Chapter 43

Chapter 43

There's a girl in the corner

With tear stains on her eyes

From the places she's wandered

And the shame she can't hide

She says, "How did I get here?

I'm not who I once was.

And I'm crippled by the fear

That I've fallen too far to love"

But don't you know who you are,

What's been done for you?

Yeah don't you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,

You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

Well she tries to believe it

That she's been given new life

But she can't shake the feeling

That it's not true tonight

She knows all the answers

And she's rehearsed all the lines

And so she'll try to do better

But then she's too weak to try

But don't you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,

You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,

You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

'Cause this is not about what you've done,

But what's been done for you.

This is not about where you've been,

But where your brokenness brings you to

This is not about what you feel,

But what He felt to forgive you,

And what He felt to make you loved.

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,

You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,

You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

You've been remade

You've been remade.

You've been remade.

You've been remade.

White stopped singing as Taxi and Abby came running toward her from behind a building. "White, Taxi scared me!" the Audino wailed at her as White came into earshot. "I didn't!" Taxi retorted. White sighed and laid her guitar next to her.

She had only been in Opelucid City for two days and she was already annoyed with the place. White had tried to ask the gym leader about the item Cobalion had told her about, but he was always out somewhere. Sky Blue and Hugh had arrived in the city a few hours ago, but she had no idea where they were.

White allowed Taxi and Abby to be out of their pokeballs, but Taxi had a habit of leading Abby away to some unknown place and scaring her. She thought that Abby would have learned by now not trust the Electrode.

"What did he do?" she asked Abby. "He took me into a dark alleyway and made scary noises!" whispered Abby. Taxi grunted and rolled around the Audino.

"I keep trying to tell you, the noises weren't me. It was probably some drunk or something." He stopped when White shot him a deadly look.

"I don't believe you!" Abby huffed. White snarled and stood up from the bench she was sitting on. "Taxi, I want this stuff to stop now!"

"But-"

"Don't go leading anymore pokemon down that alleyway, or I'm giving you back to Mira!"

"You wouldn't!" Taxi hissed, shocked. "I would! Now behave!" snapped White. Abby glared at Taxi before running off down the streets. Sparks flew from the pokemon's body as he started to roll around White instead.

"I didn't make the noise! I swear!" said the Electrode furiously. "Then what did make the noise?" she snarled, sitting back down again.

"Don't know, do I?" he snapped, "It sounded like a human. It made a grunting noise. It was muffled though. It also laughed. The voice sounded familiar, but it was probably just me."

White was curious now. "You heard a human?" she said.

"Yeah, but I didn't think it was that strange."

"Why?"

"Well, don't you always sulk in dark alleyways?" Taxi said with a smirk. "Ha ha." sneered White, kicking the large pokeball-like pokemon lightly.

Taxi snickered and rolled away from her. White glared at him and began to tune her guitar.

She found it slightly odd that someone would hide in an alleyway. Residents of Opelucid City stayed in buildings and houses now a days. White only went down alleyways because they were quiet, and no one rarely went down them. Taxi had also said the voice sounded familiar.

"Taxi," she finally said, "Can you show me the alleyway?" The Electrode looked surprised. "Why?" he asked in a sneering way.

"I'm a bit curious about this person you heard." said White, and she stood up. Taxi watched her as she put her guitar back in its case. When she finally picked up the guitar case, Taxi rolled down a deserted street, gesturing for White to follow.

Opelucid City was one of White's favorite cities. It was the town of Dragon Types, and people loved telling the story of Reshiram and Zekrom. One half of the city was based off the architecture from many years ago. The other half was modern day architecture, but looked more like it came from the future.

"Down here." Taxi growled, rolling into an alleyway between two buildings. White looked back before following. No one was around, but she still felt like someone was watching her. She hid her guitar behind a trash bin before running after the Electrode.

Taxi was glowing yellow, and the light bounced around the alleyway. Garbage was scatter across the ground, and words were spray painted on the wall.

"Where did you hear the voice?" White asked. Taxi titled toward the end of the alleyway. White moved a bit closer to Taxi. She couldn't see anything or anyone down there.

"Ok, let's-" but the words barely escaped her mouth before a voice yelled, "Icy Wind!" Something cold had spun around her arm. White screamed and fell to the ground. Her arm was numb and cold.

Taxi gave a loud screech and shot a boulder toward the end of the alleyway. White clutched at her arm and yelled.

It was frozen. From her fingers to her shoulder, her right arm was covered in thick ice. It felt like she didn't even have it.

White closed her eyes. She heard Taxi bounce into a wall, and a loud shriek echoed around the alleyway. Then she heard footsteps. White tried to cover her face, but someone gripped her good arm.

"Well, who is this?" Zinzolin's voice hissed in her ear. White didn't answer. "What's your name, pretty?" he asked in a deadly voice.

"L-Leta." She stammered, using her new, fake name, "Leta Hall."

"Leta," growled Zinzolin, who tightened his grip on White's arm, "You remind me of a person I am looking for. Have you heard of anyone called White Copperstone?"

"N-No!" said White, her voice cracking. She heard something grinding against the ground, and something was clawing at the alley wall.

"Then let's see if you're telling the truth." He hissed. White suddenly smelled something like nail polish remover. Then she felt Zinzolin wipe something wet against her hair.

