Aqua: WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU BROKE YOUR ARM?!?!

You were literally stunned for a moment from the sudden reaction of Aqua's sudden scream. In fact, everyone in the guild hall practically turned around to investigate the commotion until they realized that it was your group and continued to go about their day.

(Y/N): Shattered actually.

Megumin: I doubt that makes it any better.

Kazuma: Least he secured a good amount of money from it.

(Y/N): What he said, it should hold out until the current situation is dealt with.

Aqua: Well you do make a point but still...!!

She simply gestured at your arm, which is still wrapped in a sling.

(Y/N): Yeah, I know.... Sorry for making all of you worried!

Kazuma: *in thought* I swear, even before this world, he was already difficult to read! It was hard to even predict his behavior because he always finds a way to surprise us!

The brown haired teen simply watched as Aqua brought fourth her staff and attempted to heal your arm.

Aqua: This should fix you up!

Upon casting a healing spell, you watched as your arm began to glow very bright for a few moments. Once it was finished, the light disappeared and everyone began to wait in anticipation.

Aqua: There! All done! I'll make sure to deliver the bill later!

Megumin decided to be the one to test the results by giving a simple nudge with her elbow however...

(Y/N): FU-

Luckily, Kazuma coveted Megumin's ears in time as you practically fell to the ground in pain and began to scream as many curse words as possible.

Megumin: I'm so sorry!!!

Kazuma: More importantly, why didn't the healing work?

Aqua: How should I know?! Let me try again, I'll give it my all in this one.

Kazuma helped you stand back onto your feet and Aqua began to cast the same healing spell, using more magic into this one. Even your arm was glowing much brighter than before until the spell finished.

Megumin: ... Well? How does it feel?

Unfortunately, Aqua decided to move your arm with her staff, which prompted you to fall over in excruciating pain.

(Y/N): No more! Please no more! *sniff*

Kazuma: Are you... Crying?!

(Y/N): Kazuma this fucking hurts!!

Kazuma: Sorry... Here, let me help you up.

Once you were on feet, again, Aqua apologized over and over for triggering the pain as well as for the failed healing.

Aqua: I'm so sorry!! Please forgive me!!!

(Y/N): I'm not going to hold a grudge! You're forgiven! Why don't I just let this heal naturally?

Megumin: It's still very strange that a healing spell from an arch-priest isn't enough... Hmmm...

You were quite intrigued by the mystery since healing spells never failed you in the past.

(Y/N): *sigh* Can we just get something to eat, already? We can worry about this later...

One Week Later

(Y/N): I thought I told you to lighten up on her!

Megumin: You really did a number on her this time. Instead of unloading like that, you should try to be more tactful.

Darkness: Everyone needs to vent sometimes. If ever you feel stressed again, feel free to tear into me! I wouldn't mind!

This made you raise an eyebrow as she was practically drooling from her own suggestion. Meanwhile, Kazuma figured out Aqua's antics as she raises her head for a brief moment and immediately returned to sobbing on the table.

Kazuma: *in thought* You little faker!

Darkness: You too (Y/N)!! Surely you must be stressed out by this as well! Feel free to lash out at me!

(Y/N): Not gonna happen!

Luna: Emergency! Emergency!

Everyone turned towards Luna as she called out to everyone in the hall.

Luna: We need all adventurers to arm themselves immediately! Make your way to the main gate and prepare yourselves for battle!

Everyone, except your group, immediately ran towards the gate before your party decided to move as well.

Megumin: What could it be this time?

Kazuma: Heck if I know, as long as it isn't cabbages again...

(Y/N): She sounded pretty serious so I guess not.

Kazuma: You sure about heading out there?

He gestured to your broken arm as all of you walked side by side.

Darkness: He's right, you need to be resting due to your condition.

(Y/N): I have another functioning arm, don't worry about me!

Unfortunately, the local crimson demon decided to give your broken arm a light whack, which brought back the pain from the previous week.

(Y/N): MOTHER OF-.... What was that for?!

Megumin: Everyone is right, you should stay out of this one.

Aqua: Yeah... And for some reason, my healing spells won't work on you! Who knows if you'll be in a worst state if things get ugly!

Your entire team simply gave you a specific look that made you sigh in defeat.

(Y/N): *sigh* Alright fine, you win. I'll just go back to the guild hall so you can find me once this is over with.

You turned around and slowly made your way to the guild hall with a small smile on your face.

(Y/N): *in thought* Almost forgot what this was like...!

Megumin: We'll be back soon, hopefully!

(Y/N): Yeah, Yeah.

You simply waved back as they made their way towards the main gate while you walked towards the guild.

A Few Minutes Later

Barmaid: So you're really not going out there.

(Y/N): Not like I have a choice.

You took a sip of your ale as you were patiently waiting in the empty guild.

Barmaid: I think it's sweet that your friends are looking out for you!

(Y/N): Either way... I just feel like I could at least help out somehow.

You only slightly shook your head before taking another drink and simply sat in silence.... That is until you felt a sharp pain in your chest and nearly fell back.

Barmaid: Oh no, are you okay?!

(Y/N): I'm fine... *urgh*...

The pain remained however, you decided to take the moment to leave.

(Y/N): I'm gonna go lie down... Somewhere...

