[ Prologue - Meeting Skid and Pump ]

It was a cloudy afternoon in the late September, the wind picking up the colorful leaves, reminding you that Autumn was starting.

You sighed as you looked out of the restaurant window, before looking back at your purple haired friend. "Is there something wrong [Y/n]?"
She asked you with a worried look
"Oh no no, everything is completely fine! Just.. thinking." You gave the purplenette a grin, making her smile in return

"Back to what I was saying, it's really hard to keep an eye on my energetic son and his dear friend. It's just that... many stuff have been going on lately, and I'm worried they might get in trouble! A really big trouble! I feel like they're a trouble magnet.. and the worst is they never realise it, they're too young to even realise it. I'm worried that something horrible might happen to them! And I just don't know what to do..."

Your friend stated her worries to you. You gave her a frown as you felt bad for her, so you tried to think of a solution. Your eyes light up, meeting her gaze. "I have an idea! What about a babysitter?" She smiled at your idea.

"What a wonderful idea [Y/n]! But.. I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to afford one. Babysitters these days are so expensive." She frowned once again.

"What about.. I'd babysit your son and his friend..? I might not be a professional babysitter but I know how to please a child and take care of them."

"Oh please, I don't want to bother you." She had her hands placed on the table while looking away, you then grabbed them making her look at you.

"Lila, please. You've done so much for me and plus you're a dear friend of mine. This would be like a small favour for all these things."

"[Y/n].. Thank you so much." "Of course Lila, I'm always here for you."

You and Lila stood in front of her door. She then looked into the bag, taking out a key with cute keychains around it.

She pushed the key in the door and unlocked it. "Ready to meet the kids?" She glanced back at you over her shoulder as you nodded at her. "Of course, after all I have already met Skid when he was still a baby." You giggled at the memory of Skid.

Both of you walked inside, as you took of your shoes and jacket and Lila did the same. "Oh he's grown so much already!" Lila chuckled and then turned her attention

"Skid? Would you please mind coming downstairs?" Lila shouted, not in an agressive way, but loud enough for him to hear.

"Yes mom?" A small child appeared on the stairs, a ravenette with black-brownish eyes.
He then noticed you and looked at you with curiosity. "Is Pump with you?" He nodded, still staring at you with a confused look. "Would you go and get him please?" He nodded, before hurrying to get his friend "Pump"

When they came downstairs, Lila told them to sit on the couch as she dragged you with her to stand in front of it. The other kid named "Pump" had a brown curly hair and brownish - green eyes.

"Sooo.. Kids.. I'd like for you to meet your new babysitter [Name]! [Name] [Last Name]. From now on, they'll babysit you whenever you go out. Or well.. most of the times."

The kids frowned at the new information
"But moomm.. we can take care of ourselves!" Skid said as he pouted, crossing his arms. "Yes I do believe that, but your adventures sometimes get... out of hand and I'd like for someone to keep an eye out on you two. Once you'll get to know them better I'm sure you're gonna like them!" She said proudly, her hands on her hips as she smiled at the boys. You kept staring at the kids with an nervous expression,

It was currently about 1:00 in the morning, and you were watching your favourite series named inside job. You were watching the season 2, which just came out about a hour ago. You were at the second episode, but then you heard someone knock. You got startled, before the knocking got faster and faster. You got up to walk to the door, muttering curses under you breath.

You then stopped in front of it, holding the handle. You thought about that it could be the new serial killer that just started killing not a long ago. And he still wasn't caught.

You considered not opening the door, but then. Why would a serial killer knock when he could just barge into your house if he wanted to? You opened the door. You then looked down to see Skid and Pump in their costumes.

"Kids? What are you doing here so late?"
You asked them. They then looked at eachother. "Because... It's the spooky month!" They said making a pose, before doing a small dance. "Oh it's the spooky month?" You said smiling, before doing the small dance as well.

