Marie's POV

It exploded.. Octavio was falling but he got landed on the Great Zapfish. We all took a sigh of relief. Callie pokes him, checking if he's still alive..

Callie: Is he alright?

Marie: Yes, he's fainted. We need to arrest him before he wakes up.

Then, gramps had walked up to us. Giving the three of us a loving hug.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Oh my sweet children, I've seen you guys had grown a lot now!

Marie: Well, thanks to him and Cal. So we managed to get him.

Lai: Hey, you're in part of it too.

Callie: Everyone, look!

She points at the Great Zapfish that it currently flies towards us. Then, it stops in front of us..

Callie: What's it gonna do?

Lai: Maybe it wants to give us a ride back to Inkopolis as in return.

Marie: Oh well, that's our ticket home then.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Let's go, Agents!

All: Right!

Timeskip...

Lai's POV

After a fierce battle with the final boss, Dj Octavio. We all finally can rest right now and the five of us are currently riding on our way home with the Great Zapfish flying through the beautiful night sky. Callie was sitting next to me, gazing at the stars while Marie was chatting with Cap'n and Dj Octavio was still unconscious and he got imprisoned in a large snow globe as well... I look up at Callie and talk to her..

Lai: Hey Callie?

Callie: Yes?

Then, I look away and apologize to her...

Lai: I'm sorry..

Callie: Ehh! For what?!

Lai: I know we're team but, I still battling alone without you. So pathetic I am...

Callie: Lai...

Lai: I just worried about your safety tho. But because of that, I didn't let you come with me like we promised..

Callie: It's okay, I couldn't leave gramps alone by himself tho.

Lai: But still...

She wraps my arm and says with a grin appears on her face...

Callie: Don't blame yourself, Lai. I know you're protecting me. Just like when we're in Blackbelly Skatepark.

Lai: But you don't like being overprotected, do you?

Callie: Of course I don't! But still better than unprotected tho.

Lai: *sigh* You got a point there..

She smiles and teases me a bit..

Callie: Aww... C'mon, where's the Lai I know? The one who always dotes me a lot almost everyday. *smile*

I smile by her tease and chuckle... Then, I reply to her...

Lai: Heh.. Right in front the girl I loved..

Then, she blushes and hides it as she notices...

Callie: Hehe~ Sweet as always.

I smile...

Lai: So you're not mad at me now.

Callie: Nah, I'm just pouting tho but I'm okay right now. So don't you worry!

Lai: Callie...

After hearing what she had said, I sigh happily and reply with a grin.

Lai: Well... Glad to hear that..

As we fly through the night sky, the wind was fluttering through her pure black hair tentacles and floating gracefully in the air. We look up and gaze back at the star, she leans against me and gives a peck on my cheek. Then, she rests her head onto my shoulder.

Callie: Thank you for everything, Lai.

I chuckle and I couldn't help it but keep smiling...

Lai: No problem, Cal.. The Inkopolis is safe now..

We silenced for a while to enjoy the view together. The moon was shining brightly in the sky and the clouds were floating below us. I try to have a chat with Callie to break the silence.

Lai: Man.. The view is great, isn't it?

Callie: Yea totally it is! We literally can see all the stars from here!

Lai: Yea, I couldn't agree more with you tho.

After we chatted for a while, we both finally make an eye contact to each other. Her golden eyes still shines brightly even in the night time.

Lai: We sure had a great journey today..

Callie: But a short one tho. I wish this could go on like forever..

Lai: Well, we still have one more day off tho. What you wanna do tomorrow?

Callie: Oh yeah I clearly forgot! Hm... Maybe we can go on for some turf war matches.

Lai: Sounds good I guess... Hope Marie will join us this time.

Callie: I'm sure she will!

Lai: Hope so..

With Marie and Cap'n...

Cap'n Cuttlefish: *sigh* Can't believe it was Octavio tho.

Marie: So how you gonna do?

Cap'n Cuttlefish: We'll see Agent 2... Might the trip will be canceled because I have to keep an eye out for him from now on. But you three can still go on a trip if you want.

Marie: Damn it.. But what about you, gramps?

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Sorry Agent 2, I might not coming with you tho. As the leader of the Squidbeak Splatoon, I have to look out for any Octarians activities.

Marie: ...

Cap'n Cuttlefish: ...

Marie: *sigh* Just take care of yourself, will you? And don't make us worry again.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: I won't, Agent 2..

After a while, he takes a glance at Agent 1 and Agent 3 are talking each other...

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Agent 3 sures did a fine job back there. Glad that I recruited him in the first time.

Marie: Hey! What about us? Don't we get something for rescuing you? *pout*

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Ah yeah! My precious granddaughters were doing pretty well too. Ahaha... *sweatdropped*

Marie: *giggle* Much better now..

Timeskip...

The time is currently at 8:30pm now. As the Great Zapfish went down through the clouds from the sky, we can now be able to see Cap'n's shack from here. It slowly landed there and we jump off from the Zapfish.

Callie: Ah! Back to Octo Valley! Finally!

Marie: Now Callie, release the Zapfishes!

Callie: Roger that!

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Agent 3? Mind if you help me carry this snow globe?

Lai: Okay!

She released all the 20 Zapfishes from the aquarium that we had collected so far in Sector 3, 4 and 5 while Cap'n and I were carrying the snow globe..

