I woke up and saw that I was tied to yet another chair. My hands were handcuffed together and my feet were also handcuffed together. They tied a rope around my waist so I couldn't move. I also felt a soft sensation in my mouth. I tried to speak, but I couldn't because the soft sensation in my mouth was a rag that was shoved into my mouth so that I couldn't speak. My shoulder was screaming in pain. I forgot that it was still broken.

I heard a groan that sounded like it was coming from behind me. I turned around and tried to see who it was. It was only then that I realized where I was at.

I was in my school.

I recognized the blue and green hallways. We were right outside the library. The hallways were dark, but I could see just fine thanks to the moonlight coming in through the windows.

The person behind me was my mom. She was also tied to a chair. We were sitting back to back. We were tied together with the same rope.

" Mom? Are you ok?" I asked. She lifted her head up and groaned again. I could feel her pain. Literally.

" Jacie? Is that you?" She asked. I could hear panic and worry inside her voice.

" Yes. It's me." I said. I heard her sigh in relief. " Ok. Good."

A moment of silence passed between us.

" Jacie, do you know who those guys are?" Mom asked. I sighed. Right now would be the perfect time to tell her the truth. " I think I know who those guys are. They're the bad guys." I said. Mom sounded confused. " The bad guys? What are you talking about?" She asked.

" Remember when you asked me how my day was a few days ago and I said that it was interesting?" I asked.

" Yes." Mom replied. " Well, it was interesting because I did meet new people, but I also got chosen to help Levi on a top secret mission from the CIA." I said.

Mom stayed silent. So I went on. " I got knocked out by one of Levi's comrades. They tied me to a chair, and they told me why I couldn't tell anyone about them. Then, I realized the time and I hurried to the main entrance to get to you in time. They followed us home." I said.

Now mom spoke. " Wait a minute. They followed us home!?" She asked.

" Yes. They used one of the school vans. Remember that van that cut in front of us while we were driving home?" I asked.

" Yes." She said.

" Well, that was them. They were the ones swerving in and out of the lanes." I said.

" How old are your friends?" Mom asked.

" Levi is 12. Our other friends are close to our age. Ben is 13, Mike is 13, and I think Zoe might be 12 or 13. I can't remember her age. Erica is 15, I think." I explained.

" They're all teenagers!?" Mom yelled. She was clearly upset about the whole situation.

" Yes. But, we have coverage provided by the CIA. They have our backs." I said.

Then, the loudspeakers came on.

" They won't have your backs for long." A cold voice said from the speakers. It was the same guy from the hospital.

" In fact, they never had your backs. The CIA doesn't care about sending juveniles out on perilous missions. They just do it to use you as bait. They don't care if you get hurt or killed. They just use you to lure us in so that the real agents can do the professional work, and get the credit for it. You and your team are just pawns." He said.

I knew this wasn't true. Even though the CIA has sent out teenagers to do the work that professional agents do, they never sent them without a few professionals to help. Therefore, the guy was just trying to get under our skin. But, I wasn't worried about him. It was my mom that I was mostly worried about.

" Wha-What?" She asked. I felt bad for her. I swear that I will explain everything to her if we make it out of this alive.

" Oh you didn't know? The CIA always does this. They have a whole spy academy that sends out children like your daughter and her friends on very dangerous and brutal missions. I'm surprised none of them have died yet." He said. His tone was cold and taunting.

Mom gasped in horror. " You MONSTER!! How dare you!? You are the most evil person I've ever met!" She yelled at him.

The guy faked being sad. " Ow. That huwts." He said. He even fake sniffled.

I sighed in exasperation. " What do you want with us?" I asked.

" Oh you'll see. This is just the beginning. The main event is yet to come." His voice sent a shiver up my spine. Whoever this guy was is really scary.

" But first, I need something from you, Jacie. Something that you took and gave to your friends." He said menacingly.

I gulped in fear. I knew what he wanted, but I wasn't going to tell him.

" Tell me where the two coordinates lead to, and we just might spare your life." He said.

" No." Was all I said.

" Now now. Be a good girl, and follow the rules. I'm sure mommy doesn't want to see her baby die in front of her eyes." He said.

I heard mom gasp.

" No." I said again.

" Tsk tsk. Such a shame. You know, I was thinking about recruiting you. You could join our side. Take over the world and be rich with us. No more chasing the bad guys. Be the bad guys. After all, it's not like we'll get caught anytime soon. We have coverage from our own agencies across the globe. You could be with us. Just give us the information we need." He said.

" I'll give you 1 hour. Call when you're ready to tell." He said.

The speakers went off, and we sat there in silence. The hallways seemed longer than usual. Probably because there aren't any kids roaming around and breaking rules. It was eerily quiet. Too quiet for me.

" I can't believe someone would do such a thing. How could the CIA do something so cruel. Sending out children on dangerous missions that could get them killed!" Mom yelled, breaking the silence.

" The CIA doesn't do that. They send out children with a few professionals to help them. That's what the academy is for. They train the kids to teach them how to be spies. That's why Levi and the others are on this mission. They got chosen because they are the most competent people in the academy." I told her. I didn't want her to believe that the CIA was an evil organization like SPYDER.