The barmaid only watched as you left a small amount of money to pay for the drunk and slowly walked out of the guild. She couldn't help but grow worried as it seemed as if your eyes were beginning to glow before turning away.

Meanwhile, you felt a burning sensation build within your chest as you decided to make your way towards the main gates.

(Y/N): ... Wonder what's taking them so long...

???: You're not going out there, are you?

(Y/N): Hm?

You turned around to find none other than your ex fiance standing behind you with a worried look.

(Y/N): Not exactly what I had in mind but I just wanted to sure of something.

Snow: Like what? You can't risk going with your current condition.

(Y/N): *sigh* I don't exactly plan on fighting, I'm only going to make sure my friends don't try anything weird again. Besides, you shouldn't have to worry for me, worry about yourself.

The girl only watched as you simply continued walking towards the main gate. She sighed to herself as she decided to follow in your tracks.

Moments later, the white haired woman was unable to believe the sight in front of her as Darkness was on another one of her "moments".

Snow: What are we witnessing?!

(Y/N): Ya know, I really wish I could tell you.

Darkness simply ran towards the dullahan as if she was expecting to be taken away for... "Sexual Acts". It was quite amusing to you since you currently held a grudge against said enemy. Unfortunately, your current condition left you nearly useless since it would be difficult to take revenge on one of the demon king's generals.

(Y/N): I'm not gonna lie, this is pretty fun to watch.

Kazuma did his best to hold back Darkness since the blonde woman was practically making the Dullahan uncomfortable.

Snow: How can you say something like that so casually?!

Even the crowd in front of you had the same thoughts as a few of them slightly turned their heads to hear your answer.

(Y/N): You get used to it...

Fortunately, the dullahan walked away from the scene after his speech and left Megumin to collect her thoughts.

Snow: So... Is he gone?

(Y/N): I don't know... He's staying at a castle nearby so he isn't completely gone... Why, you expecting someone?

Snow: Well it's just.... I've been meaning to tell you something all day...

(Y/N): And what's that?

Snow: ... Once the roads are much safer... I'm going to be leaving Axel and moving back to my home town.

This left you quite surprised as you looked her to find her looking down as she twiddled her thumbs.

(Y/N): Well... As long as you think it's best for you, I'm not going to be getting in your way if it's something you want to hear.

Snow: Truth be told, I didn't want to disappear one day without you knowing since...

(Y/N): Yeah, I know... Do you still feel the same way about me?

Snow: ... Admittedly, yes.

Suddenly, the crowd of asventurers started cheering as if the odd display was enough to repel the Dullahan.

Snow: Even recently, I can't help but feel as if something about you has changed. Almost as if you're more at peace with your new friends.

(Y/N): What makes you say that?

Snow: It's difficult to explain... However, I do need to head back before it goes back to being another day!

(Y/N): O-oh, see ya later! Guess you don't want Granny Val hunting you down, herself!

The woman only smiled before jogging back to her current home.

Megumin: Oh, who was that you were speaking to?

Your friends startled you as they approached from behind and watched as a head of white hair disappeared behind a building.

Kazuma: Let me guess, it was your ex.

Darkness: Oh! It's the one you spoke of!

Aqua: I always found it weird that we haven't even met her... What are you hiding from us, (Y/N)?

(Y/N): I'm not hiding anything, you just have bad timing.

Megumin: If anyone has bad timing, it's probably you. I thought you were going to wait for us at the guild.

(Y/N): Chill, I only wanted to see what was going on! Besides, you all seemed to have somewhat handled the situation.

Kazuma: *groans* Don't get me started...!

Darkness: He did say that he'll return in a week... *pant* Who knows what he'll do once he finds out that I'm still alive!

The blonde's usual fantasies gave you an uneasy feeling as Megumin simply looked down in disappointment.

Megumin: ... To think that one of the Demon King's Generals was living in the same castle that I used for target practice...!

Kazuma: Yeah... Who knew?

Aqua: Cheer up, Megumin! At least we won't have to worry about him for now!

Kazuma: For a week.

(Y/N): I'm sure we'll have something figured out by then.

Nearly a Week Later

Kazuma: ... This place is a total rip off!

Kazuma watched as Aqua was practically sprawled out all over the stack of hay, snoring as she continued to sleep.

(Y/N): It's never exactly a perfect start.

You were walking back inside the stable with a mug of coffee in your hand.

Kazuma: And I'm sure you didn't start with a useless goddess!

(Y/N): That may be true however, I was in a rocky start myself when I first arrived. It definitely wasn't easy to finally get a proper beginning.

You took another sip of your hot beverage as you carefully approached the sleeping Aqua and placed a piece of cookie close to her mouth. It was quite amusing to watch her quickly eat the quick snack in her sleep while you were recording the whole thing.

(Y/N): It definitely has its moments.

Kazuma: ... *sigh* At what point does the adventure start?

(Y/N): Who knows? Maybe we'll catch our big break pretty soon. Or perhaps you want to take one of those really dangerous quests clogging up the board.

Kazuma: Yeah, I'm not risking my life over those quests...

The slumped teen looked over at the sleeping Aqua, who was snoring loudly, and continued with his own mental rant as you retrieved your coffee after the small prank.

(Y/N): Whatever, man.

