Chapter 23: Back to School

Marinette's POV

I woke up to the sound of my morning alarm. Groaning, I reached for my phone and hit the off button on the alarm. Another day of school, and another day of seeing Adrien!

"Wake up Marinette! You've gotta get to school!" I heard Tikki said.

"Alright, alright," I said as I got up. I went to take a shower, and threw on my usual outfit. Then I grabbed my two bags, with Tikki hiding in one of them, and walked downstairs. Papa was already downstairs, working in the bakery. Mama was in the kitchen, cooking something.

"Oh, Marinette! You're awake!" Mama said, surprised. "You're usually still asleep at this time."

I smiled and laughed. "I'm just feeling excited for the day!" I said. I walked over to her, and kissed her on the cheeks. "Bye Mama, I'm gonna be late."

"Alright, but don't forget to take an apple on the walk to school," she said.

"Okay," I answered. I reached over and took an apple from the bowl on the dining table, and walked out the door. I walked out of the bakery, and towards the school.

As I walked, my thoughts went back to last night. There had been another akuma attack last night. It was about an artist who was misunderstood. A critic had said that he's work was a fake at his grand unveiling, and being a very sensitive artist, he became an artist manic, spraying paint slash glue at anyone who dares to criticize him.

My partner, Chat Noir and I had defeated him easily, and once again, we had to say goodbye. I have always wondered who Chat Noir was behind that mask. But no matter how curious we are, our identities must stay a secret! Or it could jeopardise our safety.

Just as I reached the school, I saw a familiar white limo drove up to the porch of the school. And out stepped... Adrien... His blonde hair glittered in the sunlight as his iridescent green eyes scanned the area. I sighed. He's just so... hot.

I didn't realise I was staring till I heard... "Girl, he's waving! Wave back!"

I nervously waved as the voice told me to do so. Adrien smiled, and walked towards Nino who was yelling, "Bro!"

I turned to the voice. "Alya!"

"Girl, you have got to keep your emotions in check!" she said, face palming.

"I know," I sighed. "But, he's just so..."

"Hot? Handsome? Gorgeous? And perfectly amazing?" she suggested. I turned a little red as I nodded. She chuckled, and we started walking into the school.

As we walked in, I heard many of the students whispering something. Just then, we walked past Chloe and Sabrina.

"Have you seen the new students? Those four are hot!" I heard Chloe said.

Alya and I exchanged a look as we walked on. We saw Kim and Max by the side, and headed towards them. "Hey Kim, hey Max! What is everyone talking about?" I asked.

"Haven't you heard? 8 new students have just joined the school!" Kim said.

"8? Wow... that's a big number," Alya commented.

"Yeah, and they're all in our class," Max said.

"Really? Well, we better go give them a warm greeting then!" I said, and we all walked to class. Inside, we took our seats, I sighed as I saw Adrien in front of me. How I wished he would just notice me, like how Chat does...

I looked to the front, where our teacher had just entered. "Alright class, today, we'll have 8 new students with us, children, please come in," she said. And in walked 8 students. 4 girls and 4 boys.

We looked at them as they introduced themselves.

"I'm Elizabeth Winters," one of them said.

"I'm Annabeth Winters."

"I'm Jackson Anderson.

"Flynn Rider."

"Paige Chester."

"I am Christopher Hopper."

"I'm Harry Hasson."

"Mary Wilson."

"Welcome to the class! Now, please take a seat at the back. And now, class, please take out your textbooks and turn to chapter 7," the teacher said.

The 8 of them walked past us, and took the empty seats that were placed at the back. I turned to the front, and sighed as I watched Adrien's hair.

Merida's POV/Mary's POV

Ugh... School. Why are we back in school? I hate school. School is bad. It's like living hell. It's the worst place. We've already graduated from school, why are we still here? Oh wait, right, for a mission.

I sighed as I listened to the teacher talk about something.

I was sitting next to Elsa, I mean Elizabeth. Paige and Annabeth were sitting in front of us. To our left, are Jackson and Harry; while in front of them are Christopher and Flynn. Apparently Flynn got to keep his own name...

I was wearing a black jacket with a dark green shirt, and jeans and sneakers.

Elizabeth was wearing a white vest, and a blue dress with heels.

Annabeth was wearing a pink dress, similar to Paige's, except Paige's is purple, and they were both wearing flats.

The guys were all dressed pretty similarly. Jackson was wearing a dark blue jacket with a white shirt, with jeans, and sneakers. Apparently, the winter couple has the exact same taste.

Christopher was wearing a grey hoodie, and jeans.

Flynn was wearing a black shirt, and jeans.

Harry was wearing a brown jacket and a light green shirt on the inside, and jeans.

Apparently, all the guys like wearing jeans, and sneakers too.

I scanned the class. This class looks so weird. Everyone was so colourful... There is big guy with a yellow tip on his black hair. And there was another athlete guy wearing red. There was a girl with purple hair, and a small blond who wore pink all over.

Then, something caught my eye, a blond sitting at the front. Even though I can't see his face, he looked really familiar. Like I've seen that hair before... I slipped my hand into the pocket of my jacket, and pulled out the photo that Adgar had given each of us. The picture of Chat Noir and Lady Bug.