"What should we do now?" "Let's go play a horror videogame!" Skid answered Pump.
"[Y/n] can we go inside and play a videogame?" They asked you, looking at you with puppy dogs. You sighed but let them inside, making them shout "Yay!"

You watched them go inside your house, before jumping on a couch, and starting a videogame on your nintendo switch. It was a game named "Luigi's mansion"

You leaned on the couch, standing. It was about 2 weeks since you started babysitting them, and they sure did take a liking to you.
And you have to admit you did take a liking to them as well. You cared for them as an older sister. Also you found out they loved "spooky month" and would usually dress in costumes when going out. You weakly smiled at the thought, before a sudden appearance of a popular "ooga booga" scared you, making you jump.

The two boys turned around to look at you, before giggling, making you glare at them.

"Let's go to the movies! [Name] do you want to go with us?" The kids looked at you with a pleading face. You looked at them, looked at the Tv, before looking back at them.

You then sighed, nodding at them. They then dragged you with them. When you walked out of your house, you noticed a police car at Lila's house. Two police officers then came out of the house, holding a red devil-man in a red sweather. The devil-man then turned to look your way, he had a huge and creepy smile which seemed to never flinch, adorning his features.

You flinched, before taking your eyes off him. But he never seemed to take his off you.

You tried to ignore him while walking with Skid and Pump to the movies.

• After the movie, you went to the Candyclub. The kids ran there leaving you alone. You sighed for atleast the third time today, before trying to catch up with them.

When you walked into the Candyclub, you noticed the kids talking with a ravenette, about your age. "Fineee, I'll give you the candy for free. But you owe me." The kids laughed in satisfication, taking the candy from the man.

When they walked to the exit, you stopped them and told them to wait for you in front of the store.

The guy was counting the candy he gave the children, sighing. He then turned around and noticed you. "And what can I do for you?" He said, smiling weakly while his eyes showed how tired he was, with eyebags under his eyes.

"Oh! Well I'd like to pay off the candy you gave those kids. How much did the candy cost? Also, I'd like 10 pieces of [your favourite candy name]"

"Let me count it.. I'll be done in a minute."
You then nodded at him, before looking all around the candy store.

"Soo.. you here with the kids? Why so late?" The guy asked you, taking a glance at you.

"Long story short, these two knocked at my door at 1 AM, we went to the movies and noww we're here." You chuckled.
"Wow your sleep schedule must be amazing, am I right? Judging by your eyebags." He made a sarcastic remark, before looking at you. "It sure is. But that's what I get for being their babysitter hah."

The man then looked at you with a worried look. "I can't even imagine being their babysitter. Them coming into the candystore is enough for me." He laughed and you laughed with him.

"That's true. But they're really nice kids and fun to be around. Ah also I didn't get your name if I may ask?"

"Oh it's Kevin. And yours?" "[Y/n], but feel free to call me [Nickname] anytime."

"Thank you for the candy and the small talk. But I'll have to go now. Be careful out there you know. I mean, can't have my favourite candy clerk killed right?" You joked before waving at the man behind the counter and walking out.

Kevin waved at you back, his face relaxed, smiling weakly. "Yeah.. see you.." he muttered to himself after you left with the kids.

He then realised you called him "your favourite candy clerk" when you left, making his face turn ten shades of red.

Author's important note : YAY I FINALLY FINISHED THE CHAPTER AS I PROMISED! EVEN THOUGH I FOUND OUT THAT I HAVE 10 MISSING ASSIGMENTS UNTIL MONDAY PLUS EXAMS! I love my school. Also plot wise, I tried to make the first chapter based on the first episode "spooky month", but it's pretty short and it doesn't make sense in a fanfiction way so I tried to portray it more realistically and yeah. The updates may be slow, sometimes they may be fast, it depends on how busy I am 😭 but I'm pretty hyperfixated on Spooky month atm so maybe they'll be fast! Also I know that Kevin didnt appear in episode 1 but I had to add him bcs I love him sm AHH