Small Timeskip

Aqua: I'm tired of broke! I can't live like a povert!

Aqua proceeded to slam her hands onto the table while the rest of you sat in boredom.

Aqua: Let's go do apoverty! I don't care what! I don't care if it's hard! I want money!

You simply cleared your throat as you very slightly moved the broken arm that is currently held by a sling.

Darkness: Well, I would not mind a hard quest.

Next thing you knew, Aqua began crying onto you as she began ranting about no longer wanting to work a part time job.

Aqua: I promise I won't slack off! I'll be a good party member!

Kazuma: *in thought* How can a goddess be so pathetic!

(Y/N): Aqua! You're clinging onto my arm!

It was obvious that her sobbing drowned out your pained cries as tried to shake you by the arms.

(Y/N): HELP!

Kazuma simply stepped into and pulled her away from you.

Kazuma: Alright, sooner or later I'm going to run out of money too! What the heack, go pick out a quest and we'll go with ya!

Aqua: Yes, sir!

The blue haired goddess hurried to the board in glee while the others watched and turned back to Kazuma.

Megumin: I can't believe you're letting her pick out a quest. I get the feeling we'll end up with something horrific.

Darkness: I definitely would not mind a quest like that!

(Y/N): I would.

Out of fear, Kazuma quickly ran towards the board to ensure that his parry member would not choose something much more difficult than anticipated.

Megumin: You have something one handed, right (Y/N)? You did say that you have a collection of weapons.

(Y/N): I do, luckily I'm able to regain some of the abilities I've had before.

Megumin: Just out of curiosity, what skills do you have? When we met, you were a simple adventurer with a messy skill set... And a lot of them were locked behind some requirements.

(Y/N): Hmm... Better if I just let you read them.

You retrieved your guild card and set it on the table for the other girls to read.

Darkness: Wow, you have a wide variety of abilities! And even your classes... "Active Switch?"

Megumin: Strange, it there isn't a description option... (Y/N), what does this mean?

(Y/N): I don't know myself... It randomly popped up recently when I escaped a dungeon right before I met Kazuma and Aqua... The same one where I thought the rest of my friends had died...

Truth be told, even you were unable to think of any reason as to why the mysterious ability has appeared.

Megumin: Sword Master... Assassin... Battle Mage... and Guardian... There's one more but it's currently marked as unknown.

Since you weren't in battle, Megumin was intrigued of the stats changing whenever she switched the classes. She was also enjoying herself watching your aura change color as she kept flicking her finger at a faster pace for her own amusement.

Darkness: Were you not able to become a Crusader? I'm sure they'd accep-

(Y/N): Nope, not my thing. Besides, I don't wanna become a weirdo like you.

You swore that you saw her spasm as she blushed in pleasure of your words.

Darkness: You didn't have to take me by surprise like that~

Once Megumin was finished looking over your card, she handed it back and you set your class to Assassin since it would not put any strain on your broken arm.

(Y/N): I'll just stick with throwing knives or something until I'm better.

Darkness: *pant* The sensation you must have felt when your arm was trapped under the monster's foot. You must tell me the story again, please!

(Y/N): Wha- What kind of life did you live before this?!

Kazuma: Alright, we're leaving!

The two have returned with their new quest adjective although, Kazuma continued walking to put his own plan into motion.

(Y/N): Oh nice... Wait right now?

Kazuma: Yup, let's go. I've got an idea to keep Aqua safe while she purifies a lake.

Darkness: Purifying a lake? Is that the quest we're taking?

Everyone followed behind aa the quest is now underway.

Megumin: Well that hardly seems difficult, especially since I can't exactly blow anything away with my magic.

Kazuma: Don't need to, she's going to do this all by herself.

Aqua: C-can I ask what this idea is? *nervous laughter* I mean it won't be that bad to watch over me while I purify the lake!

(Y/N): Hm... Something's tells me that it is.

Aqua: Quiet you!

Another Timeskip

Aqua: A-are you sure about this?

Kazuma: What are you worried about? You're perfectly safe in there. Don't tell me you're getting cold feet, now.

At the moment, Aqua is currently sitting in a metal cage that is being transported by horse. Everyone else walked along side the cage while you were lying in the small spot behind the cage, taking a nap to make the travel seem faster.

Aqua: No I'm not, I just feel like some rare monster being carted off to the circus.

(Y/N): *snore* Like an elephant...

Aqua snapped her head towards you in anger, only to realize that you were simply still asleep.

Aqua: *whisper* You're lucky that you're asleep!

Exploration Quest!

Purify the Riverhead Lake!

(Y/N): Go on, eat up fella! You must have be a little worn out from hauling the cage over here!

After a bit of traveling, the party had arrived at the lake and set up Aqua's cage in the shallow part so that she may begin the purification process... By simply sitting on the water...

While Kazuma had questioned her method of Purifying the lake, the other girls were simply watching if the lake was being purified. On the other hand, you were feeding the horse an assortment of fruit as a treat.

After a few minutes, you decided to sit against a tree, under the shade, and watched as Aqua sat in the cage. Kazuma called out to the goddess for reassurance however, you were growing bored and began to feel drowsy.

(Y/N): I'm just going back to sleep. Wake me up when something happens.

After closing your eyes, you slowly drifted to sleep as everyone continued to stand and watch Aqua.

