Chapter 47
Chapter 47
White's head was throbbing painfully. Her entire body ached, and her face felt blistered on one side. She flinched as she tried stretching out her bruised and burning arm.
The room she was in was freezing cold. She lifted her head off one of her arms to see her surroundings. White could barely open her eyes, so she squinted instead.
She was in a large room with wooden walls and floors. Crates were scattered around the room. It was stuffy and dark, but White could still see.
White looked down and saw that her hands were tied together. She winced sharply as the ropes dug into her skin. Her glove was now tied onto her hand, making it impossible to take her glove off.
Everything started to come back to her. The image of her Raichu was more vivid than anything else. It hurt her to know that her childhood partner was being used by her number one enemy.
White leaned against one of the crates, trying to untie the knots. Her efforts were proven useless. She tried everything she could to get it off, but the rope was too thick.
Giving up, White curled up on the floor. She had no idea how long she had been down in the room, or how long she would have to stay put. She could feel her dead Xtransceiver in her coat pocket, but she was unable to reach it.
The plan that White had thought up seemed childish now that she thought about it. The concealed pokeballs in her two rings were now trapped under her glove, so she would have to wait to be freed from her bonds before releasing Zoroark and Alan. Also, if Ghetsis had been telling the truth and that he had Sky Blue, White had no idea where he could be or if he was even alive. She didn't even know where she was.
There was a sudden thud from above the ceiling. White could hear voices coming closer to the room from above her.
She hissed and ducked behind a large crate, making her leg throb. She tried covering herself with her cloak as something opened in the room.
There was a yelp and another thud. White looked up at the ceiling just in time to see a trap door close.
Someone was panting and hissing from across the room. She peered out from behind the crate, making sure that the person wouldn't be able to see her.
There were two figures. One was slumped over on the floor. The other was smaller than the first, and it was standing next to the other. White was sure it was a pokemon. After a second, she realized they were speaking.
"Those little-"
"M-Maybe they were lying!" the pokemon interrupted the first figure, "They could be just saying that so that you will work harder!"
"I doubt that!" the figure snarled, and White recognized the boy's voice instantly.
"Sky Blue?" she whispered, "Junior?"
The two figures stopped speaking. She saw Sky Blue jump and his gaze landed on her hiding place. Junior the Mr.Mime squeaked and fell backwards.
"White?" Sky whispered back, moving toward the crate. He yelped as he saw White lying on the floor. She felt her face turn red as he bent down next to her.
"Whitney, how-"
"Just get the ropes off, or I'll bite you!" She snapped, holding out her hands.
"Bite me?"
"Yep."
"How would you do that?"
"What else can I do? Just untie me, please!"
"That helps." he snarled, pulling a shard of glass out of his coat pocket.
White tried to stay still as Sky hacked at the rope. Junior was watching her with a surprised and terrified look on his face.
Once she was free, White wheezed and collapsed onto the floor. She felt Sky Blue remove her glove from her arm. He winced as her blackened hand was revealed.
"It's nothing!" White said hurriedly, covering her arm with her cloak. "White, you and I have two different views on black-ish purple arms." he said weakly, gently holding her frostbitten arm.
"Is that from when your arm froze?" asked Junior, staring at her arm. "Maybe." She snarled, wrenching her arm out of Sky's grip.
White removed the two rings from her finger, and she pressed the top of the small pokeballs on them.
There was a yowl and a clatter as Zoroark and Alan appeared out of the red light. Zoroark had ran head first into Junior, making the Mr.Mime yelp and fall to the floor. Then Alan fell on Zoroark's tail, making the dark fox bite the Alakazam's leg.
"Stop it!" White hissed, pulling Zoroark off of Alan. "Let me get him! Let me have a go at him!" Zoroark growled, digging his claws into Alan's foot. Alan yelped and tried to free himself from Zoroark's grip.
"Get off him!" snarled Sky, yanking Zoroark's tail and pushing him away from Alan. The Alakazam leapt on top of a crate as Junior made a large barrier between Zoroark and Alan.
"BE QUIET!" White yelled, and the two pokemon stopped fighting. She saw Zoroark sneer something to Alan before looking at White.
"White, how did you smuggle these guys in here?" Sky asked before she could say anything.
"I found a way to shrink the pokeballs." She explained, handing him the two rings, "I hid them in those rings. I had a feeling that Ghetsis wouldn't take them."
"Oh, you mean he wouldn't go near your purple frozen arm!" said Sky Blue, nodding. White snarled and smacked his hand as hard as she could, making him yelp.
"If you can hit him, can I hit that guy?" Zoroark asked hopefully, tilting his head toward Alan. The Alakazam grunted and glared at him. Junior gave a small giggle.
"No!" She snapped, "Just lay off he each other, ok?"
"I will if he does!" growled Alan. Zoroark's lip curled maliciously, but White pinched his tail. The pokemon howled and leapt away from her.
"Right then," she snarled, looking from Alan to Zoroark, "I think you two know what you're supposed to do, right?"
