8:00pm, outside of Inkopolis Plaza...

Lai: Take care you both!

Callie: Let's meet again after this!

Lai: Sure, will do!

They took their leave after dinner and they both were headed to their stages for tonight's performance. I'm still being my usual self like sitting on the same bench everytime during the Splatfests while watching the Squid Sisters dancing on their stages joyfully. I try to think about at the start.. When I started to live with them, people here are just being jealous or envy of me because of that event after the result of the first Splatfest. But now, everyone was kinda respecting me after mending the Captain's broken relationship, winning the first beta game of Battle Royale, saving the Turf War Superstar and heck is, teaming up with the Red Plumber Mario to put a stop to that Nutshell at the Mount Wario. But still, they all didn't know about how all the Zapfishes and the Great Zapfish were being saved and retrieved back to Inkopolis after the missing cases except Arnick I think. To be honest, it's way better than people knowing that it was us so they won't try to swarm us just to get autographs from us early in the morning. In the end, we sure had a lot of fun back then, but it's all in the past right now. Kinda upset tho. You know what? Let's just enjoy tonight's Splatfest so all of us can go back to our home. But not for me and the Squid Sisters because we still have one last moment just for the three of us so we have to wait until no one's in Plaza except us. Ah! Gotta buy some ice creams before it ends..

Timeskip... 10:00pm..

After the festival and everyone had gone back home, I sprint as fast as I can to where the Squid Sisters are and meet up with them.

Lai: Hey!

Callie: Ah there you are!

Marie: Ready to enjoy our last moment?

Lai: Yeah! No time to waste right here! ^^

Marie: Alright, let's go!

We all super jump to the top of the Inkopolis Tower. Then, I set the ice cream box on aside, Callie was sitting in the middle as usual while Marie and I were sitting both beside her.

Callie: Alright, this is the last Splatfest we had from now on. Let's make it a memorable one!

Marie: Yeah.. We heard you.. Why not just record the whole process?

Lai: I don't think that's necessary. But maybe we can take a wefie here!

Callie: Sounds great! Let's do that!

She takes out her phone and opens the camera app. Then, she stretches out her arm until it could fit all three of us in the frame. She presses the button then it snaps a picture with the three of us fits in it perfectly.

Callie: There it goes. Gotta buy a photo frame for this!

Lai: Here's your sea-salt ice cream!

I take out some ice creams from the box and handle it to them.

Marie: Seriously? Are the stores ran out of flavor except Sea-salt?

Lai: Well, I got used to it. Any problems?

Marie: But since it's super sweet, can't complain about it.

Lai: *chuckle* That's right..

We all start savoring the taste of it while watching the night view.. After a couple minutes, Callie starts to ask to break the silence..

Callie: Hey, do you guys think this is acttually a fate?

I ask in curious but cheerfully..

Lai: Why you say that?

Callie: Well, our gramps was the one who recruited me before Marie.

Lai: Oh really?

Callie: Yeah, and we started our career together in Inkopolis. Then two years later, Marie picks you up from the event and you got recruited by our gramps as well! Don't you think it's a fate?

Lai: Yeah.. You might be right. Hey! I almost forgot these!

Callie and Marie: ?

I take out a fancy, squid-shaped box from my pocket and show it to the Squid Sisters, I can see that they are already amazed by the box. I open it up in front of them and inside of it contained with three star-shaped pendants with our signature colors glittering in each of it. (Author's note: Still remember these?)

Marie: Whoa, so when did you afford these?

Lai: Well, I was planning to buy as a birthday present from a long time ago but a part of me feels it's too normal for it. So I decided to keep it until the last Splatfest.

Callie: That's so sweet of you! But I guess it must had costed you a bomb, right? How can we repay you?

Lai: Well, it was a long time ago so I already filled it up tho. You two don't have to do that for me.

Marie inspects the pendants for a while, then ask..

Marie: So does it have a name or something?

Lai: Yeah.. They called it "Wayfinders". And they said the one who wears it always stay in connection, no matter how far they are.

Callie: That's nice. Hey! Why don't you help us wearing it. I'm sure it'll be more meaningful in this way!

Lai: Sure, it's my pleasure!

I take out the Magenta and the Lime Green from the box. Callie raises up her hair while I'm helping her fitting the pendant around her neck and then Marie. Both of it were slid on and fell perfectly around their neck.

Marie: So how do we look?

Lai: It fits perfect on you both.. *sob*

Suddenly, a tears had escaped from my eyes and it drips on the ice cream that I'm holding with. The Squid Sisters noticed it.

Callie: Lai? What happened?

I quickly wipe it off from my face, holding my cries and look away.

Lai: *sob* I don't know... Somehow, I just felt so happy. But at the same time, I felt a bit upset because it's all in the past right now.

Callie: Lai...

Lai: How can I get so lucky? Lucky that I got chose by Marie and walking on the same path with you two..

Marie: It's okay.. You don't have to bring this up. We both still remember it clearly..

Lai: I just wanna say... Thank you... Thank you so much... for all of it...

Callie: Don't say that.. We all still being our usual self and we'll be together, all of us.. We promise..

Marie: Yeah, Cal's right. We should keep moving forward.

Lai: Got a point there.. Sorry if I ruined the mood.

Callie: It's okay.. People sometimes also had missed their good ol' times.

Lai: Yeah..

She takes out the Azure Blue one from the box

Callie: Now it's my turn to help you out.

Lai: Okay...

I quickly wipe off my tears and turn my face at her. She gently wraps the chain around my neck and it slid on and fell perfectly as well as them. She commented with a grin.

Callie: You looked so fresh with it!

Lai: Thanks..

Marie: So are we cool yet?

Callie: Yeah, what do you think?

Lai: I guess we are..

Then, I finally said out to them from the bottom of my heart..

Lai: I love you girls.. 💙

Marie got surprised and they both reply back to him happily..

Callie and Marie: And we love you too. 💜💚

The tears stopped after hearing it from them. Then, we all enjoy the ice creams and the night view to our utmost, together.. We both enjoy chatting and chilling on the tower until the ice creams run out.

Lai: Ah.. I guess there's no more of it in the box.

Marie: Alright then, let's go home..

Callie: Sure!

All of us super jump from the tower and land back to the Plaza. Then, we start heading home. Well...