Two hours have passed and yet, nothing had transpired as the blue haired girl sat in the middle of the cage. The others stood in the same spot while you were still sleeping under the tree.

Kazuma: *in thought* At least someone is enjoying himself...!

(Y/N): ... A fairy... *light snore*

Megumin: Wonder what he's dreaming about...

Aqua: *in the distance* KAZUMA?!?! SOMETHING IS COMING OUT OF THE WATER!!!

In the lake, a group of horrific looking alligators surrounded the cage as Aqua began to panic.

Aqua: KAZUMA!!! (Y/N)!!!!

Meanwhile..

(Y/N): So pretty... Yuk-.... *yawn*

Unfortunately, you were still asleep as a light blush began to form on your cheeks.

Darkness: I bet he's dreaming about something so vulgar! And I must be in it bei-

Kazuma: Can you not?!

Megumin: Maybe he's literally in a whole other world.

Without warning, the monsters began to attack the cage with a screaming goddess trapped inside.

4 Hours into the Quest

Aqua: PURIFICATION! PURIFICATION! PURIFICATION! PURIFICATION!

Kazuma: At least she's being me more productive now.

The others continued watching the events unfold as the goddess decided to use actual magic to purify the lake rather than simply sit in the water.

Darkness: I'm really envious of her! It looks fun inside that cage!

Kazuma: Down girl!

At the very least, the commotion has stirred you awake in time as another gator bit into the bars. You stood up from your spot, stretched, and joined with the others.

(Y/N): *yawns* What'd I miss?

Megumin: The alligators are finally attacking the cage and Aqua is using her magic to purify the lake... Truth be told, I feel bad just letting her sit out there alone.

Kazuma: She'll be fine.

As if on cue, an alligator that practically towered over the others began to slowly reveal itself from the lake. The scary part is that it would easily swallow the cage whole with ease.

Aqua: WHY IS THERE AN EVEN BIGGER ONE HERE?!?!

Back with your group...

Megumin: Out of curiosity, what were you even dreaming about? The things we were hearing sounded a little... mixed... To say the least.

You made an attempt to remember your dream however, you were unable to recall anything other than a beautiful blonde woman with a parasol.

(Y/N): Can't exactly remember... All I can say is it something about a woman... She gave me a warning... Something about my body stuck in the boundary of life and death... and my humanity is still intact...? And... Yup, there it goes...!

Kazuma: Dude... That sounds kinda badass.

(Y/N): I don't know but I definitely feel more relaxed now... Oh hey!

At the moment, the largest gator held the cage in its mouth and furiously shook Aqua around as if it wanted to release her so that it may easily devour her whole.

(Y/N): I know it said that we didn't have to kill them but I bet that huge one can fetch a nice bonus!

Kazuma: Do what you want, there's no way I'm going near that thing without getting absolutely shredded.

(Y/N): Suit yourself, come on Megumin. I have an idea!

Megumin: At last! I can finally cut loose!

Both you and the arch wizard ran towards the lake to rescue Aqua from the oversized alligator.

(Y/N): I'm probably going to regret this! Megumin, once she's out, fire one right into its mouth before it closes! Just don't go overboard!

Megumin: You got it!

Megumin readied herself and began her chant as the usual black aura began to swirld around her body.

Meanwhile, you threw a knife towards the cage and watched as it flew into multiple directions until it was caught on one of the bars. Aqua took notice of a thread that wrapped around certain bars. On the other end of the thread, you were attempting to swing one handed as the monster violently shook the cage until you picked the right moment and released your grip.

(Y/N): Woo-hoo!

The excitement rushed throw your veins as you were soaring high into the air and brought fourth a dagger that seemed to resemble like something out of a video game with its design.

(Y/N): Going down!

Once your momentum had stopped, you fell downwards and aimed your fall towards the monster's head.

(YN): This is going to suck for the both of us!

In a short amount of time, you were able to fall towards the side of its head and pierce the eye with your blade. From the sudden pain, the monster released its hold on the cage and began reeling back. You moved the blade to the side and sliced the eye before removing it to jump away from the monster before the finishing blow.

(Y/N): Anytime now!

Megumin: EXPLOSION!!

A magic circle appeared in the monster's jaws and within moments, it quickly closed its mouth. The result ended with the alligators body suddenly inflating like a balloon as it remained dead in the water.

On the other hand, you landed roughly on the ground, picked up the collapsed crimson demon and ran towards the other two. Upon returning to the group, you placed the girl on the ground and collapsed tight beside her as your broken arm was in massive pain from the sudden movements.

Kazuma: Nice, we can just leave the lake to her and we'll be good to go!

You may have stopped the most dangerous monster of the bunch, however the goddess was still on the verge of tears as she desperately purified the lake as the smaller creatures returned to attacking the cage.

Darkness: I'm quite surprised that the monster remains in that state.

(Y/N): *pants* These guys are tougher than you think. It might take a minute for it to-

Your explanation was interrupted as the massive alligator literally exploded from the inside as its chunks began to scatter in the area. Luckily, most of it was disintegrating in mid air...

THWACK!

A large piece struck Darkness and sent her flying backwards while a few smaller chunks landed on Kazuma.

Kazuma: We're lucky that the mess isn't bad...!

