12:00pm at Octo Canyon.

We just completed all three kettles in Tentakeel Outpost and the boss kettle has now unlocked. As I took a view around the canyon, I could see there are other sectors just deep down below Tentakeel Outpost. This time, they're using launchpads instead of Ink rails for connecting each one.

*blop*

Lai: Phew... Finally clear all three of them..

Marie: Yeah and I'll not enter the third kettle from now on. I hate those Ink Pistons in the end.

Lai: They popped up really fast. But now the boss kettle had unlocked, let's go!

Marie: Don't be so hasty, let's report back to Cap'n first.

Lai: Ah, okay.

We went back to Cuttlefish Cabin with the Zapfishes that just got rescued by us. Cap'n was just sitting at the porch, probably waiting for us as well. Then, he noticed us.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Oh you guys came back? How's it going?

Marie: Pretty fine I guess..

Lai: It's a bit different but harder than in Octo Valley. Seems they had developed some new mechanics in their hideout.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: No wonder...

Marie: Hm?

Lai: What do you mean?

Cap'n Cuttlefish: After the Inklings had won in the Great Turf War and the Octarians had retreated to the underground. They set up their first base in Octo Canyon, then Octo Valley.

Lai: So that means...

Marie: Their HQ must be here somewhere..

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Yeah and it's just deep straight down below Tentakeel Outpost like the other sectors.

Lai: So should we do something to improve ourselves?

He twirls his beard while still holding his Bamboozler.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Hm... I need some time to think.. In the meantime, you two should get going and retrieve the Zapfish from the first Octobosses.

Marie: Let's go, Agent 3.

Lai: Right!

We went back to Tentakeel Outpost and entered the boss kettle..

Timeskip...

*Spawn*

Lai: Alright, you ready?

Marie: Born ready, just try not to drag me down, Lai.

Lai: You bet I won't.

We ride the launchpad and land at the arena. The Zapfish was just in front of us.

Lai: *sigh* Still the same as always..

Marie: I agreed.. I guess they don't have any tricks to use right now.

A scarred tentacle just snatched the Zapfish and submerged back to its ink. Then, A layer of oven had slowly showed up from its ink and it turns out it's a 425° degree of pain, Octo Oven. We were dumbfounded...

Marie: A loaves of bread in a huge oven? You gotta be squidding me. -_-

Lai: Yeah and why there's even a face at the end of every loaves too? -_-

It roars out in furious..

Lai: Well, except their new arsenal!

Marie: Split up! Find a chance to counter attack it!

Lai: Right!

We split up to two sides, trying to distract it while dodging its deadly punching attacks. We kept circling around it. Then, after a few tries. Its system was overheating, causing it to jam and all the bread was punched out. Giving us a chance to splat its weak point. We climbed up onto the bread and swam up the wall to the top. Then, we kept shooting its scarred tentacle which is its weak point.

*Splat*

It popped and we super jumped off from the Octo Oven as it regenerates its tentacle back. Some of the walls on its body was covered with inkproof armor.

Marie: Nice! Donut stop! We knead to keep going!

I sport a grin and give a thumb up for that puns she just made.

Lai: Nice puns, I guess.. *grin*

It pops out a couple of ink pillars at every corner of the arena.

Marie: Mmm! Churros! Wait, nope. They're just columns of ink.

Lai: Why do I feel that you're actually just starving tho.

Marie: You guessed it right.. I haven't ate my lunch yet.

Lai: Well, me either.. *Sweatdropped*

Then, it roars out again..

Marie: Split up! There are fewer walls on the oven to climb now!

Lai: Noted that!

Its punching attacks had became more rapidly. But we kept circling around like usual. Then, all the bread was punched out and it got jammed completely. We climb onto the bread to bread and swam up the inked wall. We start splatting its tentacles and it pops. We super jumped back as its tentacle got regenerated back.

Lai: Nice!

Marie: Good. But doughn't stop loafing around or things might go a rye.

Lai: Nice puns too. ^^"

All of its bread was covered with armor as well, making us even harder to climb. Then, more ink pillars had popped out from its body. Marie got herself confused by the armored bread.

Marie: Wait, what!? Armored bread? But... Armor? On bread?

Lai: I had no idea... Huh?

I noticed there's some kind of glazing machine has appeared, I got shocked and it's gonna sink us down with its raining ink. I grab her hand and drag her as fast as I can from the glazing machine.

Lai: Not the time, Marie! Some kind of glazing machine has appeared!

Marie: Sorry! Can you let go of my hand first!?

Lai: Okay! Just don't get yourself confused by that again!

The machine stops raining and it attacks us with its bread. We dodged to aside and split up again. But we could barely dodge all the breads while the ink pillars are keep getting in our way. We weaved in and out, trying our hardest not to get hit by it. Then, all the bread got shot out again and we climbed as fast as we can to the top. I blast it with two Splat Bombs and Marie splats it with a full charge shot. We super jumped back before it starts exploding.

*Boom*

After it exploded, we wiped off the ink from our face. Seeing the Zapfish was just laying on the ground.

Marie: Well, it reminds me of the very first Splatfest we had.

I let out a sigh...

Lai: *sigh* Yeah.. With Callie...

Marie grabs the Zapfish and we returned back to the kettle.

Timeskip...

After defeating the first Octobosses, Octo Oven. The electric barrier had been deactivated and a launchpad to the next Sector had shown.

*blop*

Marie: Cap'n? We just got the Zapfish from the boss kettle!

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Nicely done, Agents! Glad you came back! I had good news for you guys!

Marie: What is it?

Cap'n Cuttlefish: You see, I made a contact with Sheldon from the Ammo Knights and he'll be coming to assist us with his huge arsenal of weapons tomorrow!

Marie: That's what we need. And the Octarians had developed some new Octobosses from their disposal as well.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Things are getting more difficult tho.

Lai: Yeah, in the meantime. We should clear out all the kettles in Sector 2.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Not so fast, Agent 3. Didn't Agent 2 just said they got themselves some new Octobosses. We currently had no idea what they had in stored for us.

Marie: Yeah. Don't be so hasty, we should wait for tomorrow.

Lai: ...

I went silenced...

Marie: You okay, Agent 3?

Lai: Oh... Yeah, I'm fine..

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Maybe you're just hungry. We haven't ate our lunch yet and I'm already craving for some seaweed stew.

Marie: Well, I'll go make some for us.

Cap'n Cuttlefish: Thanks, it's just in the fridge.

They went back inside the Cuttlefish Cabin and left me outside. I put a hand to my chest as I felt something strange inside me.

Lai: (What's the feeling? It's urging me to continue and save all the Zapfishes.)

I shooked my head to clear out my mind and then I went inside to help them out for the lunch as well.
