Triple preview!!!
I have a feverrrrr. Urgh. I have lots of time to update today, so I present you with a TRIPLE PREVIEW!
Preview number one:
(Ben's POV)
I twisted my wedding ring around my finger vervously, looking at the kind pyschologist who I had gone to see. Dr. Evan's sat patiently waiting for my response, adjusting his rimmed glasses slightly.
"I guess... I guess my anxiety started ten years ago when she died." I answered slowly. "Who? Your mother, or a sister? A relative of some sort?" He asked, adjusting his glasses again and scribbling down some notes.
"No..." I answered, looking down. "Then who?" he asked, calm and patient as ever.
"Erica Hale." I answered, my voice cracking. My eyes clouded with grief, and guilt, and I felt tears pricking at the corner of my eyes.
"What significance was she to you?" Dr. Evans asked. "She... she was the love of my life," I whispered, still fidgeting with my wedding ring.
Erica Hale... the girl I'll love till the day I die.
Because these chapters are so short, I shall be puttting in two for the preview, and thinking about putting out two chapters at a time, as they are rather short.
Chapter two
(Ben's POV)
I knew it was a nightmare. Ever since I came back from Dr. Evans office the flashbacks came back. I was still genuinely terrified of a moment that had happened ten years ago.
I was in self preservation class. "BEN RIPLEY GET YOUR LAZY ASS UP TO THE OFFICE!" the idiot screamed over the PA. I was scared. The idiot had been as rude as usual, but I detected a hint of fear in his tone.
As soon as I walked into the office I knew what had happened. Alexander was clutching Catherine, both of them seemed empty, and tears stained their faces. Cyrus looked defeated and broken. "No... It. NO!" I shouted, tears of my own dripping down my face. "Erica... Erica Hale is dead." the idiot informed me, a look close to sadness on his face.
My body racked with sobs, and I looked up. "It's my fault!" I choked out. "I should've been on that mission... but I had the flu, so I didn't go... I... I should've been there!" I yelled again. I let out a strangled sob. "I... I can't be a spy anymore... not without her... not with what I've done." I whispered. "Very well, we'll release a statement saying you died from a freak accident, and you will be given a new home in Seattle." the idiot said solemnley.
Alexander and Catherine just stood there, not registering a word, empty shells of the people they used to be. I walked away knowing that nothing could ever be the same... I left knowing that I would never be a spy, never see Erica again.
I woke up, my body convulsing with sobs, desperate cries coming from my mouth. "Ben?" Angie asked softly. "Are you okay?" She rubbed my back, and I flinched away from her. I immediately felt bad after seeing her hurt expression, and laid back down into her arms.
I love Angie. I really do. But a part of me will always be pining away for the girl who left me life ten years ago. "I love you Ben." Angie said softly. I closed my eyes, picturing Erica's face with a rare smile after I had asked her out. I still remembered the exact date. It was three months before she had left for her mission. And as much as I denied it, I was never going to let go of Erica Hale.
Second preview:
This is a long one, so buckle up. *this is the highschool AU. They are all the same age, and spyschool dosen't exist.*
Chapter 1
(Ben's POV)
I whistled cheerfully as I walked down the hall, ignoring the stares of the girls who were in my "Fanclub." I also got some glares from people who were in Josh's Fanclub. Josh's name was actually Joshua, but he went by Josh. At this school, Ardview high, girls were either in my Fanclub, Josh's Fanclub, or just wanted nothing to do with either.
Josh was pretty cool, and he was the captain of the soccer team. I was the first sophomore captain of the varsity baseball team ever, and people also admired me for my good looks. I had thick brown hair, and green eyes, which had started out as a light brown and slowly changed into green as I grew up.
Josh was just as good looking, with a mane of dark hair, and green eyes as well. I was an all-A student, and the principal had assigned me to guide a new student because of my outgoing personality.
I opened up the door to the principal's office and scanned the room. There was one kid that had somehow managed to land himself in hot water literally 6 seconds after the bell had rung, and one kid who was sitting moodily with his arms crossed over his stomach. Please don't let that be the kid I have to guide. I prayed.
My eyes flew to the last person in the room. It was a girl my age, who was apparently bored and sat there, her eyes observing everything in the room. I gulped as she examined me from head to toe because she was intimidatingly beautiful, with long raven hair, and piercing ice-blue eyes. But I couldn't really view another girl that way, considering I already have a girlfriend.
The principal noticed me and steered me towards the girl. I sighed in relief. I didn't have the moody boy. I looked around the room and identified the kid in hot water as Murray Hill. Murray was slouched over and had a lazy smile on his face.
I then shook the new girl's hand, shockwaves coursing through my hand as I touched her hand. BEN YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND! I mentally screamed at myself. I smiled politely and introduced myself. "I'm Benjamin Ripley, but everyone calls me Ben." she studied my face before answering. "I'm Erica Hale. Everyone calls me Erica," she replied coolly. I laughed. "I can tell we're going to get along great," I told her. "We'll see," she replied, cracking a small smile.
I offered her my arm like the true gentleman I was, but she just slapped it away. "Ow, Erica!" I exclaimed. Can any of you tell me which movie that was from? I'll give you a hint, the movie is based on a book, and the last name of the character who was doing the smacking is March. Erica is switched out with the name in the actual quote.
I set down the halls, and Erica was given the same schedule that I had so that I could guide her. I showed her where our AP biology class was, which I had with Josh, Mike, and Quinn. I love Glee. I can't help it. I had to name her Quinn.
I walked into the classroom and plopped myself down next to Quinn and Mike. I fist-bumped Mike and kissed Quinn on the cheek. I gestured for Erica to sit near us, and she pulled up a chair next to Josh.
