At 6:00am, Thursday.

Callie's POV

I got up from my bed early and check my phone, it was earlier than usual but I felt that I'm actually had a nice sleep and I don't know how, "Maybe that boy from the last night?" I walked out from my bedroom, brushing my teeth and got dressed after taking a shower. I had a Japanese green tea and just two slices of bread as my breakfast, I also had prepared breakfast for Marie as well. After that, I sit on the couch, start to think and question myself about that boy from last night. "Is just coincidence or Marie's actually planning something else?" I thought to myself. Then, my mind got interrupted as Marie just got down from upstairs. "Morning, Cal." She said. "Oh, Good morning too, Marie!" I responded happily. "A penny in your thoughts?" Said Marie while having her breakfast. "Nothing, just resting tho." I responded. "The Splatfest has been ended tho, so I wonder which team had won?" I asked. "Well, we'll know once we get our answers in the studio." She replied. "And the Inkling that we had chose, you sure about this?" I asked curiously. "I don't know yet, because we haven't meet him face to face even once." She replied my question. "Ah okay.." I smiled because I can't wait to see the splatfest results and yea, him!

At 8:00am

Lai's POV

The splatfest has already ended but the event, "I wonder who'll be the lucky squid to meet those two idols." I thought. Well, maybe the news will give the answer. I got out from the apartment, intending to wander around in Inkopolis for a while then wait for the Splatfest results in the Plaza.

At 12:00pm

In the plaza, I saw other Inklings were hanging out as usual or waiting for the Splatfest results and the event. I was in the cafe, having my green tea now. The news were broadcasting just in time. I saw Callie smiles with pure joy when her team won the splatfest from the screen and Marie seems a little bit depressed but no hard feelings for her loss because there's always a splatfest for her to win. "About the event, we had chose the Inkling as a volunteer home with us." Said Marie. "And the name is......" They about to reveal. But I had never expected this in my life. It was me. "Lai!" They said my name loud.

I was so surprised that my eyes widened after they said my name. "Meet us in the studio, little cutie!" Said Callie. I got blushed by her words. I paid the bill and walk out from the cafe immediately. "Is lady luck smiling on me or the fate has been destined?" I thought to myself while heading toward the studio what they had told me to. When I had arrived to the studio door, I took a deep breath for not been nervous, then, I knocked the door for informing them that I had arrived.

Marie: Oh, there he comes.

Callie: Come in!

Lai: Okay!

*Open the door*

Marie: So you must be Lai, huh?

Lai: *nod* Yea..

Callie: Nice to meet you, Lai! *smile*

Lai: Thanks Callie, and it's nice to meet you girls. *smile back*

Callie: You're welcome!

Marie: Mind if I ask you for a question?

Lai: Of course.

Marie: So do you have a team during battles?

Lai: No, I'm currently don't have a team.

Marie: Just alone by yourself?

Lai: *nod* Yes..

Callie: Aww... That's sad.

Lai: Well, that didn't bother me too much, so I'm okay with it.

Marie: Okay then.

Callie: So Lai, if you have time, would you like to come home with us?

Lai: Sure, I'd love to, but when?

Callie: Of course now, silly. *giggle*

Lai: Ehh?

Marie: Forgot to tell you, we'll be off after having our lunch just for today.

Lai: Ah okay then, guess I'll wait at the plaza for you girls.

Callie: Then we'll have a nice conversation once we got home. *smile*

Lai: That's a deal then. *smile back* Stay fresssh~ *giggle*

They both laugh.

I got outside from the studio and start to wait at the plaza. After some minutes, I saw three yellow Inklings walking towards me, it was two boys and a girl. Seems not quite friendly for me. I already know what their deal is.

Lai: What do you guys want?

Yellow Inkling boy 1: We'll settle this at the alley.

Lai: (Things can't be worse.)

At the alley..

Lai: *sigh* I don't have time for this child's play..

Yellow Inkling boy 1: But we gotta deal with you first!

Lai: *sigh* It can't be helped, here goes...

After lunch

Marie's POV

I was got out for a bit after having lunch and Callie rests in the studio. I saw there's a conflict in the alley, It was Lai, fighting with two Inkling boys.

Lai's POV

I dash towards one of them before they react, I punch to his stomach multiple times and brutally smashed his face, sending him back.

Yellow Inkling boy 2: You'll pay for this!

I swiftly dodged his attack and brutally kick his stomach and then his face, sending him back as well.

Yellow Inkling boy 1: We ain't done with you yet!

He's charging at me like a bull, I quickly lift up my left leg and it hits his face directly. After he facing up, I swiftly perform a spin kick to his face again and punch his stomach to send him straight back to the girl. After that, they're got themselves defeated.

Lai: You guys done yet?

Yellow Inkling boy 2: Shut up!

It angers me a lot because they said they'll do something harmful to the Squid Sisters for not choosing them. To end this fight quickly, I dashed towards him and punch up directly to his face, giving him a backflip. I grabbed his head and smash against the wall while the other one were yelling because the pain he just received.

Lai: Listen up, trash cans! I'll protect the Squid Sisters no matter what! So don't you guys dare playing any tricks on me, especially them!

Lai: I really meant it, I swear to cod! So just give up!

After finish saying, I smash his face against the wall once again, causing him to start bleeding.

Lai: ARE YOU LISTENING WHAT I'M SAYING!?

Then, I glare at him with deadly looks...