Megumin: You're welcome...!

(Y/N): I'll pick up the pieces once she's done!

7 Hours into the Quest!

(Y/N): At least the deed is done.

You were standing in the purified lake, admiring the rest of the goddesses work.

(Y/N): And with the chunks out of the water, it's a job well done.

Meanwhile, Kazuma, Darkness, and Megumin were trying to console a broken goddess.

(Y/N): Maybe I'm not completely useless with one arm.

Aqua: Uh-huh...

You approached the cage to throw in your attempts to help Aqua however, even you realized that anything wouldn't work as you looked into her eyes.

(Y/N): Oh... Wow, didn't think it was that bad.

Darkness: Even offering her the full amount of the reward wasn't enough.

(Y/N): Even the bonus?

Kazuma: Even the bonus.

Megumin: She's in an even worse state than I am.

(Y/N): Holt shi-

Emergency Quest Cleared!

Later That Day

Aqua: What... Will become of me....

(Y/N): You know, I thought I was worried earlier but I'm even more worried now.

Everyone minus Kazuma agreed at your comment as the party continued walking across Axel to return the cage. Although, Aqua continued to remain in the cage due to her current condition.

Megumin: You can let me down, (Y/N). I can walk from here.

(Y/N): Your call.

You crouched to allow the girl to climb off of your back and walk on her own legs as she finally regained the ability to walk.

After some time, Aqua continued with her singing as she remained sitting in the cage. It didn't take much for everyone to realize the looks that they were getting as the citizens were staring at your group.

Kazuma: Aqua, stop with the singing already. Do you know how bad this looks with you in there.

(Y/N): And everyone is staring...

Kazuma: Would you get out already!

Aqua: No... This cage is my sanctuary, now. Its too scary out there so I'll stay in here.

Megumin: Shutting herself away from the rest of the world isn't healthy.

Darkness: No it is not.

Kazuma: She's just like I used to be...

Megumin and Darkness were confused by your friend's words until he waves it off.

Kazuma: Never mind, it's nothin.

(Y/N): Dude, what happened after I... You know.

Kazuma: ... I'd rather not talk about it.

This confused you as you knew nothing of Kazuma's life after you had died in the previous world. In fact, he never even mentioned anything about shutting himself away.

???: Malady! I'll get you out of there!

Nearly everyone was confused about the voice as a male with dirty blonde hair ran towards the cage and pried the bars apart with his bare hands

Kazuma: Damn!

Megumin: Wow, he's strong!

(Y/M): *scoff* Oh yeah, just ignore that I was the one that fixed it earlier.

???: What are you doing in this cage, malady! You're a goddess!

Darkness: Hey!

Darkness gripped the boys shoulder in order to defend her friend.

Darkness: My friend did not give you permission to touch her! Who are you? Out with it!

Kazuma drew closer to the cage to speak to Aqua.

Kazuma: Do you know this guy? Because it sounds like he knows you. He called you goddess!

Meanwhile, you only sighed to yourself before retreating out of view since you also knew the person in blue armor.

Aqua: Goddess?

Kazuma: Yeah! Just now!

The two of them only stared at each other while Kazuma was expecting an answer until...

Aqua: That's right! I am a goddess!

The blue haired girl quickly cheered up as her smiled quickly returned

Kazuma: She forgot?!

(Y/N): Really? That cheered... Nevermind!

Aqua quickly climbed out of the cage, nearly falling in the process however she quickly stood back on her own feet to face the new arrival

Aqua: How can this goddess be or service to you, good sir?

(Y/N): I'm not fixing that, by the way!

Aqua: ... Who are you again?

The dirty blonde male was shocked to hear that the goddess didn't even recognize him.

???: I-its me, malady! Kyouya Mitsurugi! Don't you remember me? I died and you reincarnated me then gave me Gram, the magic sword!

(Y/N): *under your breath* She didn't remember me, either... Dumbass.

Megumin's eyes widened as she was the only one that heard your comment and whispered towards you.

Megumin: What's with the aggression?

(Y/N): I might have... Slept with one of his party member... It's a long story that ended in me and him starting a bar fight...

Megumin only lightly blushed from hearing your side before taking a step back from you.

(Y/N): I'm not going for you next, don't worry. You and the others are more precious to me, it's kind of hard to look at you that way anyways... You seem young.

Megumin: Right...

Once Aqua was finally familiar with the person known as Kyouya, the armored man seemed to question the situation.

Kyouya: By the way... Why were you in a cage?

(Y/N): Wouldn't he like to know the story... Hey, how's the cheek?!

A Few Minutes Later

Kyouya: You WHAT?! You dragged malady to this world, against her will?! And then you locked her in a cage and dumped her in a lake?! YOU MONSTER! HOW COULD YOU?!

Kyouya held Kazuma by his shirt as if he was threatening to beat him up in the street.

(Y/N): I brought towels, she seemed ecstatic about that. Also, you gotta cool it with the malad-

You weren't exactly lucky as he also grabbed you with his other arm with an angered look on his face.

(Y/N): Didn't know you were eager for round two.

Aqua: N-no wait! I don't really mind that he forced me to come here, anymore! I'm having all sorts of fun doing lifey things!

