Let's Go to Ivo Tower, You Say pt1

"Superman is a liar. He dodged every question I asked him, Clark. I have nothing. This isn't an article." Lois said in frustration as she sat with Y/N and Clark.

At the Daily Planet, Lois continues to accuse Superman of being a liar for dodging her questions.

Lois then leaned her head on Clark's shoulder. Clark blushed softly and Y/N went green with envy.

"Seriously, who is Superman?" Lois asked in frustration.

"Well, maybe he's a nice guy who has powers and just wants to use them to help as many people as he can." Clark said to her. Lois chuckled.

"Clark, if you had powers, you'd do that, but I'm not talking about you." Lois said.

Y/N leaned back in his chair, taking a sip of his drink. "I don't get it, guys. What's the big deal with Superman anyway?" He looked at Lois and Clark, waiting for their take on the superhero. Honestly, Y/N wasn't the biggest fan of Superman. To him, Superman was show stealer. Today, Superman got all the credit for stopping White Dragon and Interngang. Not once was Y/N / Spot credited. Nor was he credited for saving people during Livewire and Banes fight with oh what's his name.

Lois chuckled, "Y/N, it's not just about Superman being a hero. It's about the stories. A scoop from Superman can turn us into real reporters, not just churning out fluff pieces." She nodded, adding, "Reporting on him is like catching lightning in a bottle for the Daily Planet."

Y/N grinned, planting a quick kiss on Lois's cheek. "Alright, if Superman's the ticket to making us legit reporters, count me in. Let's catch some lightning in that bottle."

Lois grinned back, giving Y/N a playful peck on the lips. "That's the spirit. Now, we just need to keep our eyes peeled for the next Superman scoop."

Clark raised an eyebrow, concern in his eyes as he looked at the various bandages on Y/N. "Y/N, what happened? Those bandages look serious."

Y/N chuckled, "Ah, just a really bad rash. Apparently, even us aspiring reporters aren't immune to skin troubles."

The the loud thud of papers was heard. Jimmy had arrived back. Jimmy grinned, dropping a pile of magazines and newspaper articles in front of Lois. "Bam! Got it!"

Y/N looked over the papers with Clark.

""UFO Sighting?" "Miracles in the Heartland?" What is this?" Clark asked confused,

"That's what I'd like to know, too." Y/N said.

"Oh, you know, nothing." Lois said with a hint of embarrassment in her voice.

"Lois asked for them." Jimmy admitted, much to Lois's embarrassment

Y/N raised an eyebrow at Lois, a mix of curiosity and amusement in his expression. "Aliens, huh? Our ticket to reporting greatness?"

Lois blushed, smiled, and playfully rolled her eyes at Y/N. "Yeah, we're really going to track down Superman by reading tabloids. Because, you know, nothing about Superman is online or in any reputable papers." She let out a light chuckle, finding the whole situation a bit absurd.

Lois sighed, "So maybe Jimmy is..." Before she could finish, Jimmy interjected with a teasing tone, "What was that? Couldn't quite hear the last part."

Lois, in defeat, admitted, "Ugh, you might be right. But since no one normal believes in aliens, the truth will be in these. We're so close." Y/N chuckled at the banter, enjoying the lively conversation.

Lois continued, "Together we can do this. Together we will..." Her words were cut off as Mr. White suddenly appeared at the door, saying, "Come upstairs with me." Clark, Lois, Y/N, and Jimmy collectively screamed in shock, startled by his sudden arrival.

In Mr. White's office, tension filled the air as the group tried to reason with him, pleading not to be fired. "Mr. White, we've been working hard on some promising leads," Lois explained, a hint of desperation in her voice. Y/N added, "We're dedicated to the paper, just give us a chance." The room echoed with their earnest pleas, though Mr. White hadn't revealed why they were summoned.

Mr. White finally spoke up, "Easy. You're not in trouble for being in the newspaper morgue. Now, shut up. I'm about to be nice." The group exchanged relieved glances, relieved.

He then inhaled and exhaled. "You keep telling me you want to be reporters, loudly, repeatedly. So tonight, I'm going to give you your shot."

He then tapped a laptop, and a holographic image of Anthony Ivo appeared. Mr. White said, "Dr. Ivo, CEO of Amazo Tech."

Y/N was surprised and asked, "The Anthony Ivo?"

Mr. White nodded, "Yes. As in, Amazo phones, computers, security, and anything else you can think of."

Clark abruptly added with disgust, "And the man who used his criminal connections to displace a whole neighborhood for his headquarters." He proceeded to show pictures and news articles on his tablet.

"Not to mention the 'accidents' that always seem to hit his competitors," he said, emphasizing 'accidents' with air quotes.

Mr. White quickly stopped Clark from speaking, saying, "But no one has been able to verify those rumors, and we work in facts. Fact is, he's the most eligible bachelor in the city." Mr. White switched the holographic picture to show Ivo with two women.

Mr. White added, "So Cat's writing an interest piece on him. He's throwing a gala for his investors tonight, and Cat wants you four to get pictures of the event and quotes about Ivo from the people attending."

Y/N quipped, "Well, I guess chasing down a billionaire's gala beats hunting aliens in tabloids."

Lois, in both disbelief and excitement, exclaimed, "Wait. Wait, wait, wait. Are you saying you want us to do real journalism?" Her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm, and Y/N couldn't help but smile at the unexpected turn of events.

Mr. White was quick to clarify that it's just for the night, but that didn't stop Lois from happily jumping on Y/N, showering him with kisses. Clearly thrilled, she couldn't contain her joy at the prospect of engaging in real journalism for the evening.