Yellow Inkling boy 2: Please let me go, we won't do this anymore..

I push him back to the yellow inkling girl, telling her to take care of them. She apologises about what her two brothers had did to me and start leaving with them.

Lai: *pant* Hope those girls won't know about this.

But I was wrong, I turn around and saw Marie was just standing there and gasp. But then, she's actually smiling at me.

Lai: Wait! I can explain this, Marie!

Marie: I heard what you had said earlier, so I understand that they try to harm us, right?

Lai: Yeah... And where's Callie?

Marie: She's just resting in her studio for a while. Hopefully that she won't know about what happened here.

Lai: Good to hear that, I don't wanna give her bad impression after we just met for a while.

Marie: Thanks for protecting us. *smile*

Lai: And thanks for understanding.

Man, hopefully I didn't take a hit from them or else Callie will be start worrying about me.

Marie: You're welcome. *giggle*

Callie: Hey guys!

Lai: Oh hey Callie.

Marie: What took you so long, Cal?

Callie: Well, I'm just finished up my things, sorry about that.

Lai: It's okay, should we start going now?

Callie: Of course!

At 1:00pm, arrived at the Squid Sisters apartment.

Callie: So here we are! What do ya think? This place is pretty fresh, right?

Lai: Yeah it is, fresh enough for you two to stay. *smile*

Callie: Yay, thanks!

Marie: Geez, it's just a normal one.

Lai: But where should I stay for today?

Callie: Hmm... I think we currently don't have a spare room for you, sorry.

Lai: Maybe I'll just sleep in the living room, is that okay?

Callie: You can't, It's not comfortable for you to sleep there!

Marie: Well actually, there's a mattress in the store room, Maybe you can sleep in her room, what do you think?

Callie: Of course it's fine for me, what about you, Lai?

Lai: If you're fine with it, so am I.

Callie: Yay!

Marie: Glad to hear that.

Callie: Gotta take a bath right now, I'll be right back!

Lai: Alright then.

Marie: Mind if I ask?

Lai: Sure, what is it?

Marie: You see, since you're living alone in the apartment plus you don't wanna join a team.

Lai: Yea?

Marie: Why don't you come and start live with us?

Lai: Uhh... You sure about this and why? We haven't get to know each other well.

Marie: Well, trust me because I know Callie would be very happy that If you start live with us plus you said that you'll protect us no matter what happens.

Lai: Oh well, I do really mean that at that time. Guess a promise is a promise now.

Marie: *giggle* We'll let you stay just for a day because of the event's condition but I'll wait for your decision, so take your time. Gotta take a bath as well, see ya.

Lai: Okay then..

Callie: Did I missed something else?

Lai: Nothing else.. by the way, how do we spend this afternoon?

Callie: Maybe we should start know each other?

Lai: But I'm currently don't have question in my mind right now, maybe you go first?

Callie: Okay!

Marie: Done showering now.

Callie: Yay!

We spent a few hours for chatting, getting know about each other and we also started to get along so well.

Callie: Man, that was such a nice talk back there, isn't it?

Lai: Yeah it is, thanks for your questions, we'll be able to get along nice.

Callie: Aww... But it's just only a day for you to stay... *dissapoint*

Marie kinda feels bad when she saw her cousin dissappointed looks on her face so she tell her about her and I had discuss about earlier.

Marie: Well Callie, actually Lai and I had discuss about this.

Callie: Hm?

Marie: Well I asked him if he's wanna start living with us from now on, so he can look after us. I let him stay just for a day and wait for his decision.

Callie: C'mon, Marie! I'm sure Lai will enjoy staying with us.

Lai: Yeah.. She's right plus I'm enjoying it already. *smile*

Callie: See Marie, I'm so glad to hear that!

Marie: That was fast, I'll inform this to our manager for letting you stay with us from now on, hope you don't regret this, Lai. *giggle*

Lai: Geez.. Of course I won't.. Marie.

Callie: Yay, welcome aboard! *hugs Lai*

Lai: Thanks.. *blush*

Marie: Should we go out and have dinner together? Its almost 7:00pm.

Lai: Well sure, just pick a casual place, Marie.

I can't believe that I'll be able to live in an apartment with the Squid Sisters, well it's all thanks to Marie because she's trust me alot I guess, but I won't let her and Callie down so I'll have to look after them from now on. After having dinner with the Squid Sisters, we got back home and changed to our pyjamas. I got the mattress from the store room. Then, Callie and I had put it on the floor next to her bed. She questions me about her room...

Callie: So how's my room? Does it looks fresh for you too?

Her room was all pink and a bit shade of red but it looks just like magenta. Similiar to Callie's signature color tho.

Lai: Yea, it looks very cool and fresh tho..

Callie: Hehe~ Glad you liked it~

Then, a question had popped up in her mind suddenly..

Callie: Oh Lai, can I ask about the splatfest?

Lai: About the splatfest team? Well, I chose Team rice.

Callie: Nice! Me too. *yawn* I'm going to sleep right now.

Lai: What about Marie?

Callie: Don't worry about her, she's a night owl. She'll go to sleep once she's getting tired.

Lai: Oh well, Goodnight and sweet dreams, Callie.

Callie: Nighty-night and sweet dreams as well, Lai!

It was a wonderful day for us, not only we can get along so well, we also start living under the same roof as well. I'm sure this fate has been destined us to be together.