Kyouya: Please, malady! I don't know how these guys influenced your judgment, but you're a goddess! Remember? They are nobodies!

Kazuma was quite angered by his words but you simply shoved his hands away.

(Y/N): You really don't want this.

Kyouya: You don't get to speak, anymore! I can't believe that you still have quite the mouth on you after our last run in!

He then turned back to Aqua.

Kyouya: If you don't mind me asking, what inn are you staying at?

Aqua: It's not an inn, it's the stables.

The angered man returned his grip back on the both of you while he made sure to keep his other grip on your broken arm. Which brought even more pain on yourself as you were ready to retaliate. Luckily, the blonde Crusader interjected and forced his grip off of your broken arm.

Darkness: Keep your hands off of them, this instant! Is there no limit to your rudeness!

(Y/N): *groans* Nice cheap shot, ass.

Megumin: I could end him with an explosion!

Kazuma: Please don't! Actually wait...

Megumin knew of her current status but stood her ground with her staff ready for intimidation.

(Y/N): *in thought* ... Never knew my respect for them could so higher...!

Kyouya: Interesting... A Crusader and an arch wizard... And charming ones at that, if you don't mind me saying so.

(Y/N): I mind.

Another glare was shot in your direction however you were unfazed by the look.

Kyouya: You're placed to have such wonderful people as allies.

(Y/N): *in thought* You kidding? I might fall for Darkness right now after that save... Well... Still have complicated feelings...

You didn't realize that you were staring at the blonde only for her to notice your look and you tried to look away in embarrassment.

Kyouya: And yet, you male Lady Aqua sleep in a dirty stable! Have you no shame?!

All Kazuma could think of was the sword that the blonde had equipped, contemplating as to whether Kyouya's life had been a lot easier than his own. He even knew of your struggles as you told storied about your adventures. Eventually, he thought about how the three girls weren't exactly as excellent as the knight made them sound.

Kyouya: Look ladies, I'm a Sword Master and I'd love to have you in my party! I'll treat you well and I'll buy you the best gear.

Aqua simply drew closer to her friends and began whispering to them.

Aqua: *whisper* This guy is trouble with a capital T! He's giving me the heebie jeebies. Like he's so full of himself, it's scary!

(Y/N): *whisper* He's even worse after a few drinks.

Darkness: Agreed, that man makes me feel so conflicted! I enjoy being hit more than attacking but the urge to punch his face is irresistible!

(Y/N): Please do it...!

Megumin: I want to blow him up, let me blow him up.

Kazuma: Well, you heard them. These excellent ladies would rather stick with a nobody like me than join you. Later dude.

Every one of you turned away to resume waking along the road.

(Y/N): Hey Darkness, you like Pizza? There's a great place near the stables if you're interested!

Darkness: I've never tried it but I don't mind trying new things!

Kazuma: *groans* Get a room, you two!

Kyouya was still determined to steal the goddess away from your group as he ran ahead to stop in front of the group.

Kyouya: Wait!

Kazuma: You're blocking our way

Kyouya; I am sorry but I can't leave Lady Aqua in a party that mistreats her!

(Y/N): Bro, she's always kicking me out of the hay stack! I think she's the one mistreating me!

Aqua: I said I was sorry!

Kazuma knew exactly what was next as the Sword Master smirked.

Kyouya: Let's spar for her! If I win, Lady Aqua comes with me! If you beat me, I'll grant you one request!

(Y/N); ... Make that each! Let me take him!

Kyouya: Unfortunately, you're already injured so I'm not picking a fight with you.

(Y/N): Yet, you had no problem placing your grip on my broken arm! Come on, I'm sure I can still kick your ass underleveled and one handed.

Kyouya: I'm sorry about the cheap shot but my fight will be with Satou!... Wait did you say, underlevel-

Kazuma: OK you're on, ready set go!

Your friend was quite fast in acting and immediately drew his sword to charge forward with a couple of sword swings.

Kyouya: Hey, wait! Hold on a second!

The blonde knight barely had time to react and draw his own sword from Kazuma's reckless assault.

Kazuma: Steeaaaal!!

With his hand reaching forward, a bright light blinded the supposed hero until he reopened his eyes to find that his sword was no longer in his hands.

Kyouya: ... Huh?

He looked forward, only to find the brown haired teen to strike him down with the blunt side of Gram and fall unconscious.

Kazuma: That ought to teach you to own your big mouth!

(Y/N): *laughter* Nice one, man! Your drinks are on me tonight!

???: Why you... COWARD!!

Kazuma turned his head towards an alley way where two girls were standing. One of them had green hair tied in a pony tail while another was a little shorter with red hair tied into two braids.

Red haired girl; Coward, coward, coward!!

The red haired one was venting her frustration towards Kazuma due to the both of watching the battle.

Kazuma: Let me guess, you girls are with him.

(Y/N): *small sigh* They sure are...

Green haired girl: That's right you jerk!

Megumin gently pulled you to her level and whispered in your ear.

Megumin: *whisper* So which one was it?

(Y/N); *whisper* Erm... The one on the left... She's actually a nice girl when she isn't obsessing over that guy.

You were referring to the one that was yelling at Kazuma as she pointed her finger towards hum.

Green haired girl: You give Gram back to hin right now, that's Kyouya's sword and he's the only one that can use it.

