At 6:00am, Tuesday. At the Squid Sisters apartment.

Lai's POV

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

The clock just woke me up from my sleep with the alarm. I turn it off and yawn, still laying on the bed tho. I glance at the time and it's currently 6:00am. I got out from the bed and start walking out from my room. The place was pitch dark because the sun hasn't rise up yet at this hour. I went to Marie's room and open the door slowly to check on her. Still as usual, hugging her pillow tight while still sleeping soundly on her bed. I closed the door back and headed to the kitchen. Preparing breakfast for the two of us with some bacons and eggs, also with a glass of Lemon Tea for me. I left a note on the table, along with some of the breakfast on the plate and a glass of Milk Tea for Marie after I finished my breakfast. I dressed myself up with gears after taking a shower. I grab my weapon and strap the Ink tank on my back. I also grab the key and lock the door before I went outside, then I start heading to the train station..

Timeskip... At 7:00am.

Marie's POV

My eyes opened up as the bright shone at my face. I got up into sitting position and rub my eyes to clear the vision. Then, I got out from my bed and walked out the room. I went to Lai's room to check up on him. As I expected, he already got up like usual. I closed the door and headed to the living room. I saw a note on the dining table along with a glass of Milk Tea and some bacons and eggs. I picked up the note and start reading it.

Marie,

I had gone to the Inkopolis Square for the meeting so I left your breakfast on the table along with your favorite drink. Please enjoy. From Lai. 💙

After reading it, I chuckle and smile...

Marie: Geez, Lai... You're still remember that Splatfest tho.

I sigh dreamily... About he's still able to lift up my mood even when things had gone bad or worse, that's why I was so carefree yesterday just because of him.

Meanwhile...

Outside the Ammo Knights... With Pearl sitting on the ramp with her Splat Dualies and Marina was just walking around the Galleria with her Splat Brella equipped on. And they both also wearing their own disguises tho..

Pearl: *yawn* Are you sure he'll be here soon?

Marina: I don't know, I kinda doubted tho. Inklings doesn't wake up at this hour usually.

Pearl: Man, this is so boring! I shouldn't trust him like that! Coming here wasting my time!

???: Oh, am I wasting your time right now?

Pearl: Eh?

She notices there's a shadow had appeared in front of her. Then, she looks straight up and sees Lai who was currently looking straight down at her from behind. She got surprised by that.

Pearl: Eekk! How did you even get behind me!?

Lai: Well, you clearly didn't notice me when I was reading the note hanging at the Grizzco Industries.

Pearl: Then, why you didn't call me!? We've been waiting for like a minute!

Marina: Oh there you are! Sorry Lai, she's a princess from a rich family so she doesn't like to wait.

Lai: Well, that shows her personality. -_-

Pearl: Alright, so what's the deal anyway?

I pointed at the manhole...

Lai: Through that manhole, it'll take us to the Octo Canyon and our hideout.

Pearl: Aw yeah! Let's go!

She turns into her Squid Form and slipped through down the grate first. I patted Marina's shoulder.

Lai: Don't worry, Marina. Cap'n doesn't see species at all.

Marina: Are... Are you sure?

Lai: Yeah! He might be happy when we're having an Octoling as one of our Agents!

Marina: Uhm... I guess you're right..

Lai: Then, I'll be waiting you at there. See you!

I jumped inside the manhole in my Squid Form before Marina does with her Octo Form.

Timeskip...

*Blop*

I walked forward as I just arrived at Octo Canyon. I saw an Enhancifier that Sheldon was talking about is located near to the shooting range. But, I don't see Pearl around here.

Lai: ...Not the time tho. I had to look for Pearl.

I went across the metal plank as the bridge to Tentakeel Outpost. Then, I saw her standing at the edge of the floating island. Currently viewing the whole city from here afar. She turns around as she notices someone's behind her.

Pearl: Hey! Mari-! Oh, it's you.

Lai: Enjoying the view?

Pearl: Yeah! This place is dope, dude! I can't wait to let Marina to see this!

Lai: I bet she's coming right now.

As we hear the footsteps, we both turned around immediately..

Lai: Ah! And there's Mar-!

I notice that it was Marie instead of Marina.

Lai: Marie!? When did you get here!? Where's Marina?

Marie: Well, she had lost her way in the underground system and I brought her here. Anyway, what're you two doing?

Marina: Hey, guys!

Pearl: Oh hey, Marina! Check it out! The view is actually dope!

Marie walks up to me with upset looks. I laugh nervously..

Marie: I thought I would be carefree if you were truly worried about Callie. I didn't expect you were flirting with another girl behind her back!

Lai: Wait! We didn't do anything! I just met up with her for like a few seconds ago! ^^"

Marie: Is that so?

Lai: *nod* It's just a misunderstand! Please don't splat me!

With Pearl and Marina...

Marina: Uhm... What happened between them?

Pearl: I had no clue... *sweatdropped*

Timeskip... In the Cuttlefish Cabin... With everyone included Cap'n Cuttlefish.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: I see you brought two new recruits with you, Agent 3.

