"I'm home!" Serena called as she shut the front door behind her.
"Oh, Serena! You're tracking ink all over the floor!" Their mother scolded.
"That doesn't matter! I have big news!" Serena said, shoving her bag aside and running over to the table where Hunter and their father were sitting.
"Did something exciting happen?" Their dad asked, eyes sparkling in shared excitement with his daughter.
"I saw those two older inklings again!" Serena replied, hopping up and down.
"Really, did you guys win again?" Hunter asked.
"No, I lost. They were on the winning team. I must have been splatted at least eight times by them!" Serena was being a bit too cheerful about defeat but Hunter ignored it. Tomorrow he'd start up his missions again with Serena. Everything would go back to normal. Well, as normal as fighting the enemy race in secret is.
