Interlude
In the mystical world of the Boiling Isles, a unique bond was forming between three young souls. Y/N Clawthorne, the fourteen year old son of the infamous Eda Clawthorne, found himself in the company of two extraordinary girls - Amity Blight and Luz Noceda.
On a sunny afternoon, Y/N, Amity, and Luz gathered in the cozy living room of the Owl House, surrounded by ancient spell books and enchanted artifacts. Their mission was twofold: helping Eda and her estranged sister Lilith reconnect and learn the secrets of glyph magic.
Amity, her purple hair cascading elegantly, tapped her fingers against the old, weathered tome. "Alright, we need to focus on the basics first. Luz, remember the fundamentals of glyph magic?"
Luz, her eyes shining with enthusiasm, nodded. "Definitely! It's all about connecting your emotions and intentions to the glyphs you draw."
Y/N leaned back, his arms crossed casually. "And how do we get mom and Lilith to learn this?"
Luz looked at him. "Because after what Emperor Belos did, this is the closest thing we can teach them to magic they can use."
As the trio continued to discuss glyphs and magical intricacies, Amity's hand shifted ever so slightly, brushing against Y/N's. His heart skipped a beat, a blush creeping up his cheeks as their fingers made contact.
"Uh, Amity," Y/N stammered, clearing his throat nervously, "your hair looks really, um, cool today."
Amity's cheeks turned a shade of pink that matched her hair. She glanced down at her own locks, a shy smile gracing her lips. "Oh, uh, thanks Y/N. Yours is pretty cool too."
Luz, sensing the moment, tried to hide her grin as she pretended to focus on the book in front of her, but her curiosity got the better of her. "Oh come on, you two. It's like watching a romance glyph unfold in real life!"
As the evening progressed and the trio continued their studies, a comfortable atmosphere settled in the room. Luz's energy seemed to dim slightly, and before anyone realized it, she had leaned her head against Y/N's shoulder, her eyes still scanning the pages of the book in front of her.
Y/N glanced down at Luz, surprised by her action but also feeling a warmth spreading through him. He carefully shifted, adjusting his posture to accommodate her. Their connection deepened as his shoulder provided a soft and welcoming support for her.
Amity, noticing the new dynamic, shared an understanding smile with Y/N. They continued their discussion, now with a gentle intimacy surrounding them, as Luz's presence against Y/N's shoulder became a symbol of camaraderie and trust.
it became apparent that Luz's exhaustion had finally caught up with her. Her head grew heavier on Y/N's shoulder, her breathing deepening as she succumbed to sleep.
Y/N exchanged a knowing glance with Amity, who nodded in agreement. Gently and carefully, Y/N shifted his arm under Luz, allowing her head to rest more comfortably against his chest. With a careful ease, he lifted her into his arms, her small frame feeling surprisingly light.
Amity gathered up their study materials and smiled at Y/N as he began to make his way toward the staircase that led to the bedrooms. She knew the kind-hearted gesture he was making, and she followed silently behind him.
With Luz cradled in his arms, Y/N climbed the stairs and walked down the hall to the bedroom Luz often used during her stays at the Owl House. He gently laid her down on the bed, tucking her in with a soft touch. Amity lingered in the doorway, her expression fond and grateful for the compassion she was witnessing.
As they retreated from the room, Y/N paused, his fingers lightly brushing a strand of hair from Luz's face. He glanced back at her one last time before quietly closing the door, leaving her to the peaceful embrace of sleep.
Amity smiled at Y/N, her heart warmed by his caring actions. "You're really something, you know that?"
Y/N chuckled softly, a hint of a blush on his cheeks. "Just doing what feels right."
As Y/N and Amity settled back downstairs, the room felt charged with a newfound closeness. Amity's heart swelled with gratitude for Y/N's kindness, and the warmth in her cheeks only intensified when she thought about how much he meant to her.
Unable to resist her feelings, Amity found herself leaning in and pressing a gentle kiss on Y/N's cheek. Her actions were a reflection of the emotions she had been harboring, and the moment was a testament to the deepening bond between them.
Y/N's eyes widened in pleasant surprise, his own cheeks taking on a tinge of pink. "Amity," he began, his voice gentle, "thank you."
