14 | Dani
A thrill shoots through me as Enzo pulls me through the back alley, his hands steady in mine, warm and inviting.
"Where are we going?" I whisper, like we're two teenagers sneaking out and doing something we're not meant to be doing.
"Town tour." Enzo says over his shoulder, signature grin in place.
I don't reply, tightening my hand in his.
He winks and keeps leading me forward, his grip never faltering. We reach a dark motorbike, stashed behind the ice rink. I laugh, "Did you have this all planned?"
"Maybe," he says, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Got any complaints?"
I shake my head with my own smile, letting him lead me closer to the bike and directing me to sit down. I straddle the bike, the leather cool under my thighs like the bike had been sitting for a while, untouched.
In a town like this one, that is unheard of. As soon as Enzo let it alone, it should've been stolen or graffitied or something. But here it was, pristine, perfect.
"Should I trust you?" I tease, but my heart pounds with anticipation, fingers resting on the leather as it warms under my touch.
"Should you?" he murmurs, leaning in close, his lips only a hairsbreadth from mine.
Maybe it says something about my mental state that I want to say yes right away, but I do trust him. I'm more broken than I thought I was, to trust a complete stranger with my life.
He pulls out a helmet and gently places it on my head. It's the only one he has. "Wheres yours?"
"Got a hard head."
"You also got a death wish?"
"Trust me, Angel, death wouldn't know what to do with me when I come knocking on his door." He grins, the smile pulling at his cheeks. "Now, safety first, Angel." He winks and holds it towards me, "May I?"
I nod and let him place the helmet on my head but before its fully on, he swoops and steals a kiss. "For Goodluck." He murmurs against my lips and steps back, pulling the helmet down.
I blink, watching him through the open visor, grinning and hoping he can't tell.
"For what it's worth, Dani, you can trust me." Then he's lowering the visor, and my vision is completely blacked out.
I can't see a thing.
I feel his fingers tracing along the exposed skin of my neck, each touch heightened by my blindness. I feel him as he moves behind me and then his hands are on my hips, pulling me back roughly on the bike and my stomach swoops, heat coursing through me. He laughs lowly at the noise that exits my mouth and then he's gone from behind me, the heat of his body at my front as he takes his seat. The roar of the engine drowns out any noises, the purr of the bike rushing through me.
"Hold on tight."
I do, my hands moving around him, cold fingers slipping under the loose material of his shirt.
Enzo sucks in a breath, and then I feel his hand over mine through the shirt, squeezing and pulling me tighter around him.
With my vision impaired, everything around me is more . . . Alive, unrestricted. I can feel every dip the bike takes, every turn and every acceleration. As we ride, my hands explore his chest under his shirt, eliciting a low groan from him that sends shivers through me especially when my hands move north, finding his nipple below his shirt.
"You trying to get me to crash, Angel?"
I laugh, "Death wouldn't know what to do with me either Enzo, maybe he'd just send me back here to wreak havoc."
He laughs, low and rough before I feel the bike pull to a stop and his hands are on my thighs, rubbing up and down.
His touch tantalising and greedy. He reaches behind and grabs my ass, whispering, "Fair's fair, Dani. You grope me, I grope you."
I laugh, feeling hot and bothered, but before I can respond, we're riding again. The cool touch of the night air whips around us, carrying the scent of salt and the sound of crashing waves.
The bike slows to a dull purr, before stilling altogether and stopping. Enzo disappears for a fraction of a moment before reappearing at my side, his hands helping me off the bike.
"Are we near the cliffs?"
"Have you always been this nosy?"
"I told you, curious mind."
Enzo doesn't answer, leading me further along while I follow like a fool.
The grass beneath our steps gives way to something harder, like concrete or stone and then it's only the rush of our breathing and tap of footsteps that I can hear singing along with the waves melody.
"We're coming up to steps, I've got you."
My heart pounds in my chest, but I follow his lead, the soft whispering as he alerts me to another step and another.
By the tenth step, and the twisting of Enzo's grip as he leads me on a curved staircase I know where we are.
The old abandoned lighthouse. I used to sneak up here to meet Johnny when I was younger, he owned this place, ruled it like a child's playground.
My heart drops, sweat gathering at the base of my spine and I close my eyes behind the helmet.
Enzo knows. He's leading me to my death, straight to Johnnys door and delivering me on a silver platter.
What gave me away?
I straighten my shoulder and take those last few flights in silence, reaching the top quickly before the helmet is being lifted off my head and I'm blinking at the sudden brightness.
We're alone.
Relief washes over me—I'm not going to die tonight. A part of me is disappointed by that realization. Enzo smiles and holds up a key, "I've got the only key to this place." Then he's moving aside to show me the room, decked out with a lounge, blankets, pillows.
"You bring girls up here often?" I quip, looking around.
"You're the only girl I've ever brought up, scouts honour." He holds up three fingers with an innocent grin.
"Were you a scout?"
He laughs, "for a whole month until I got booted."
"For what?"
"That secret is for the dirt and the bugs when they finally put me in the ground." He winks.
"You always so full of secrets?"
"Why, Dani, are you saying you want to unwrap me and discover each dirty one?" He holds his hands out by his side, like he's inviting me to strip search him.
I step forward, closing the distance between us and slip my hands under the fabric of his shirt, feeling the heat of his skin at my fingertips.
"That depends, are you worth unwrapping?"
"Come find out." He hands drop around my waist, pulling me that extra distance and closing that space between us before he's kissing me like a man starved.
I murmur against his lips, "you know I'm -" I think of the right word. "Seeing Vincent too, right?"
"I know." He mutters against my lips, "but I'm not going anywhere." He seals the promise with a kiss. "And I don't think Vinnie is either, so you're just going to have to deal with us both."
"I'm not choosing." I can't.
Enzo pulls back, looking into my eyes like he wants me to take him seriously as he says the words. "We don't expect you to."
For a moment I'm confused, what type of person is willing to share you with his best mate, to just wait around while you have your fill until you choose one of them at the end.
But I don't want to choose one of them. I want both damnit, and a girl should be able to have both. Especially a girl with a death wish.
If by the end of this mission I'm going to be buried six feet under I want to atleast have something to smile about while I stare at the dirt.
"Now, are you going to let me eat you out as you stare at the stars or are we going to stand here yapping the whole time about my best friend because I have to tell you angel, as hard as you make me if I keep thinking of Vincent's mug then I'm gonna go soft and I can't have that."
I laugh, shaking my head at him before letting him lead me towards the couch, his hands moving toward my top as he pulls it over my head.
"You'd make a priest sin, Angel."
I fight the blush from taking over my cheeks, but it's in vain, the heat a telltale sigh that I failed.
But I don't care, not when Enzo removes his own shirt and I'm looking at eight perfect examples of why Enzo has a few secret admirers in this town.
Below the belt not included.
I'm afraid that when I do see what's below the belt, I'll never be able to get enough of him.
"Lay back," Enzo commands, "keep your hands to yourself, Angel. I can see how much you want to ravage me but you're going to have to control yourself." He grins. "Do you think you can control yourself, Angel?"
I move my hands behind me, wrapping my fingers around one wrist while I stare at Enzo through my lashes. "Let's test it out."
He chuckles, low and dark. "I'm not sure you'd like the punishment I have in store if you don't."
. . .
Authors note. Dont worry I will be writing and publishing the sex scene but right now I just don't have the mental fortitude to write it but it'll be soon.
