Chapter 12
"Roman, where are you going?" Theodorsia asked, not even looking up from her mending. Roman paused mid-stride and stumbled forwards.
"Uh... out on my rounds?" He said.
"Not gonna happen." Theodorsia said, putting her needle down and looking at her son. She cut Roman off before he could whine. "You're ill, Roman. You're not going anywhere until you're better. Until then, Remus will take care of the deliveries."
"But I'm perfectly better, mum!" Roman protested. "Look, I'm out of bed now! See, I'm completely-" He sneezed. "Better."
Theodorsia raised an eyebrow. "Please, mum?" Roman asked. "I haven't seen Logan in ages!"
"Roman, you're pale as anything." Theodorsia said, standing up and starting to usher Roman away from the door. "You aren't going anywhere, Mister, not until you're definitely better."
"But I am!" Roman whined. "Logan's medicine's been helping loads!"
"I won't deny that." She said. "But you're still not better."
"Then when will I be better?" Roman asked before sneezing again.
"When there's some colour back in your face." Theodorsia said. "Now, Remus is going to go out on your rounds for you, okay?" Roman crossed his arms and pouted but sensed there was no sense in arguing with his mum. "Where is Remus, anyway?"
Roman shrugged and trudged up the stairs. "Probably with the tailor's boy."
"Oh, Virgil!"
Virgil tried not to smile and bent a little further over the shirt he was sewing buttons onto. There seemed to be about a million buttons for this shirt.
"Virgil?!" Virgil bit his lip, giggling. "Hey! Virgil?! It's me! Remus Winston?! You know, your boyfriend?!" This made Virgil laugh out loud.
"No need to tell the whole world, Rem." He said.
"Ah ha! I found you!" Remus declared, running around the back of Virgil's house. Virgil didn't look up at Remus and morphed his face into a look of intense concentration recently broken.
"Oh, hey Rem. I didn't hear you."
Remus laughed and threw himself down next to Virgil, lying on his back so he could gaze up adoringly at the other boy. "Liar." He said, scrunching his nose up. "I heard you talking to me."
"I swear you have super-human hearing." Virgil said. "But fine, yes, I did hear you."
"So?" Virgil looked down at Remus.
"So what?"
Remus jumped up and sat on the arm of Virgil's chair. "Do I get a kiss or not?"
Virgil rolled his eyes fondly and gave Remus a soft kiss on the nose. "Satisfied?" He asked.
Remus shook his head. "No! A proper kiss!" He demanded. Virgil laughed.
"Let me finish this shirt first, Rem." He said. Remus sighed dramatically but didn't say anything. He liked watching Virgil concentrating, anyway. Virgil always looked so cute when he was focused on something. Then again, Virgil always looked cute.
Eventually though, Remus got bored of waiting. "Kiss now!" He said. Virgil shook his head.
"Rem, I've only got one button left to sew. I'm sure you can wait another half a minute."
Remus shook his head. "No, I can't." He said decidedly before pulling Virgil forwards by his jacket and kissing him. Virgil laughed into the kiss and cupped Remus' face with his needle-free hand.
"You're an idiot, Rem." He muttered. Remus pulled back and grinned.
"I know."
Dukexiety. That is all. I had no ideas so you get Dukexiety.
Bye,
Blaize
