The gathering island was in the middle of the lake where the only way across was a tree bridge which was always slippery and made Spottedmist nervous that he would fall into the lake. The island was a large clearing surrounded by trees and one big ever green tree in front if the clearing is where the leaders stand as they talk. As Skyclan arrived at the gathering  Spottedmist was shocked at the amount of cats there.

 Then he saw a black she-cat with beautiful green eyes sitting alone at the edge of the clearing. when she looked at him she started to walk over to him and he got a mix of feelings happiness, nervousness, shyness, of love he could not tell which one would shine through. " I'm Poisonclaw what's your name" Poisonclaw said in a bright voice "I'm Spottedmist" " your a warrior how come I have not ever seen you before I go to every gathering , but I do remember when Hawkstar announced that you became a warrior Spottedmist ".  "I never wanted to go to a gathering not even this one"  Spottedmist said quietly.

 "OK" Spottedmist sniffed the air "your Shadowclan" he announced  "Yes, do you have a problem with that" "no, its just that a Shadowclan cat named Sapclaw killed my father and my mentor Darkmist" "Oh".  "Well that is understandable Sapclaw is my mother but maybe you and me can be different. Meet me at the Shadowclan border a moonhigh tomorrow night ok" "ok, Poisonclaw" Spottedmist replied.

 "can you two be quiet some cats are trying to listen to the leaders". Falcondawn hissed at them but Spottedmist was too happy to listen to the leaders all he could think about was Poisonclaw. 

 when he got back to camp he went straight to his nest  and lay down to sleep, that night he dreamed it to Starclan territory a beautiful forest with stars and the strong sent if prey a tom with stars in his fur walked up to him "Darkmist" Spottedmist called to his father "hello my son" Darkmist mewed "I have a warning to give you, the time of peace will end soon and Skyclan's very existence will be at risk and you my son will be in the middle of it if Skyclan will be destroyed of live." "what!" Spottedmist gasped "that is all I can say to you my son" Darkmist faded it to the mist "wait, what should I do father wait". 

Spottedmist abruptly woke up to a cat poking him in the side Spottedmist saw that it was Goldenflame "get up sleepy head Hawkstar wants to talk to you" "why" Spottedmist mummer "I don't know he just told me to tell you so go" Goldenflame hissed.  "Ah, Spottedmist come in" Hawkstar mewed "what do you want  to talk about" Spottedmist replied "Do you want to mentor one of Shadowsongs kits" "of course" "Ok, I was thinking I would give one to you, one to Goldenflame, And one to Hollyberry. "Ok, can I mentor Cloudkit" Spottedmist replied "Ok I will give Twlightkit to Goldenflame and Sunkit to Hollyberry" Hawkstar decided "Will you tell Goldenflame and Hollyberry, Spottedmist". 

"Ok, Hawkstar" Spottedmist walked out of the den opening and towards Hollyberry, Hollyberry ,he thought  you joined this clan because of Hawkstar's  kindness and you act like you own the place I tried to be your friend and be kind but you push every cat away that does not treat you like you are the leader how will you ever be a good mentor to Sunkit . 

"Hollyberry, Hawkstar says that you will mentor Sunkit got it" "what" "Ok bye" Spottedmist mewed behind his back. "Goldenflame, may I talk to you" "of course Spottedmist what is it" Hawkstar says that you will mentor Twlightkit" "really who will mentor Sunkit an Cloudkit" "me and Hollyberry will, I get Cloudkit and Hollyberry gets Sunkit" "Ok, hopefully Sunkit will help Hollyberry be a nicer cat". 

"May all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather below the high rock" Hawkstar called " today three kits are going to become apprentices Sunkit, you have reached the age of six moons in till you receive your warrior name you will  be known as Sunpaw and your mentor will be Hollyberry, Cloudkit , you have reached the age of six moons in till you receive your warrior name you will be known as Cloudpaw and your mentor will be Spottedmist Twlightkit, you have reached the age of six moons in till you receive your warrior name you will be known as Twlightpaw and your mentor will be Goldenflame" "Cloudpaw, Sunpaw, Twlightpaw, Cloudpaw, Sunpaw, Twlightpaw,Cloudpaw, Sunpaw, Twlightpaw" Everyone chanted" That is all clan dismissed" Hawkstar called. 

"What will we do first" Cloudpaw bounced "What about a tour of the territory " "Ok, when do we leave now" "yes now lets go". "I never new that the forest was so big" Cloudpaw breathed  "yes the forest is big but what is more important is what is inside of the forest. Like the ancient oak a large oak tree that mice live in the roots of the tree and squirrels live in the branches" Spottedmist told Cloudpaw "wow ancient oak must be a great hunting spot, Spottedmist" "yes it is Cloudpaw but we can not hunt there too much of prey will stop coming there" .

"that makes since, Spottedmist". After touring the whole territory they reached look out ledge a high ledge and that allows the cat standing there to see the whole territory and look out for the other clans invading "this is look out ledge, it allows you to see the whole territory every night we post a guard here to look out for enemy's trying to invade" Spottedmist announced "cool !" Cloudpaw pounced "now lets get back to camp and get some fresh kill you did well Cloudpaw, come on".