Kazuma: Wait, for real?

Aqua: It's true, he's the only that can use Gram.

(Y/N): Thats... Oddly convenient, why would you give him something like that?

Aqua: I don't know, he just wanted something that'll help him defeat the demon king. You're the only one that wanted to keep your device for your music.

(Y/N): And I appreciate that you made it indestructible and run on magic but still... Doesn't exactly seem fair to all of us that had to work hard... Hell, I even lost a couple of weapons to the monster that nearly took off my arm.

Aqua: I was only fulfilling my duty as a goddess! What more do you want from me!

(Y/N): Just expressing my disappointment.

Kazuma: Hey, (Y/N)... You make a good point! I won, so I'm keeping this sword!

The green haired girl's heart sank upon hearing your name and looked in your direction to realize that you were standing there this whole time.

(Y/N): Been a minute, hasn't it?

Red haired girl: Oh its YOU! Do you have any idea what we went through after that night?!

(Y/N): I'm assuming still painting me as the bad guy. Come on, even I made a mistake that only went completely downhill!

Green Haired Girl: W-we should go!

Kazuma: You should listen to her, because I believe everyone is equal! So I don't have a problem throwing down on a couple of girls if they're asking for it. And right now, you're askin for it.

Kazuma simply raised his hand as if he was ready to cast another use of str while simply smirking.

Kazuma: If I use steal, things could get pretty embarrassing and drafty for ya!

Both girls didn't want to believe Kazum's words until he turned around with another grin and an odd attempt at evil laughter.

Kazuma: I can feel the steal coming on~

They were scared for themselves before turning around and running in the alleyway to escape Kazuma's reign of terror.

Everyone, except for Darkness, were quite disgusted by his antics.

(Y/N): ... Dude... The fuck was that?

Kazuma: I... I feel dirty...

Megumin: You should be! Pervert!

(Y/N): ... All of you can go on ahead, I'll see you in the morning.

Aqua: What for?

(Y/N): Doubt he even accepted but I'm gonna make him cough up the one reward since I said each for me and Kazuma. Also, I can always sell off the gator hide in the morning.

Kazuma: Have at it, man. See you tomorrow!

Everyone else ontinued walking, with the horse pulling the empty cage while you decided to sit on a nearby bench to wait for Kyouya to wake up.

???: Excuse me...

You were a little surprised when a nervous child approached you.

???: You're (Y/N), aren't you?! You're the one that defeated an undead dragon months ago!

(Y/N): Huh? Where'd you even hear that?

???: From my dad! He said he nearly lost life if you and your party hadn't arrived on time to protect his caravan! He said it was nearly impossible to kill one until you showed up and showed it who's boss!

(Y/N): Well it wasn't just me but still... Didn't think anyone would know who I am around here.

???: Well we do! I want to be just like you when I grow up! I want to be able to protect trade caravans in high level areas.

(Y/N): Just be yourself, kid. Life gets rough out there and you're going to need every bit of what makes you, you, to keep you going. You should probably get going, I have something to settle with that guy right there.

The child only nodded before running off to probably tell his father that he met his hero. In the mean time...

(Y/N): You waking up anytime soon, Mr Hero?

The knight in blue armor only slowly stood up in response and held his head in pain.

Kyouya: How'd you know I was awake?

(Y/N): Wild guess.

Kyouya: So... I take you want an apology from me.

(Y/N): Nah, watching you get smacked silly was enough for me. I want you to bring your friend over here. You know which one.

Kyouya: And allow you to defile her even further, I'd rather jump off a bridge than to forsake a party member.

(Y/N): You're not going to want to hear my side of the story? I'm not after another mistake like that night! And she's the only one that I want to hear, apologize to me!

Kyouya: What are you even talking about? You're the one that laid your grubby hands on her!

???: A-actually... Thats not true...

Kyouya turned around to find both of his companions standing behind him, the one with red hair was confused while the green haired one stepped forward with regret in her eyes.

Kyouya: C-Cremea...? Wha-

Cremea: It wasn't true...! Even if we slept with each other... He didn't trick me into it.

Red Haired Girl: What?! You're joking right?

Cremea: I'm sorry! I wasn't thinking clearly at the time! We were both drunk and talking about our troubles then we kind of snuck away... The realization didn't even happen until we were starting to sober and I was just startled! I didn't want to lie to the both of you but you were already set on him being the bad guy after walking in on us!

The other two party members were shocked by the confession as Cremea stood directly in front of you.

Cremea: I'm sorry! I'm sorry about everything! I felt bad when you and Kyouya started fighting but I know I can't take back what happened when your fiancé showed up! I heard about everything from Luna and I was struck with so much guilt that I wanted to run away forever! I'm sorry about letting everything happen! Your life was destroyed because of me so... I can take whatever you throw at me!

The air was heavy as there was nothing but silence until you noticed someone else watching the whole scene. Without saying another word, you stood up and began to walk away from the girl bowing before you.

(Y/N): ... Thats all I needed to hear... I forgive you... All three of you...

You simply returned to the stable to sleep while walking past Snow, who had watched the whole thing as Cremea and her scene returned to the scene.

Kyouya: Seems like we all made a mistake that night...

Cremea: I-I understand if you won't forgive me, ma'am...

