Ben POV
At first, we thought we were dead.
But then Erica got a random painting from the wall and flip in smacked it in the attacker's head. We then ran away. Erica then got some sticky slick solution from her new Utility belt and poured it on the floor. The attackers lunged for us but slipped when his feet touched the sleek.
Bullets whizzed past us as we made it to the other corner. Of the museum. "We need to get the heck out of here!" I said, pumping with Alderline.
Erica didn't respond. Instead, she turned another left and then a right. We entered a maze full of paintings. This would provide some cover for us, but we needed to get out of here, or we'll be toasted.
I heard heavy footsteps as SPYDER agents shoved past old ladies and children. "We have to run faster," Erica said. There was no way I could, because I was running out of energy, but stayed put. I took a deep breath and followed Erica. We ran across the paintings and soon came out of the maze. We took a left turn and saw the exit, only to be guarded by SPYDER agents.
"Aw crap."
We were now cornered.
"Tell us about the treasure," One of the SPYDER agents said.
The security seemed sort of uneasy. These guys weren't real police, but I heard one of them call the New York City Department of Police, which means bad news. In a matter of time, I heard police sirens.
Erica had only one choice to escape: The back of us was a glass wall, so she made a hard and powerful karate kick, which surprisingly shattered the glass wall. I felt like the whole museum was going to collapse beneath our feet, but it stayed put. The SPYDER agents knew they were also in trouble and fled for their lives.
We also fled for our lives as well. Great, SPYDER had ruined our vacation, and now were fugitives, another downer. We've already been fugitives once.
We ran back towards the street into the busy crowds in New York City. This gave us lots of cover from the police department. We then made our way towards the Flear bag hotel, which was a mile away.
We kept on running until the police sirens were almost gone.
"Shoot, we let SPYDER know that we were here," Erica said.
"They already knew here from the start, because they tracked us down, so they already knew."
"I guess your right," Erica replied.
We headed back towards the hotel and began to prepare for our mission, like the early past event was just a gentle jog—instead, some chaos.
We got ready, Mike, Zoe, Me and Erica. Chip looked at us, jealousy forming in his eyes. I felt terrible for him, because all he got to do right now was stay in a fleabag hotel monitoring the bugs.
Great.
Now we all prepared for infiltration. We changed into black suits, which gave us more stealth and durability, but for Mike and me, I don't think wearing the suits gave us no powerups, while Zoe and Erica seemed refreshed and powered by it.
Erica gave us only 60 seconds to wear our utility suits. So we went into our fleabag bathrooms and changed them as quickly as we can. I made it barley with a mere 57 seconds, Mike, however, wasn't lucky. He missed it by 61 seconds and got a whack on the head by Erica. I saw Zoe cringe at the sight of this.
Oof, Zike ships away
Erica said that since SPYDER was here, we decided to be more cautious. She took some rock climbing equipment, which was confusing. She also got a headphone to communicate with Jawa and the others at the fleabag motel.
Anyways, we set off. It was 9:50, and it would take us ten minutes to reach the empire state. The streets were still crowded with tourists, who were riding on taxis, going to the nearest fast-food restaurant, or going towards the lion king show. ;)
And heck, there were so many people that It took us fifteen minutes to get a taxi and ride it to the empire. So walking is always the best choice, but if we tried to walk, or pretty much run, we would be twenty minutes late, so we choose the car option, which also made us late. Well, both sides led to the same conclusion anyway.
We headed towards the empire state building. Erica checked her watch. "Crap were late,"
She then led us to the back of the building, where fewer people would be there. But, it was open to the roads so that people can see us. Thankfully, the darkness covered that problem.
Erica slung her mesh bag over her head, and then she handed us some safety harnesses that she got from target. It was for rock climbing.
I then understood what she was doing and was shocked. We weren't going to enter the building. We were going to climb it.
I felt a chill behind my back. We were going to climb a building that was nearly 1,500 feet.
Erica then gave me this glove-like type with goo on them.
"These are called Stickz," Eric said. "These are for climbing brick walls, but it also works for steel buildings" She gave a pair. And oh boy, was I scared. I was going to climb one of the highest buildings in New York City with a ten dollar Stickz brand, which isn't even used for buildings. Its usually used for wiping off things in your shirt.
But then, in my defense, there were different brands for stickz, which went business a year ago. They had things like edible stickz, mega stickz, and stickz to attract sticks.
This one was called climb stickz. It was in some package. I ripped it open and wore it. There were two pairs—one for the feet, and the other for the hands. I had to take my shoes off for this one.
"Ok, we're gonna climb this building in a couple seconds," Erica said as she faced where the road was. The police sirens were getting closer. They must have spotted us.
"NOW!"
We all started to use the grippings and holstered ourself up. It wasn't easy keeping your body upright when your climbing with cheap stuff. I began to slip a bit, but then managed to control it. We were five feet up now.
Erica was gaining the lead; several feet of gap lay between us.
Now the police and the tourists all saw us and screamed. Some came and looked at us in amazement, like this was a climbing show or something. The police saw us and were enraged.
The got a megaphone and started to yell: "PLEASE DO NOT TRESPASS THE PLACE, COME DOWN AND WE WILL ARREST YOU."
We didn't listen to them anyway.
I then saw a helicopter in the distance, not far away.
It was a military helicopter—the police. But wait a minute. There was no police depo sign on it.
Then, it started to shoot like a maniac.
SPYDER had spotted us.