"Yes." grunted Zoroark, and Alan nodded grimly. The Alakazam suddenly grabbed Zoroark's arm and teleported.
"Can you explain a few things to me now?" Sky asked irritability, rubbing his hand. White didn't answer right away. Junior was watching the spot where Alan and Zoroark had disappeared, looking disappointed.
"I had to get caught." She finally hissed, sitting against a crate, "It was the only way I could find you."
"That's not the main reason, is it?" he said, sitting next to her. White shrugged weakly.
"It's one of the main reasons." White growled, "Another reason I did it was to prove to my brother that I could handle myself. Sometimes I feel like he judges me because of my age. I'm almost four years younger than him, and he will occasionally treat me like a little kid."
"Can you give me a third reason?" Sky asked coldly, folding his arms. She looked at the floor, wanting to avoid answering the question. She felt her friend's gaze on her.
"I don't want anyone to die trying to protect me." White finally whispered, "Ray is the last living being that will die for me. I'd rather kill myself than have someone else die in my place."
Thankfully, Sky Blue didn't continue the subject. "Ok, next question," he snarled, "What did you make Alan do?"
"What do you mean?"
"I know you brought Zoroark and Alan for a reason."
"Well," she started, feeling annoyed, "I brought them for different reasons."
"Name a few."
"Fine. By the way, I'm this close to hitting you." White added furiously, moving her hands a millimeter apart. She waited a moment before speaking again.
"Zoroark went to look for a way out of this place, and is getting our stuff. My knife is the only useful thing that Ghetsis took away. I believe that they took your pokemon and other things that weren't in your bag, right?"
"Yes, and what about Alan?"
"Alan is getting Amos."
Sky Blue suddenly turned to stare at White. "Amos?" he said, sounding frustrated. "Yeah, Amos." She repeated, surprised by his tone, "Something wrong with that?"
"Kinda."
"Then what in name of Arceus are you upset about?" said White, exasperated. "No offense, but he isn't exactly the best choice." Sky snarled.
"I know that, but who else is there? Mira?"
"Your brother."
"No!" She said flatly, "N is the last person I want... here." White felt her face burn. She didn't want to admit that she had no idea where they were.
Sky seemed to know what she was thinking. "We're on the lowest level of that Plasma ship. I should know."
"Well," White snarled defensively, "I want to ask you some questions now." Sky shrugged and looked away from her.
"What happened after I left Opelucid City?" she asked after a minute.
"Can I tell her?" Junior piped up, poking his head out from behind a crate he was scratching on.
"No, because you're going to tell her the truth." Sky snapped at the Mr.Mime. "Good, because I like a bit of honesty once in awhile." growled White, turning to Junior.
"The police tried arresting him, but Zinzolin told them that he would be able to take over his discipline." Junior squeaked, gesturing toward Sky. White smirked as Sky Blue facepalmed.
"Anything else?"
"Well, that was about the time that Team Plasma invaded the city." he explained, "The cops went somewhere else, and we were able to get to that old, wrecked up route."
"Don't say anymore, please!" Sky begged. But Junior wasn't listening to him. The pokemon seemed to be enjoying himself.
"THEN, Zinzolin caught up to us and broke Sky's ankle!" said Junior in a sing song voice. "Wait, what?!" She snapped, staring at Sky.
"I don't like you right now!" Sky hissed at Junior, making the Mr.Mime giggle. White then noticed a white bandage wrapped around the ankle part of his boot.
"Can I finish the story?" Junior asked curiously. "Go ahead." She snarled, ripping a small piece of fabric off of her overcoat. "I forbid you." growled Sky.
Junior ignored him. "And then they fought, and Sky lost. I was in my pokeball after that, so I can't continue the story."
"You make everything sound ten times worse!" snapped Sky, "And White, I'm fine!"
"Dude, your ankle is purple!" White retorted as she examined his ankle. It wasn't the dark purple color of her arm, but it still looked painful. He winced sharply when she tried touching it.
"Mhm, you're perfectly fine." She said sarcastically, wrapping the fabric around his ankle. "Ok, so it hurts a bit!" Sky admitted. Junior snorted but fell silent as Sky Blue glared at him.
"Never mind, tell me what happened after you lost." White snarled at Sky.
"Nothing much happened after that." he growled, "I passed out and woke up here. Ghetsis has been forcing me to make those hearing aids. He wants one done in three days, but I can't finish by then. It takes weeks to make one."
"But you haven't been doing it, have you?" said White, raising a eyebrow. Sky looked at her, apparently surprised.
"How do you know that?" he asked. She smirked and tilted her head toward the ceiling.
"Ghetsis would have killed me already if you haven't been messing with him." She said coolly, "What have you been doing? Making joke items?"
"Yeah, that's what I've been doing." Sky Blue snorted, "I lied and said I was done with the hearing aid. And, well, let's just say he wasn't too happy with me. I rigged the device to shock the wearer."
"I wouldn't be happy either." hissed White, "Is that why he kept me alive?"
