a hole found
itself buried deep
within my chest when
the only thing that meant
anything to me was yanked away

by a golden light, as though this was

the rain came down harder
and my red rain coat slid off
my shoulders and into my hands
come at me, i told the monster, in my head
come at me, and learn that there are
consequences for your actions

i've got hold of its horns now
its growls, louder than a
semi's bellowing horn, 
fill my ears when i yank one off
and leap, landing in the wet grass

my chest heaves
my heart aches
my fingers tremble
and a cloud of grey dust envelopes me
as i destroy the very being which took
everything away from me
