He hugged me tight, nakalimutan ko yung sasabihin ko dahil dun. “What were you thinking? You’re almost in danger tapos hindi mo pa ako kakausapin.” he said. Humiwalay siya saken. “Look Lex, I can explain this—“

I immediately place my finger in his mouth para tumigil itong magsalita.

“Cha… I get it. Leigh was your target, so stupid of me not to get that. I’m sorry if I was a bit off and my friends even yelled at you. They’re just being protective of me. And yes, I was jealous. Very, very jealous of you and Leigh. I was afraid to loose someone special like you. I was even more afraid after you asked her out. Akala ko may iba ka ng gusto, kasi diba sabi mo saken gusto mo ako. I thought you got tired of waiting and asking me… I’m sorry.”

“I never get tired of you and I never will Lex…”

“I love you Cha and sorry if I have to see you slip away before I even realize that.” I tiptoed and kissed him. I don’t care if Cams will see this or the others. I don’t want him hanging around with others and I don’t want him not beside me…

Akin lang si Charlie… akin.
