5 | Haunted Eyes - A Poem
The haunted eyes of a spirit, long gone, long awake;
A coffin long forgotten under the snowy grass of the ghost's lake;
Long forgotten bones with an unknown skull lie inside;
Whilst the lantern is the soul's own special guide.
As the moonlight glistens under the sunlight's disguise;
The skulls and bones of those forgotten, writhe in their tombs;
And though all in this graveyard met a bitter demise;
The haunted eyes of a spirit show they're still alive.
On all Hallows Eve they party until the break of dawn;
Celebrating a life that was once worn;
Their shadows dance under the moonlight, as they drink to their health no more;
The words of one forgotten, as they're lead through Heaven's door.
The haunted eyes of a spirit, forgotten, but alive;
On All Hallows Eve they wander down streets where they once breathed life;
As children run amok, and parents run to follow;
The haunted eyes of this spirit have never looked so hollow.
