A VIRUS SPREAD THROUGH the public that burned so hot that you died within a couple days. Then, when you were long dead and your skin turned cold, something sparked. Something that was not your own, like an engine being restarted with no jump. There were whispers. The odd story of cannibals roaming cities. Then they were across the country. Then the whole world was screaming.

⠀⠀⠀Soldiers went into hospitals to kill even the possibility of the infection spreading. Guns blazed, and the world was on fire. Brother against brother until one day, it just stopped. Pre-recorded emergency broadcasts sat on a loop, the internet went down, and then the phones. The world was quiet until the infected came looking for their next meals.

⠀⠀⠀They couldn't talk, only grumbled and moaned. If they weren't eating you alive, someone else was as you got away.

⠀⠀⠀Now, there was only survival. Running until your feet blistered, pushing past the pain until it bursts like a dam, tearing everything inside you apart. There's only rest when there's nothing left to push you forward.

⠀⠀⠀Not when around you, everyone is dead, and you decide to join them, too.

I probably should've mentioned this earlier but I'm the idiot who posted this without finishing the show yet. It's slow going and I just finished season 3.