I looked down at Chat Noir. That hair... It looked just like the guy's hair at the front. Adgar did say that these two heroes were suspected to be in high school.

I nudged Elizabeth. She looked at me questioningly. I showed her the photo and gestured to the guy at the front. Her brows furrowed as she look from the photo to the guy. "You think he is Chat Noir?" she asked quietly.

"I think so," I whispered back.

"We can't be sure," she said.

"Time for a little investigative work then," I smirked.

Just then, the teacher, Ms Bustier, I think... said, "Mary! Would you please answer question 9?"

"Uh..." I said as I stood up. Now, this, this is the reason why I hate school. I never pay attention, and thus, I never know what to say whenever the teacher calls on me.

I looked around, and saw everyone looking at me. I saw Harry holding out the number 4 with his fingers. "Um... 4?"

"Correct," Ms Bustier beamed.

I mouth a 'Thank you' to him as I sat down. He grinned and I could feel my face heating up. Great.

I could sense that Elizabeth was smirking. "He likes you..." she said in a sing-song voice. Then I heard her say something else. "You like him," she whispered.

"Oh shut it," I mumbled. She giggled as turned back to the front. Okay, maybe I do like Hiccup.

Anna's POV/Annabeth's POV

After Miss Bustier's class, it was actually music class. We filed into the music room along with the whole class. The teacher, whose name I cannot remember, smiled sweetly to us.

"Alright class, we're going to be doing singing today. Who would like to go first? You can go in groups if you like," she said. At that, I turned to look at Elizabeth and the boys.

"You five should go! You would totally bring the house down!" I said.

"What do you guys think?" Elizabeth asked.

"Why not?" Jackson replied, smirking.

Then they walked up on the mini stage, and grabbed the mics. Everyone looked at them. Elizabeth looked at the four guys, as if asking a silent question. They seemed to have agreed on something through some telepathic conversation.

Then, Kristoff, I mean, Christopher starting making some noise out of his mouth, only it wasn't noise, it was like a beat. Beat boxing! Then they all started singing. Oh. My. Gosh. They were doing A Capella!

"Whoa..." That was the first thing that I said when they finished. That. Was. Amazing!!!

"You guys were awesome!" Paige exclaimed, hugging Elizabeth. She laughed.

"Yeah, you guys were pretty amazing! Good job!" A girl with dark blue hair came up to us. She looked really familiar though. "Hi! I'm Marinette! And I would like to say welcome to our school!"

"Amazing job you 5, now, who's next?" the teacher asked.

"Adrien would like to go!" a dude with a cap shouted, pushing a boy with blond hair up the stage.

"What? No I don't! Nino!" the guy, Adrien protested.

"Marinette would like to go too!!" a girl with red hair exclaimed

"Alya!" Marinette said as she struggled against Alya's strong grip while pushing her up the stage.

"Great! A duet!" the teacher clapped.

"What?! No!! Adrien should be singing with me!" a snobby looking girl with blond hair said. "Not that dumb Marinette!"

"She's not dumb," Adrien defended her. I saw Marinette blushing as she stood next to Adrien. Adrien was rubbing the back of his neck as he said, "Besides, we don't have a song."

"Oh, we do!" Alya and Nino said. Alya passed Nino a CD, and Nino went up to the Karoke set, to put the CD in. "It's the song we wrote for Lady Bug and Chat Noir. Marinette and Adrien wrote it with us! They know it."

"No!! It should be me and Adrien up there!!" the girl yelled again. Then, a girl with pinkish red hair, Alix I think, shouted.

"No one cares Chloe! And besides, you have a terrible singing voice."

"What?! How dare you! I have a wonderful voice! I-," Chloe was about to say more, but the sing started, and Marinette and Adrien were holding the mics.

Third Person's POV

Everyone watched as the two on stage awkwardly held their mics. But when Marinette started singing, everyone was captivated. Even Adrien.

Everyone loved the chorus. And Alya had started singing with Marinette from the ground. Then it was Adrien's turn to sing.

Marinette blushed as she sang this. She had written this, writing about her feelings towards Adrien. Alya and Nino thought it was just a assumption that Ladybug was in high school, which was right.

Marinette:

It was Adrien's turn to sing again, and felt awkward singing this. He had written this, saying out his feelings for Ladybug. Marinette had been rather miffed by the fact that Chat Noir was in love with Ladybug, but the 3 of them had shrugged it off, because it was so obvious that Chat Noir like Ladybug.

Adrien:
I am the cat, just chilling out.
But in the night, she's all I think about
I feel so strong, when she's around.
She picks me up when I am down.

Everyone cheered as the song ended. It was a great song, and everyone was patting the four, Marinette, Adrien, Nino, and Alya, on the back.

Adrien had the strangest feeling. It had felt like he was really singing with his Lady. He looked at Marinette, who was bright red. She had a great voice that was for sure.

The 8 were looking upon this, and have all reached a decision. They've found the two heroes.

Adrien: He probably is too lonely, and that's why he's in Paris. To find his soul-mate.