Lai: Ugh... He's heavy.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Cod.... Octavio, how much you weight yourself in these years?

Dj Octavio: Grbbb... Why should I tell you? My weight always in 63 pounds!

Lai: You gotta be squidding me...

During this night, all the Zapfishes were glowing brightly with yellow lights and flew back to the Great Zapfish. Then they're now peacefully flying back to Inkopolis and powers up the whole city, or should I say "Our home" right now...

Lai: Phew...

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Ah... My precious cuttlebones...

We set the snow globe next to the shack and those two, Callie and Marie were watching the Zapfishes flying to Inkopolis...

Callie: So beautiful, like fireflies...

Marie: It takes me back to our childhood in Calamari as well..

When they're enjoying the view, Cap'n turns at me and asks..

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Finally, the peace had returned to Inkopolis.

Lai: Yea.. Glad we did it tho. And nobody will ever know about this.

He sighs... Then, he apologizes..

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Sorry Agent 3..

Lai: Hm?

Cap'n Cuttlefish: You have done so much for us and yet you still putting yourself through the dangers that I never intended you to experience.

I sigh as well and reply to him...

Lai: Well... If you wanna thank, I guess it's for your granddaughters tho. Without those two, it might took me like days to free all the Zapfishes.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: But still, you deserved a thanks.

Lai: You're welcome then.

We turn and look at them, who're still enjoying the night view of the glowing Zapfishes...

Cap'n Cuttlefish: When I recruited you as Agent 3. I thought it was a small, undercover work. But I had no idea that Octavio was behind all this and the worst is, he's preparing for another war.

Lai: So you want us to keep this as a secret?

He nods...

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Yea, our goal is to achieve the peace of the relation between our races. If the Inklings found out about this, the chances of ever achieving would be lost.

Lai: I understand, Cap'n. No one will know about this. I guess the same goes to those two as well.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Well, that's my grandkids I know! Haha! *twirling his beard*

Lai: *chuckle* Yea indeed...

After talking with Cap'n, Callie walks up towards me and grabs my hand.

Callie: Lai, let's go back to Plaza!

Lai: Coming!

We catch up to Marie and start heading back to Inkopolis Plaza..

Marie: C'mon, let's broadcast it in this night!

The Squid Sisters jumped into the manhole and took their leave first. Then, Cap'n suddenly calls out to me and I stop. I turned around and saw that he was holding the Hero suit.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Here, you can have the Hero suit from now on.

Lai: Really?!

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Oh yeah and I got the Octoling suit for you too! Might comes in handy during battles.

Lai: Thanks, Cap'n!

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Now have fun, you guys!

Lai: Bye Cap'n!

I went into the manhole...

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Octavio.. Old friend. There is so much we need to talk about..

Dj Octavio: Grrr...

At 9:00pm, at Inkopolis Plaza...

I finally got back to the Plaza and I could feel that I can sleep up for a whole week. I sat on the bench and looked at the people around here, there's a lot of Inklings and Jellyfishes were gathered around here and they're having their discussion. Then I stare up at the top of the Inkopolis tower, seeing that the Great Zapfish is circling around it and powering up the entirety of this city.

Lai: Guess they had gone back to the studio for the Newsflash...

The screen shows up the broadcast...

Callie: Okay, it's late, but we've got a midnight Newsflash!

Marie: Wait, what's going on?! What time is it?

Callie: The Great Zapfish is now back on Inkopolis Tower!

Marie: Whoa, for serious?! That's a shocker!

Callie: Where was it anyway? I guess we'll never know!

Marie: Well, hey, at least it's back now!

Callie: Ah, a happy ending! Wanna blast one more song?

Marie: Oh sure, why not!

As they start playing the song named "Maritime Memory". I was still sitting there and enjoying the song, it was chill, relaxing and it's really match up for the ending tho. Oh yeah I forgot! Here's the credit for the staff in the staff roll!

The song just ended as the staff roll ends as well. All people were clapping hands and most of them were shouting "Booyah!" as a celebration for the return of the Great Zapfish. I clapped my hands as well and they all had celebrated in this midnight.

Timeskip...

At 11:30am

Most of the them had gone back to their home and I still in the Plaza tho.. Waiting for the Squid Sisters at the outside of the Battle Dojo so we can finally return to our home as well.. The Booyah Base had already shut down the business and the lights are slowly turning off as well.. All the people had went to the train station and took their ride to home so it's just the three of us are still in the Plaza...

Lai: (C'mon, it's getting late.)

Then, I heard a voice coming next to me and noticed it immediately. It was Callie and Marie and they had exited from their studio. We talked during our way back to the apartment.

Callie: The party was lit, wasn't it!?

Marie: Yeah and we totally burn it down tho!

Lai: It is.. *yawn*

Callie: Aww... Tired already?

Lai: Yea, I feel I could sleep a whole week.

Marie: Me either... Let's just go back home and get some sleeps for tomorrow.

Callie: Well, we still have one day left so what you guys wanna do? Catch a movie? Shopping? Or playing turf war?

Lai: Heh... We'll decide tomorrow... Right Marie?

Marie: Yea, let's get some well deserved rest first..

Callie: Okay!

"Let's head home."

We walked out from the Plaza and heading back to our apartment. We got changed and I jumped onto my bed and fell asleep immediately...