1 hour

I can't tell him where it leads to, but I also can't let him kill me. I'm too young to die. I have a whole future ahead of me. Living for only 12 years was not my life plan. I want to grow up and have a family and be able to do what I want.

Which means there's only one other option.

" Mom, do you have your phone on you?" I asked. I felt mom look around for her phone. Maybe there was a chance that SPYDER didn't frisk mom for her electronics. After a few minutes of searching, mom said, " Yes. I have it."

" Good. Can you try to give it to me?" I asked. I felt her wiggle in her seat a bit. I felt her hand touching mine. Then, I felt the hard sensation of a phone. I inwardly cheered and congratulated myself for good thinking.

My hands were behind my back, so I couldn't text with me hands. So I used Siri.

" Hey Siri?" I asked.

" Yes?" A female robotic voice emitted from the phone. Thank God for Apple.

" Text Levi." I said. Mom had Levi's phone number. It was another precaution his parents did because of his allergies.

" What would you like to say to Levi?" Siri asked.

" We are at the school. SPYDER captured us. Get here in 1 hour. Or else we might not make it out alive." I told Siri.

" Your message says, ' We are at the school. Spider captured us. Get here in one hour. Or else we might not make it out alive.' Would you like me to send it?" Siri asked.

" Yes." I said.
" Ok. I'll send it." She said. I turned off the phone.

" Do you think they can hear us?" Mom asked.

I cringed. I hadn't thought of that. But, no one came on the intercom. Maybe they were all too busy doing something.

" Maybe." I said. But we were safe.

For now at least.

Levi's POV

We got to the hospital, but it was too late. All of the staff and nurses had been knocked out. There were bodies on the ground everywhere. Not a single thing moved.

" No." I said. There was only one group of people that I could think of. SPYDER had infiltrated the building. They must've took Jacie and her mom. I'm not so sure about her dad.

" We need to find out where SPYDER took them. Who knows what they're doing to them now. Why would they take them!?" I yelled. I banged my hand against the wall, creating a fist-sized dent. My best friend was in danger, and I don't even know where she is.

" Woah. Calm down buddy. I'm sure she's alright. SPYDER wouldn't capture her for nothing. There must be something they're after." Ben reassured me. I calmed down a bit. He was right. At least she's not dead.

" They're after the coordinates. They probably know that she knows where the coordinates lead to. But, how do they know is the question." Erica said.

I thought for a while. I tried to think of something or someone that could've told SPYDER about Jacie or the coordinates. I only came up with one source.

" Caleb Bubar. He's the one that discovered the second code. He knew Jacie saw him take it in school, so he asked her what she saw. But she wouldn't tell him. So he beat her pretty badly. But, I came and scared him off. Maybe he ran to SPYDER and told them about her and the codes. Maybe that's how they know." I said. We all thought about my assumption.

I felt a vibration in my pocket. It was my phone. I picked it up and looked at it. Someone texted me.

It was Jacie's mom.

' We are at the school. Spider captured us. Get here in one hour. Or else we might not make it out alive.' I gasped.

" What?" Zoe asked.

" We need to get to my school. Now!" I yelled.

" Why?" Mike asked.

" That's where Jacie is!" I yelled. We all ran out of the hospital and into the van.

Once we were all buckled in, Erica jammed the gas pedal, and we sped out of the parking lot.

But, I realized that we were heading the wrong way.

" Um, Erica?" I asked.
" Hm?" She replied.
" Why are we going this way? Isn't the school that way?" I asked.

She smirked. " If we're going to save Jacie from SPYDER, we're going to need some reinforcements." She said.

" Zoe, call Chip and Jawa. Tell them to suit up. Because they're coming with us." She ordered.

" On it." Zoe replied.

" Why just them? Why not a few other people? We can't just have two people for reinforcements." Mike said.

" I know." Erica said.

Then, she tapped on an earpiece in her right ear (that I didn't even see until now) and said, " Grandpa."

She waited for a reply.

" Yes?" A raspy voice answered from the other end.

" Are you and dad available? We need some backup. A member of our team has been captured by SPYDER. We need all the help we can get." She said.

After a long pause Cyrus said, " Of course your dad and I are available sweetheart. Your mom might be too. We'll contact her. She's been really busy lately. We haven't heard from her in a while." He replied. Erica smiled.

" That's because she's busy kicking the bad guys' ass." She said proudly.

Cyrus chuckled on the other end. " No cursing sweetheart. We'll be ready when you get here." He hung up the phone.

Zoe was finished calling Chip and Jawa.

" Alright. We're all set. First, we'll head back to Spy School, pick up Jawa, Chip, grandpa, and dad. Then, we'll head back to Levi's school and save Jacie and her mom. Finally, we'll shut down SPYDER's plan, and kick SPYDER's butt. Everyone got it?" She asked.

" Yes." We all replied.

" Good." She said.

Then she looked at me. " Let's go save our friend." She said.

" Roger that." I replied.