Lai: Yes, this is Pearl and Marina. The rapper and the DJ from "Off The Hook".

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Off what hook?

Pearl: It's "Off The Hook". Geez, you know it's a band name for idols like us.

Marina: Relax, Pearl.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Oh, okay. Let me introduce myself, I'm Cap'n Cuttlefish. The leader of the New Squidbeak Splatoon. You two probably know Marie is Agent 2 and she's one of my granddaughters as well.

Pearl: What!? Marie was part of it too!?

Lai: Yeah, she's Agent 2. Agent 1 was her cousin and her partner, Callie.

Marie: Gramps, Agent 3! I told you not to tell anyone! I don't want people going ballistic over me!

Lai: Geez.. Marie.. It's okay since they're gonna be one of us.

Pearl chuckled to herself..

Pearl: Wow... A popstar is a secret agent saving the world at the same time. Who would've thought of that?

Marina: I guess this world is full of possibilities, Pearl.

Lai: So what do you think? Wanna join us and save the Great Zapfish from the hand of Octarians?

She crossed her arm...

Pearl: If Marina agreed, I'll join!

Lai: Marina?

Marina: *nod* Yes, I will!

Pearl: Then, count me in!

Lai: What do you think, Cap'n?

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Well said, guys. Pearl will be Agent 5 and Marina will be Agent 6 from now on.

Lai: Eh? Who's Agent 4 then?

Marie: Hehe... I had prepared something for you.

Lai: What is it?

She gave me her handmade set of new Hero Suit. A yellow-green zipper hoodie, with the shoulders and upper arm areas having a reflective material. A small set of headphones that are shaped like a more conical shape of an Inkling's ears and a pair of black puffy boots that are strapped down to a pair of black and orange tracks of anchorings. Also, she gave me a new primarily yellow Hero Shot.

Marie: Go get changed with it. And today, you'll be Agent 4 from now on!

Lai: Wait, what!? But I'm Agent 3!

Marie: I already told you yesterday, you really need a change tho. So let's put down your old Agent 3's identity and change into your new Agent 4 one.

Lai: I had no idea that I actually got promoted or demoted? -_- And I bet you're still talking about my hygience.

She stutters nervously as I stared at her..

Marie: Ah.. No, no, no! I don't mind that anymore. Anyway, you should get yourself changed already. ^^"

I let out a sigh...

Lai: Whatever.. It'll be rude if I reject your gift.

Marie: Well, see you at the outside. Agent 5, Agent 6, let's go!

Agent 5 and Agent 6: Right!

I changed my gear to my new Hero Suit when they all went outside, including Cap'n Cuttlefish. After done changing, as I got outside to meet up with the others.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Ah, everyone's here at last! You can introduce yourself now, Sheldon.

Agent 5: Ugh... I had to listen to this nerd right now...

Sheldon: Ahem! Greetings, Agents! I'm Sheldon from the Ammo Knights! The only weapon shop in Inkopolis with over 542 million years of trusted service! Your Cap'n had told me everything. To think my signature weapon can be of help to the New Squidbeak Splatoon. I'm honored!

Marie: So where are the big guns you're calling?

Sheldon: Oh, I had sent the drones with each type of weapons carrying around the Octo Canyon. But first, I had a gift for Agent 5 and Agent 6!

Agent 5: Huh?

He snaps his finger and then two of his drones had floated beside him. They slowly landed the suitcases on the ground, Agent 5 and Agent 6 open the suitcases and receive Hero Dualies and Hero Brella.

Agent 5: Whoa, dude! This is so fresh!!

Agent 6: The design was perfect as well! Thanks, Sheldon!

Sheldon: You're welcome, ladies! As for the others, you'll receive it once you entered a kettle! But...

All: ?

Sheldon: I'm afraid I can't just let you guys treat my vast arsenal like All-You-Can-Ink buffet. I do have business to run, you know.

Marie: Yeah, no surprise...

Sheldon: I want you guys to test out some new weapons that I'm currently developing. All you have to do is to use them in real-world condition. If you'll do that for me, I'll be able to gather all sorts of amazing data. When I got enough of them, I'll make the retail versions of the weapons so you can use it in turf war once they're out! Oh yeah and...

Marie: Okay, down. Boy. I think we all get the point.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Let him finish, Agent 2.

Marie: Ugh.. Right..

Sheldon: Thanks, the machine next to Cuttlefish Cabin is the Ammo Knights Enhancifier! My top-of-the-line vending machine for upgrading your weapons and add bombs to your arsenal! Also, it takes Power Eggs and Sardinium instead of cash!

Marie: Okay, you done yet? Cuz we got work to do.

Sheldon: Done!

Agent 5: Let's go, guys! I can't wait to splat some Octarians with these babies!

Agent 6: 5! Wait up!

They all heading to Suction-Cup Lookout by launching themselves with the launchpad.

Marie: Let's go, Agent 4!

Lai: You sure you don't wanna change your charger?

Marie: Nah, I'll just stick to my "Best friend". You got any problem?

Lai: Nope, let's just go and meet up with them!

We rode the launchpad that launches us to where Agent 5 and Agent 6 were...