Amity met his gaze with a mix of determination and vulnerability. "Y/N, I want you to know that I don't care about what my parents used to say. I've seen who you truly are, and you're nothing like what they labeled you."
Y/N's heart skipped a beat at her words, his own feelings of appreciation growing stronger. "Amity, I'm glad you see that. And I promise, I'll always be here for you."
Amity's confession hung in the air, her vulnerability shining through the tears that welled up in her eyes. The weight of her emotions had finally caught up with her, and the walls she had built around her heart began to crumble. As the tears spilled over, she looked at Y/N with a mix of regret and sincerity.
"Y/N, I'm so sorry," she choked out, her voice trembling. "I know I hurt you when I ended things between us years ago. But I need you to know it wasn't because I wanted to."
Y/N's expression softened, his heart aching for the pain Amity had been carrying. He reached out and gently wiped away her tears with his thumb. "Amity, you don't need to apologize. I've always valued our couple thing."
Amity took a deep breath, her voice shaky but determined. "I did it to protect you, Y/N. My mother... she can be cruel and controlling. She said she'd find a way to hurt you. I was keeping you safe."
Y/N's gaze held nothing but empathy as he absorbed her words. He pulled Amity into a comforting embrace, allowing her to release the emotions she had bottled up for so long. "Amity, I appreciate your intentions, but you don't need to carry that burden alone. We can face whatever comes together."
As Y/N and Amity held each other in their emotional embrace, Y/N suddenly felt a sharp, stinging pain in his head. He winced and instinctively brought a hand to his temple, his brows furrowing in discomfort.
"Y/N, are you okay?" Amity's concern was evident as she pulled away slightly to look at him, her eyes wide with worry.
Y/N woke up in the car as Lois was driving to Stryker's Island. His breathing was rapid, heart pounding in his chest, as he tried to shake off the remnants of that dream that had felt all too real. Turning his gaze toward Lois, who was driving, he rubbed his temples and muttered, "Just a dream... it was just a dream."
Lois glanced at him with concern etched in her features. "Y/N, are you okay? You looked like you were having a nightmare."
Y/N nodded, though the unease didn't quite leave his eyes. "Yeah, Lois. It was just a dream. But it felt... different. More like a memory than a dream."
Lois furrowed her brow, her curiosity piqued. "A memory? What do you mean?"
Y/N's voice was tinged with uncertainty as he tried to articulate the inexplicable feeling that had lingered from the dream. "I don't know, Lois. It was like I was somewhere else, someone else. It felt so vivid, so real. But it couldn't have been. It was just a dream."
As the words left his lips, Y/N's thoughts seemed to spiral inwards, caught in the dissonance between what he believed to be true and the lingering emotions from the dream. He mumbled to himself, more to sort out his thoughts than anything else, "What? What the hell was that? Was that... me?"
He shook his head, eyes wide with a mix of bewilderment and disbelief. "No. That can't be. No way."
The dream's imagery danced in his mind, vivid and haunting. Faces, places, moments that felt so close yet so foreign. Memories that weren't his, but had nestled themselves in his consciousness with unsettling intensity.
"No," Y/N's voice was a firm whisper, his hands clenching into fists. "Those aren't my memories. That isn't me."
Lois looked at her boyfriend in concern and kissed his cheek, as they arrived at Stryker's Island.
Y/N's sudden headache had ceased, leaving him with a sense of bewilderment and curiosity. As he turned his attention to Amity, he felt compelled to share the strange experience that had just unfolded within his mind.
"Amity," Y/N began, his voice tinged with a mix of intrigue and uncertainty, "I don't know how to explain it, but for a moment, it felt like someone else was seeing through my eyes. Like I was sharing my senses with someone else."
Amity's violet eyes widened with interest, her own curiosity piqued by Y/N's revelation. "Wait, what do you mean? Are you saying that someone was watching what you were seeing?"
Y/N nodded, a thoughtful expression crossing his features. "Exactly. It was like a brief glimpse into another perspective, someone else's perspective. I could sense their thoughts, their emotions, even though it lasted only for a moment."