Josh only had to look at her once before immediately starting to flirt with Erica. "Hey there. Are you lost? Because heaven is a long way from here." he said, flashing a ridiculous grin. I rolled my eyes, and Erica did too. A look of shock flashed on Josh's face because he wasn't used to be turned down. I laughed behind my hand, and Quinn giggled a little bit. Mike was stifling his laughter and turning bright red from the effort.
The teacher, Mr. Marinos cleared his throat to get our attention. "I'm sure you've noticed, but we have a new student joining us today, Mrs. Hale, would you please tell us a few things about yourself?" he asked.
She stood up and said "I'm Erica Hale. I'm a sophomore like you guys, I play baseball, and I love ping pong." she sat back down. Every boy in the room was staring at her, already entranced.
Quinn looked a little put-off, so I squeezed her hand in reassurance. Mr. Marinos cleared his throat again. "I will take this opportunity to rearrange the seating." I groaned. Your desk partner was your lab partner for the entire year, and I had luckily gotten paired up with Quinn, who I had started dating at the end of freshman year.
Mr. Marinos walked around the room, pointing to where people would be sitting. I was sitting with Erica, and Josh was sitting behind us with Quinn. Mike was all the way across the room, paired with a girl with brilliant green eyes, who I remembered as Zoe.
Josh tapped Erica on the shoulder, passing her a small note that said: There's a problem with my phone. It doesn't have your number in it. Erica swiftly wrote down a phone number and passed it back to him.
He grinned triumphantly and stuck it in his pocket. "I gave him the phone number to Subway." she mouthed at me, winking. I stifled a laugh, and Quinn looked at us suspiciously. She angled her head one way, observing us carefully. I shook it off and turned back to the front of the classroom. Oh boy, this is going to be a long rest of the year. I thought.
And finally, the 3rd preview:
Chapter one
(Ben's POV)
I crept along stealthily next to Erica, my hand on my gun. A gunshot rang out from behind them, and I immediately twisted around and fired my gun. Someone returned the fire and I was soon lying on the ground, hunched over in pain.
"No... Ben" Erica whispered. I clenched her hand, and my eyes soon fluttered shut. Erica hunched over my lifeless form, crying.
"Cut!" the director screeched. "That's a wrap." I got up, brushing the dust off my sweet utility suit costume. "Nice acting job today," Erica said, all business-like as usual. "Oh, um, thanks, you too." I stammered.
Despite being Hollywood's #1 eligible bachelor, the star of countless action movies, winner of 4 Golden Globes, and 7 Oscars, I was still a nervous wreck around Erica Hale. I acted around her as my Fanclub acted around me.
I watched her turn away and stood there silently as she clasped hands with Joshua Hallal, the villain in the movie. They had been dating for a little over a month, and my heart tightened painfully when I saw them together. I eventually slowly walked away, walking out of the filming studio.
A horde of screaming young women immediately surrounded me, screaming stuff like "MARRY ME BEN!" and "I LOVE YOU!"
I. Hated. Being. Handsome.
I had thick, sandy brown hair and green eyes that had slowly turned green from brown. I had been on the swim team all through high school and college, being the captain on both teams, so I was well-muscled. I had the beginning of some sandy brown stubble on my chin, which was purely from forgetting to shave. I had accidentally started a trend, so now every leading man in Hollywood had light layers of stubble on their chins.
I pushed through the crowd, rather annoyed. "OMG BEN TOUCHED ME!!!!" a hysterical fan shouted. Jesus Christ, this is why fame sucks. I made it to my set trailer and sighed in relief. I sat down and rubbed my eyes.
A second later I got a knock on my door. I peered out curiously, seeing a young man with smooth blond hair and hazel eyes. "Mike!" I exclaimed. "The one and only!" Mike responded, hugging me.
If I'm the #1 eligible bachelor in Hollywood, then he is most definitely the #1 eligible bachelor in sports. He was the starting quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams. When we first hung out together, people went nuts, because the most popular quarterback and the most popular action star were buds.
There were actually several fan sites that shipped us. I'm not kidding. One time I received a letter demanding to know why I hadn't come out to the public, and how I needed to come clean about my relationship with Mike.
I had nothing against the LGBTQ+ community, I just know that I'm straight. After this, I attended a straight ally parade to show that although I was not LGBTQ+, I fully supported the community.
I invited Mike in, and we sat on the sofa. "So, how're things going?" I asked Mike. "Good..." Mike mumbled, but he was blushing, and there was a far away look in his eyes. "Awww, does widdle Mikey have a crush on someone?" I teased.
"How did you know?" he asked. "Just tell me who it is!" I said impatiently. He rubbed the back of his neck. "It's a physical therapist for the Ram's, her name is Zoe Zibbel, and she has the most gorgeous green eyes you'll ever see," he said, his face slipping into a dreamy expression.
I stuck my tongue out. "What about my eyes?" I asked. "Eh, they're alright," he answered. His attention focused back on me.
"So... does widdle Benny have a crush on someone too?" he asked, a devilish look on his face. I facepalmed. I probably should've seen this coming. His devilish smile grew. "Whooo is ittttt?" he asked, drawing out the words.
"Oh, nothing, just my intimidatingly beautiful co-star who happens to be dating the actor who plays the villain," I mumbled quickly.
He looked at me. "So, how did you fall for her so hard? Is there a story behind it?" he asked me. I nodded. "It's a long one though," I warned him. He shrugged. "I've got time." I leaned back, starting from the very beginning.
Be very proud of me guys! This chapter is 2300 something words long, the longest by far. Also, I have a favor to ask of you. It says I have about a hundred views on each chapter, but only a few votes. Please remember to vote, thank you!