"He kept you alive so that I would actually put some effort into making that hearing aid, yeah." he explained, "If I make a wrong move, they'll torture you."
There was a sudden yowl from the ceiling. A red light glowed a straight line through the trapdoor.
"What's that?" Sky hissed, standing up. Before White could speak, the trapdoor burst open, and a pokemon fell to the floor with a yowl. Junior squealed and collapsed on the floor, apparently playing dead.
"Tiny!" White yelped, falling backwards.
Tiny the Espeon was panting and wheezing on the floor. Her fur was ruffled and dirty. The pokemon looked just as scarred as Purr.
"I SAID LET ME DOWN, NOT THROW ME DOWN!" Tiny howled at the trap door. "Well don't mumble then!" Zoroark's voice yelled back.
"But," Sky said quietly, looking from Tiny to White, "Didn't you release her?"
"I did!" replied White, staring at the Espeon, "Tiny, what in the name of Arceus are you doing here?!"
"I was looking for you." growled Tiny, licking her paw, "I-I have a problem."
"What do you mean?"
"I... I have, let's say, six furry little problems."
White stared at her former pokemon. She knew what Tiny was saying, but she didn't want to believe it.
"You're saying," she said slowly, "that you had babies?!" The Espeon's cheeks turned red.
"Wait, how could you have had babies?!" yelped Sky, "Blue Moon has been dead for almost five years!"
Blue Moon was Sky Blue's Umbreon and Tiny's former mate. He had died the same way Ray had. Blue Moon had died trying to protect Sky from the leader of Team Galactic, Cyrus.
"Yeah, well," Tiny grunted, "I guess they came a bit late. I never planned to have little Eevee kids anyway. They just... came."
"Where are they now?" White asked, glaring at the Espeon. "I dumped them on your brother." She sneered, her ear twitching.
"That was rude."
"I was desperate."
"You're pathetic."
"I know that."
"Can you guys save this for later?" Sky asked irritability. "Yeah, right," White muttered, looking straight into Tiny's eyes, "How are you gonna get us out of here?!"
"By this." Zoroark's voice hissed, and a ladder slid down into the room, leaning against the trapdoor opening. Zoroark's head poked out from the opening.
"I advise that you hurry up. Someone is soon going to realize that a few pokeballs, a knife, and a ladder are all missing." he called down to them.
"That's very helpful." Sky snarled sarcastically, "Neither of us can climb up! I got a broken ankle and White has her arm in a cast incase you have forgotten!"
"Will it hurt you just this once to climb up a ladder?" Zoroark shouted, "Come on, we don't have all day! If you want to stay there, that's fine with me!"
White sighed and started to climb up the ladder. She heard Sky Blue hiss at Junior, who was still playing dead. Her leg and arm were throbbing painfully again as she reached the top.
She was blinded by light as she looked around. The trapdoor was at the end of a long hallway. The floor was made of metal, and the walls were white and blue.
Tiny leapt onto the floor next to her, glaring at Zoroark. The dark fox was hanging on the low ceiling. He looked bored and frustrated.
"You took FOREVER." he moaned, landing on the floor in front of her. "Where did you meet her?" White asked him, ignoring his comment. Tiny snorted behind her.
"I honestly don't know." Zoroark admitted, "She showed up while I was coming back here. She said that she needed to see you, and that she heard you were captured."
"Yeah, well she turned up at the wrong time."
"Can I ask you something?" Zoroark asked.
"Yeah, what?"
"What happened to your face?"
"What do you mean?" she asked sharply, feeling the side of her face. White winced at the touch of her own hand.
"Your face, is like, swollen." he said, smirking. Tiny snickered as White looked at the metal floor, trying to see her reflection.
The left side of her face was swollen and shiny. A black burn was on her cheek. She tried to remember what happened that could've caused the injury, but it must have happened while she was unconscious.
"HOLY- What happened to your face?!" Sky yelped as he climbed up the ladder. "I don't know!" She snapped, kicking the ground, "Those Plasma idiots must have done something to it while I was knocked out!"
"You look like-"
"Let's not talk about my face!" She hissed in a deadly voice, "I'm going to look around! You can do whatever, ok?!"
"Fine, fine, fine. Can I sink the ship?" he asked hopefully.
"No!" White snapped, but the corner of her mouth twitched, "Just do what you do best!"
"And what's that?"
"Break something important, the motor or something like that! Just don't sink the ship!"
"Fine, but I can't promise that the ship won't sink." Sky said with a smirk. She snarled and turned to face Tiny. The Espeon was making sure that Junior wouldn't get into the hallway.
"And you," she snarled, grabbing Tiny's tail, "You're coming with me! I'm not finished with you yet!" Zoroark snickered as Tiny rolled her eyes.
"Just promise me that I'll survive your wrath. My little ones don't need another dead parent." Tiny growled as she followed White down the hall. Zoroark was giving Sky Blue his pokemon, and Junior was hiding behind his trainer.
"I won't kill you literally," White hissed back to Tiny, "But I'm gonna mentally rip you limp from limp!"
