Shaded Sky was curled up in a makeshift nest inside the ship, Jay Talon and Mist Fall slept beside him. Winter Snow was there, asleep with them. Normally, pups would sleep with their mother, but when their mother died or abandoned their pups it was the job of the phi to take care of them until they became psi's.

Earlier that night the patrol that had set off in the morning, found a nice area that would be good territory. The territory had a waterfall that flowed threw a oak wood forest and fell down into a deep foaming gorge. The patrol had found many animals wondering the area, and nice open spaces for psi to train, there was a meadow with many beautiful wildflowers and tall grass, small prey like bluejay's and mice lived in the meadow.

Shaded Sky's ear twitched in his sleep. He shifted slightly in the nest that he slept in. His blue eyes opened quickly and he sat up, his eyes wide with fear. He looked around quickly and sighed. That was his second nightmare since his mother's death.

He laid down once more and closed his eyes, trying to sleep. He turned and twisted, unable to sleep. Eventually, he groaned softly and stumbled out if the nest. Careful not to wake anyone else, he slipped outside and sat down in the grass right outside the ship. He looked around, there were a few wolves outside sleeping together in groups.

He curled his tail around himself as he laid down on the grass. There were a few things on his mind, what would he do now? He didn't have any family left, except for Ember Sky and his mate, Shadow Moon. He didn't consider them family though. He had no clue who, or where his father is and his mother was now dead. Another thing that was bothering him was his powers. Yes, he breathed fire when Ember Sky attacked but he felt that fire breathing wasn't his true power.

And plus he didn't want the same power as Ember Sky.

He had an idea, suddenly. He could at least solve one problem. Shaded Sky looked around before finding what he was looking for. He remembered that Lizard Leaf could tell what powers you had before you even got them. He started to head over to the sleeping elders before he remembered that it was the middle of the night and they probably wouldn't want to be awoken at this time.

He headed back to the ship with a new bounce in his step. He slipped inside and curled up in his nest, and after a few moments he was asleep.

"Ow!" A voice yelped, Shaded Sky awoke to the noise. The sun was just over the horizon, casting an orange glow threw the windows of the ship. "What was that for?" Shaded Sky opened his eyes to see Mist Fall laughing and Jay Talon rubbing his head with a paw.

"That was for catching my tail on fire" Mist Fall answered, still giggling. Jay Talon huffed and put his paw down "I already get enoug-" he was cut off by Mist Fall "Oh! Your awake!" She hopped over to Shaded Sky, completely ignoring her brother. Jay Talon rolled his eyes and followed Mist Fall more slowly.

"Wha-?" Shaded Sky started to ask, when Mist Fall cut him off "I used my power to lift a stick off of the ground and whacked the back of Jay Talon's head with it!" She laughed, Shaded Sky shook his head and chuckled.

"You're just cutting everyone off today arn't you?" Jay Talon teased. "At least I didn't catch someone's tail on fire!" She teased back. Jay Talon sighed with a chuckle he asked, "this is going to haunt me for the rest of my life, isn't it?" Mist Fall smiled before replying "yup!" She stuck her tongue out at him before running outside.

"Get back here!" Jay Talon ran after her. Shaded Sky followed them outside. He laughed as they chased each other around the clearing, his ear twitched when he heard the elders talking "I hope they send out a patrol soon, this place is too open for my liking" Frost Light complained "oh hush up, its nice to have a little breeze here and there" Lizard Leaf teased, while flicking her tail across his face making him sneeze.

Shaded Sky bounded over to them. "Hello Shaded Sky! Do you need something?" Lizard Leaf asked with a tilt of her head. Shaded Sky sat down before answering "well... I was wondering if you could answer a question?" He asked slowly. "Of course! What's your question?" Lizard Leaf curled her tail around herself.

Shaded Sky hesitated before asking "So... most pups get their powers before they become a psi. And I was wondering when mine would kick in... if they do at all..." he trailed off. Lizard Leaf didn't speak for a moment, making Shaded Sky worry a bit. "Unusual" she muttered, "you seem to already have discovered two, one you already know the other... your not sure of. You will gain your other powers in time, what's unusual is you have two extra powers then a normal wolf" she explained. "What are the other powers?" Shaded Sky asked. "It's better if you find out yourself" she winked.

"Can you at least give me a hint?" Shaded Sky pleaded. Lizard Leaf thought for a moment, then whispered something in Frost Light's ear who nodded in reply.

"What can you take, but then give back?
What's important to get out of the way?
What can melt something, but not your mouth?"

Frost Light sighed "I'm not very good at riddles anymore."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Shaded Sky asked, with a small tilt of his head. Lizard Leaf gave a small smile "Go figure it out, it's part of the fun." She explained "now go play with your friends" she added.

Shaded Sky turned and padded over to Jay Talon and Mist Fall, who were wrestling in the grass. "What are you doing?" Shaded Sky asked as he sat down near by. Jay Talon got up and shook the blades of grass off of himself. "I don't know" he replied. "What do you want to train for?" Mist Fall asked after a moment. "An Eta!" Shaded Sky cheered "I'm going to be the best!" He added.

Jay Talon crouched down "no, I am!" He declared, before leaping at Shaded Sky and starting a play fight. "So childish" a voice scoffed, they looked up to see Blue Fang standing near by. "Your going to be psi's in less than a moon, and your still acting like pups!" He rolled his eyes. "Sorry..." Jay Talon mumbled while getting up from off of the ground. "Your sorries arn't enough, such a pain" he added the last part more quietly and stalked off.

Jay Talon flattened his ears in embarrassment "don't listen to him he's just grouchy" Mist Fall commented "yeah...." Jay Talon mumbled, staring off after Blue Fang and not really paying attention to what Mist Fall said.

A little group of wolves gathered around Blaze Night and Dark Gaze, they were picking out the patrol to go find a good camp sight in the area the previous patrol had found. Shaded Sky glanced over at the group forming "lets see what's going on" he bounded toward the group a few paces before looking back and seeing that only Mist Fall had followed.

"Jay Talon! Come on!" Shaded Sky bounded back over "hello? Earth to Jay Talon" Shaded Sky dragged out the 'hello' "oh, yeah" Jay Talon followed Shaded Sky and Mist Fall over to the group of wolves.

"Lemon Frost, could you lead the new patrol to the area you found? Fawn Poppy, Green Light, and Thunder Snow can go with you" Blaze Night finished, Lemon Frost nodded and she beckoned the other three and led them off into the forest around them.

"I hope they find a camp just like our old one!" Mist Fall commented, Shaded Sky shrugged "eh, I don't really care as long as its not too open" Jay Talon hummed in agreement.
