The Cafeteria

Here's chapter three. This one is a little longer. Sorry for the wait. Read away!

3:45 pm
School
Jan. 10, 2019

School ended at 3:30 pm. Everyone went their own separate ways. The boys went to their basketball practices. Some of the girls went to the auditorium to practice for the school play. The rest of the girls went to the bathrooms to use their phones which is a big school violation. I
always hate it when they do that.

One time, I caught them making a full out video about what they wanted to be when they grew up, who they wanted to marry, what they wanted in their mansions, and most annoying of all, how rich they're going to be. I reported this to the principal. I figured if there was anyone who could stop the girls it would be the principal.

Unfortunately, the principal doesn't care about what the girls do or what anyone does. Just as long as they're not bothering her. So instead of punishing the girls, she gave me two weeks of detention for bothering her! I told my parents about this and they were livid. They told my principal that she was wrong for giving me detention.

" My daughter reports a few teenage girls making a video in the bathroom and you punish her instead of them?! What kind of a principal are you?" Mom yelled at the principal.

" I'm the best principal in the entire world thank you very much!" The principal snapped back.

" Students should learn not to bother people when they don't want to be bothered!" She told mom.

" She was reporting a violation! That's exceptional. What if the building caught on fire? Would you give detention to whoever tells you?" Mom said. Her eyes were filled with hatred.

" Yes I very much would! That's what the fire alarms are for! If they don't want detention, then they shouldn't bother me!" The principal yelled back.

They went on like that for hours. Finally, the principal gave up.

" Fine! I won't give your daughter detention. Are you happy now?!" The principal shouted.

" Yes. Yes I am." Mom said cooly. Her eyes were calm now. Then, we left.

Now the girls were doing it again. I heard them in the bathroom on my way to the cafeteria. Now they were talking about their favorite celebrities.

" Who do you think is better: Katy Perry or Taylor Swift?" I heard one girl ask.

"Definitely Katy Perry." One answered.
" Nuh-uh! Taylor Swift." Another argued.

They went into a full argument about two celebrities. I ignored them. I had a meeting to attend to.

I arrived at the cafeteria at 3:50 pm. The cafeteria was dark and empty. Dark because there was no light. Except for the sunlight coming in through the windows.
Empty because there was nothing in it. All of the tables had been put away after lunch. The only thing that was left was a few chairs. I sat in one of the chairs. I was 10 minutes early. So I sat and waited.

And waited...

And waited...

Waited some more...

I'm losing my patience...

I checked the clock to see what time it was. 3:52. It's only been two minutes!
I can't wait here that long. Mom usually picks me up at around 4:10 pm. I looked out of the cafeteria door to see if anyone was coming. The hallways were empty.

I sighed and slumped back into my chair. Maybe it was just a prank played on me by one of the other students. I grabbed my backpack and started to head out the door.

That's when my best friend in the entire world walked in. He had bright green eyes and dark curly hair. He had on a green sweatshirt and jeans. His name is Levi Sacriman.