Y/N stood in front of his closet, pondering what to wear for the gala. "Torn between casual and classy," he mused aloud, scanning through his options. As he was doing this, Y/N couldn't shake a subtle unease creeping into his thoughts. Watching Lois and Clark interact about the gala made him uncomfortable, a tinge of jealousy flickering within.

Y/N's footsteps echoed softly across the living room floor as he paced back and forth, his thoughts swirling in a mixture of emotions. He tried to focus on the rhythmic pattern of his steps, attempting to keep his mind occupied and calm. Yet, deep down, an undercurrent of unease gnawed at him, threatening to disrupt his tranquility.

He couldn't help but notice the closeness between Lois and Clark lately. The camaraderie they shared, the knowing glances, the inside jokes—it was all enough to stir a sense of jealousy within Y/N, a feeling he tried to dismiss as irrational and baseless. He knew Lois and Clark were close friends, but his insecurities seemed to find a way to creep in.

"Come on, Y/N," he muttered to himself, running a hand through his hair in a bid to dispel his growing unease. "It's nothing. Lois and Clark are just close. There's no reason to let jealousy get the best of you."

Meanwhile, Lois stood in the bathroom, her hands trembling slightly as she held the pregnancy test in her grasp. Her heart raced, and a mix of shock and disbelief washed over her. The little plastic stick held the answer to a life-altering question, and she was struggling to process the enormity of it all.

She gazed down at the positive pregnancy test, her mind racing with a whirlwind of thoughts.

Lois walked out of the bathroom, and Y/N, sensing something amiss, asked if she was okay. She quickly assured him, stumbling over her words, "Yeah, yeah, I'm okay. Just... you know, gala nerves and stuff." Despite her attempt to appear composed, there was a hint of unease in her eyes.

Concerned, Y/N asked again if she was okay, but Lois, determined to change the subject, brushed it off, saying, "I'm fine, really. Now, let me help you pick a tie. We don't want to be late for our shot at real journalism, do we?"

Y/N chuckled, "You're right, Lois."

Lois couldn't shake the nagging thought of how to tell Y/N about the pregnancy. "How do I even bring this up? What will he say? What do I say?" She was franticly thinking.

Pushing aside her inner turmoil for the moment, Lois joined Y/N and skillfully helped him with his tie. "You know, you really should wear the (Eye color) one. It complements your eyes," she said.

Y/N smiled appreciatively, "Thanks, Lois."

Lois headed off to get dressed, leaving Y/N to finish his preparations.

Lois emerged in her gala attire, and Y/N couldn't help but be captivated.

"Wow, Lois. You look incredible," he exclaimed, admiring her with a genuine smile.

Lois just blushed and smiled.

Back at the Daily Planet, Clark found himself waiting for Lois.

Clark, looking around for Lois and Y/N, spots Jimmy entering with two large bags. "Oh, uh, hi, Jimmy. Have you... Have you seen Lois? Or Y/N?" he asks. Jimmy grins, "Not yet. But look at what I've got," as his bags knock over a few magazines.

Clark raises an eyebrow, "The Planet's entire camera room?"

Jimmy laughs, "Okay, ha-ha, Clark. But, seriously, I need every one. This is a fish-eye lens." He pulls out a camera, excitement evident in his eyes.

As Clark bent down to pick up the magazines, his super senses honed in on one that seemed to hint at his secret identity as Superman. In a quick, nervous motion, he discreetly ripped out the page and deftly tucked it into his pocket, making sure Jimmy remained oblivious to the potentially revealing information.

Lois and Y/N arrived, and she asked with a playful smile, "What do you think?" She then did a quick spin, showcasing her gala attire. Clark, momentarily distracted from his earlier discovery, couldn't help but be impressed. "You look amazing, Lois," he complimented with a genuine smile.

Lois and Clark walked towards each other, exchanging blushes. "Ready to go to the most exclusive high rise in all of Metropolis?" Clark asked, holding his arm out to her. Lois grinned, "And spend the entire night together? Almost like a... a..."

Before Clark could finish his sentence and things got more intimate, Y/N and Jimmy, ever the interrupters, jumped in. Jimmy said, "An awesome evening with four best friends!"

Jimmy and Y/N exchanged a knowing look, silently communicating their relief at interrupting the potentially awkward moment.

Livewire and Black Manta discreetly arrived at the gala, cleverly concealing their true identities. Dressed in carefully chosen disguises, they blended into the crowd, their intentions shrouded in the glamour of the exclusive event.

Leslie looked stunning in a sophisticated floor-length gown that was perfectly suited for the gala at Ivo Tower. The dress was an elegant deep blue, which accentuated her striking features. The bodice of the dress was adorned with delicate silver embellishments that sparkled under the soft lighting of the gala, adding a touch of glamour to her ensemble.

The gown featured a tasteful V-neckline and a fitted waist that accentuated her figure. The skirt flowed gracefully from the waist, offering a touch of timeless elegance. Leslie's choice of attire exuded confidence and style, making her a notable presence in the crowd of attendees.

Black Manta inquired, "Remind me again why we're here?" Livewire, also known as Leslie, responded with determination, "We're here to take back the suit Anthony got from us." A sly smirk played on Manta's face as he teased, "Or is it just an excuse to get close to Y/N?" Leslie blushed, caught off guard by the remark.

Leslie snapped back at Manta, retorting, "Focus on the mission, Manta."

He chuckled, "Easy, Livewire. And speaking of focus, Y/N just arrived." Leslie's expression shifted, and she nervously asked, "Do I look... desirable?"