Snow only ran home with tears in her eyes as it was too much to unpack.

The Next Morning

Waitress: Here you go, (Y/N)! The usual cup of coffee with a slice of apple pie, baked fresh this morning!

(Y/N): *sniff* You know, this is exactly what I needed. You won't believe what kind of day I had yesterday!

Kazuma: Huh? Did something happen after we left?

(Y/N): Nah, everything is just fine actually... Feels good to finally let go of something that's been eating away.

Megumin: Well that's good hear! You certainly seem to be in a better mood than usual.

You tossed a few more coins of Eris to the waitress's empty tray as a tip for always showing you kindness.

Darkness: By the way, (Y/N), we never visited the place you mentioned.

(Y/N): No idea what you're talking about!

The feeling of being forgotten somehow sparked something within the Crusader as she lightly blushed.

Darkness: How ruthless! Tossing me to the side and moving on to your next victim~

(Y/N): Only kidding, please stop with the masochism!

Aqua eventually joined the group and slumped onto the still feeling disappointed about the reward money.

Aqua: I got my reward... Guess why she only gave me a hundred thousand eris...! Cause the cage is two hundred thousand to fix!

(Y/N): Sounds about right, they're not exactly cheap to fix.

Aqua: I didn't even break the darn thing! If I ever see that weasel again, I'm going to him with a god blown right between the eyes!

Kyouya: I also heard a rumor that you enjoy dousing women in slime! They call you Kazuma the Cad!

Kazuma simply turned to face the man.

Kyouya simply shook his head in disapproval before turning his attention toward the goddess sitting next to you.

Kyouya: Lady Aqua-

(Y/N): I'd back away if I were you.

Kyouya: I don't understand... Look, I swore to defeat the demon king, malady please joi-

Ignoring your warning, the sword master approached with confidence only to be met Aqua's glowing fist striking his face.

Aqua: GOD BLOW!!

Everyone in the guild turned around to find Kyouya on the ground as Aqua stood there with anger in her eyes. Even his friends were screaming for their armored companion as they watched Aqua pull him to shake the person down for compensation of the broken cage.

Aqua: That cage cost three hundred thousand to fix and you're going to pay for it, or else!

Kyouya: Y-yes, of course! I'm so sorry!

You snuck behind the two scared girls to deliver something while the knight picked himself back up.

(Y/N): Don't worry, she's only pissed about him breaking the cage.

The green haired one decided to speak despite having trouble due to previous events.

Cremea: Eh? Why are your friends... Scary and weird?!

(Y/N): Hell if I know, it just happens. Anyways, here... He's going to need this, got it a while back, it's average but it does the job.

You handed the red haired girl an average broadsword with a note meant for Crema, which left then confused.

Red haired girl: I don't get it, why are you suddenly so nice? Especially-

(Y/N): Don't... Don't bring it up again, what's done is done. I no longer feel like something is weighing me down, and neither does she.

You were referring to the green haired warrior as she still felt embarrassed about the situation.

(Y/N): Let's just say the road ahead is enough for a punishment.

The two were shocked and quickly ran after their friend, leaving to chuckle and return to your seat to finish your breakfast.

Megumin: That was a little... Odd for you to do.

Darkness: Come to think of it, he called Aqua a goddess a few times and I was wondering if you know what that was.

Your entire party turned to Darkness as she was talking to Kazuma for answers.

Kazuma: I guess the jig is up! I guess it's time you learned the truth.

(Y/N): They were gonna learn eventually.

Aqua: I suppose... It was supposed to be a secret but I think I can trust you with it. I am Aqua, worshipped by the axis sector, the goddess of water! Sorry I couldn't tell you sooner, but I am the goddess Aqua!

You snickered as she stood there confidently with food stains around her mouth.

Megumin/Darkness: You really shouldn't drink so much.

Aqua: I AM NOT DRUNK!

(Y/N): Not yet.

Aqua: (Y/N)!!!

Distant Bull Horn: Emergency! Emergency! We need all adventures to arm themselves immediately and rally at that main gate! Prepare for battle! Kazuma Satou! You and your party are particularly needed today so please hurry!

Every adventurer in the guild quickly ran out of the hall and made their way towards the main gate while your group were left confused.

Megumin: What is it this time?

(Y/N): Oh... It's been a week, hasn't it?

Everyone shivered in realization of your words.

Kazuma: You're staying behind!

(Y/N): Nope, I'm not missing a damn thing this time around!

You were the first to stand and walk towards the door with the others following behind.

(Y/N): Besides, I have a score to settle with this so called General!

Darkness: But your injury is still present, it's not safe for you to head out there!

(Y/N): It isn't safe for him either, that bastard is one of the ones that killed my friends and locked me away.

Everyone was stunned by your words as you felt a strong motivation with the next battle.

Megumin: And on that day, every single one of us, including (Y/N), understood what it meant when he stated thst his body was trapped within the boundary between life and death! It was truly a spectacle to behold!

(Y/N): ... Who you talking to?

Megumin: N-no one, you're hearing things!

(Y/N): Hey, where'd you get a camera!

Megumin: (Y/N) Please leave my room!

The sounds of rumbling and your constant questions of the camera can be heard before a door closed.

Megumin: *phew* That was a little embarrassing...!
