Ericas POV

I was heading to the Mess, when i heard my name over the  speaker.

"will Erica Hale report to the principals office please" 

so i turned around and headed to the Idiots  office

the idiot ( aka the principal) was a true idiot. the only reason he got the job was cause nobody wanted it.

When I got there, I pass security. Both I and the guards know I can beat them in a fight any day

As soon as I walked in, I knew something was wrong.

1: Mom was here. 

2: Dad was crying

3: if this was a mission, grandpa would be here.

I scanned the room. He was nowhere to be seen

The director of the CIA was here. 

For once in my life I was confused.

There was a awkward silence. Then dad spoke up. 

" Erica,.... Um.... Um...... "  he stuttered, man he is worse than Paul Lee

" Where's grandpa ? " I asked. I instantly regretted it

dad broke down into more tears. Mom said " Erica, you see your grandfather was on a mission and ..... " mom trailed off

" He was killed. " the director said. 

" Erica I'm sorry... " mom said.

I didn't hear the rest because I turned and ran.

Ben's POV

I screamed and ran.

I was taking professor Crandall s class when he saw me asleep and and pop quized me.

Now I'm running from Ninjas.

Remind me to never fall asleep in Crandall s class.

As I ran through the halls, I mentally said every cuss word I knew. 

I turned the corner.....

 and slammed into something. Some one

I mumbled " sorry" and look up. 

I saw Erica. 

She looked like she was about to cry. I momentarily forgot about the ninjas and focused on her. 

 " are you- " I didn't get to finish my sentence because Erica ran. " Erica! " I yelled

Ericas POV.

I ran from ben. Wow. That hurt.

Stop, I thought. You can't be with him.

Not after Josh. I mean Joshua.

I heard him yell " Erica! " and began to chase me. 

I just ran faster

I eventually lost him after a while of running. Man he got faster

I went to a place I knew no one will find me.

I found the statue of Cesar Alan and twisted his ring. The panel opened. 

I typed in the password. Then door opened. 

I stepped in and flipped the switch. The hall lighted up. 

I walked down the stairs, found a corner and curled in a ball and cried.

Ben's POV. 

I lost Erica. I also lost the ninjas. 

But I cared about Erica more.

I ran around the campus and looked for Erica. I couldn't find her. 

Ugh. I wish I knew a place that only me and Erica knows.

like that, a lightbulb went off on my head. I did know a place that only me and Erica knows.

I know where she was. 

time skip.

I found the statue. I  twisted the ring and entered the code. The door swung open and I heard soft crying.

I walked down the stairs and found Erica curled in a ball and crying.

"Erica? " I asked softly

She uncurled and looked at me. Her eyes were rimmed red. 

I say down next to her and she moved closer to me.

" What's wrong? " I asked. 

she buried her head on my chest an mumbled " grandpa's dead" 

although I slightly hated Cyrus I felt bad for Erica . She was raised by him and spent a lot of time with him

 " I'm sorry Erica " I said. I wasn't lying. I did feel bad. Even if Cyrus treated me like scum.

 She still was crying. I ran my fingers through her hair and pulled her close. 

" Its ok, it's ok Erica " I told her.

I needed a way to cheer her up. At least to stop her crying. It hurt me to see her like this.

I sang softly. 

" I met her on a Monday evening

She was standing outside of the park and ride
And I said, "Hey ma, where you been?"

"Before I have to leave"
