Holland : Business Partners

"We are just business partners."

Warning:
– short

Dance had always played a big role in my life; I am definitely passionate about it. I feel chuffed moving my body through the beat of the music, and just having a relationship with the song itself or whatever is around me. What makes everything even better is that I am very much blessed with such an amazing partner, Tom Holland. The special thing between us is that we had been working for around nearly a decade, the next thing is that because they say that we both have chemistry.

I breathed in and out to calm myself down. My heart rate started to increase rapidly every single second. Tom and I were invited to this talk show, and I honestly don't know how much the host will roast us. I was pretty antsy and pumped up for this.

"Are you ready Y/N?" Tom asked wrapping his arms around my shoulders.

"Ready as I can ever be!" I answered back sarcastically.

We hung out on this little dressing room of mine for today, doing just anything silly we could think of. We were not allowed to goof off like the usual, for we were styled neatly and presentable enough for the show. In the middle of singing songs out of its tune (it was planned), we heard the screeching sound of the door open which revealed to us a woman, one of the backstage personnel perhaps.

"Ms. Y/L/N and Mr. Holland, your up next. Just after the short commercial break." She said with such a sweet voice, gesturing us to follow her lead.

We made our way through the halls that were full of equipment or props for this show. The lady had us ready with the microphones to be used along with one of her male coworkers. She was doing mine whilst the man tried to manage Tom's. It was already our turn to go on stage by the moment the two finished. The only thing we waited for is the cue, or introduction, from the host, Ellen Degeneres.

"And now without further delay, let us welcome Tom Holland and Y/N Y/L/N!" She exclaimed giving us an amazing entrance.

Walking towards her was probably one of the most delighting moments of my life. I was overflowing with happiness. Sitting down on the couch next to Ellen got me the "starstrucked" feels immediately. I had never thought that I would be able to become a guest on this show, not a single moment in my entire life.

For the first minute, Tom was the one who talked to Ellen. I just joined in after a minute and a half, the moment when I knew that the topic would shift to us dating or not.

"About ten years of dancing together, and you have chemistry obviously." She stared at me. "Some people say that there is more than chemistry there, that you are a couple. Well that is what they say, and I think that you've heard that before. So, I mean, are you a couple?"

Pictures of us dancing together, face to face, were shown on the screen, making me chuckle a bit. It wasn't just me who somehow released a bit of laughter, but the audience and Tom did too. I gotta say, the pictures might mislead people who don't really know us; there was this one photograph in which our lips were almost touching.

"We are not." I smiled looking at both Tom and Ellen. "But we always say that it is a big complement to us because what we portray whenever we dance is very important to us. That is why the fact that the people feel invested in our partnership is truly remarkable. Every time we finish our dance and I look at him in the eye, I just look at Tom and I am just so grateful to live the last ten years by his side."

"So you are a couple." She said causing us to burst out in laughter again.

"We are just business partners." Tom smiled.

"And if we were, we would announce it here. This would be the place." I added.

"I mean in ten years, there wasn't even a single time you two dated at all?" She asked.

Tom then took over, and told everyone the story of how we were being set up by our friends and believe it or not, our families too. Yes, we did sort of dated back when we were just beginning. Nothing really grand happened, but the most enchanting thing it produced is this partnership slash friendship that we still have right now. I mean, who would have thought that about a decade after all those things, we would still be dancing with each other.

"So you'll settle down and start a family?" Ellen joked.

"Families? Yeah." Tom chuckled.

"Oh, you're gonna marry different people and stay together." She looked at Tom.

"Yeah!" He grinned.

"We're gonna take a break, and we will come back to test how much chemistry you really do have together." She paused. "Even though you're not together, but you should be."

During the lull, Tom and I exchanged looks that cause us to laugh. If you know the feeling that visual contact with someone you are really close with is enough, and that you two completely understand each other, then you know what we exactly feel. To tell you the truth, I can say that we somehow have this platonic love for each other, which is the reason as to why we don't really know what our true relationship is. For now, we came up to label ourselves in a way that only the two of us can understand, and it is that we are business partners in this industry.

This is my first imagine and I gotta day that it is short. I promise that I'll make longer ones. I just really loved this idea lol.

Anyways, this was inspired by Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir's interview with Ellen. If you guys don't know them, they are ice dancers. I was supposed to put the Definitely Not Dating Game part, but I just thought of cutting it there.