"STOP!" She yelped, jerking away from him. But the damage was done. White opened her eyes and saw that some of the hair coloring was missing. Her light green hair had reappeared, replacing the once blond hair.

"So, Leta," Zinzolin sneered, forcing White to her feet, "Why is your hair really green?" White didn't answer. She saw a Weavile trying to push Taxi away from the alley.

"Nice try, White Copperstone." He growled excitedly, pushing her into a wall, "But you didn't have a chance. Now, come with me, and don't try escaping."

White didn't move. She stared at him in horror, not daring to look away. She was still clutching at her frozen arm.

Taxi then screeched and rammed into the Weavile's chest. He rolled in circles and shot thunder bolts everywhere. White ducked as Zinzolin yelled, a thunder bolt narrowly missing his head.

"Ice Shard!" he shouted at the Weavile. It hissed, and shot shards of ice at the Electrode. "Thunder!" White screamed.

Taxi shot more thunder bolts, but even more powerful than the first ones. White screamed and curled up on the ground. She heard a bang from nearby, and covered her face with her arm.

"GET AWAY FROM HER, YOU PIECE OF DUNG!" Sky Blue's voice roared. White heard a loud shout and another bang. She didn't open her eyes as she heard someone running away from alleyway.

"White! Are you ok?!" White heard Sky Blue say as she felt him kneel down next to her. She winced as she felt him bump her frozen arm.

"Whitney?" he whispered, and she felt him put a hand on her forehead. White wheezed and straightened up.

She opened her eyes. Everything was blurry and dark. After a minute, she was able to see properly.

Sky Blue was kneeling next to her, his hand inches away from her frozen arm. White saw an Alakazam standing a little bit behind him, holding a unconscious Taxi in its hands. Half of Taxi's body was trapped in ice.

"What happened?" Sky asked before she could speak. "I-I just came down here, and Zinzolin was waiting here! He knew who I was, and he froze my arm! How did you know I was here?" she added, looking around.

"The Audino, Abby." He said, holding up a pokeball and giving it to White, "She heard you. Her ears are super big, and has really good hearing."

"But where were you?"

"The next route. I was looking around there until Abby came. Hugh was there to, but he's still coming."

Sky Blue glanced at her arm. She tired to ignore him.

"White, I don't think you should stay here." He finally said. White nodded. "I know, I'll have to!" She hissed, "Who knows where he ran off to, the little Trubbish!"

Before any of them could say another word, Hugh had ran down the alleyway, his Emboar right behind them. Hugh was sweating, and he was breathing fast. He looked terrified.

"You got to go!" he burst out to White as he reached them, "The sage person, Zinzolin, was with the police! I heard them say something about how he knows where you are! They're coming here now!"

White stood up instantly and stared at Sky Blue. The Alakazam grunted and shifted uncomfortably. Sky and Hugh were staring at White.

"You'll have to teleport with Alan!" Sky said, gesturing toward the Alakazam, "I don't think you're safe in any city now! Head to Route 22, near Humilau City! I'll try and get the cops away from here while you teleport!"

"But Team Plasma wants you just as much as me!" White protested. "Well it's better than you getting caught! They're not gonna kill me!" Sky hissed back.

"Sky, I don't think it will work!" said Hugh, looking over his shoulder, "There were about five or six cops! Plus the cops don't want you!"

"They will when I'm done with them." Sky Blue snarled.

White could hear voices now. They were talking loudly, and she recognized one as Zinzolin's.

"White, grab Alan's arm! Hugh, run!" hissed Sky as the voices grew louder. But neither of them moved. White was staring at Sky Blue.

"You can't just go out and-"

"I know what I'm doing! Now go!" Sky interrupted White. She still didn't move.

"Why are you doing this?" she whispered so only Sky could hear. Hugh looked confused but started to run. Sky looked at her, apparently thinking hard.

"I made a promise, Whitney! I made a promise to protect you! I promised that I wouldn't let you get caught!" He finally said.

"Who did you promise this to?" she hissed. But Sky whirled around as seven cops ran down the alleyway, Zinzolin in front of them. White screamed and backed further away from them. The Alakazam roared and leapt next to her, Taxi still held in one of his arms.

"There she is!" Zinzolin yelled, pointing at White, "And that little ruffian  has been helping her into cities!"

"GO NOW!" Sky bellowed, and Alan the Alakazam grabbed White's good arm. Everything turned black for a minute, but White had closed her eyes. She felt the ground again, but Alan's grip tightened.  White swayed slightly but didn't fall.

She recognized the area they were in as the Hidden Grotto on Route 22. It was small, and there were no pokemon around. White could hear distant voices from outside the grotto.

"That was a close call." Alan huffed, setting the frozen Electrode on the ground, "Do you think Zinzolin knew you were going to come down the alleyway, or was it all just unexpected?"

"I don't know, it was probably unexpected." said White, "I went down that alleyway by my own free will. But that doesn't explain why..." She stopped, feeling sick.

"I'M SUCH AN IDIOT!" She burst out, and the Alakazam jumped with fright. "What happened? What's wrong?" he asked urgently.

"There is some kind of item in Opelucid City gym that Team Plasma is looking for!" White said angrily, "I kept trying to get the item before they came, but the gym leader was always out! The last thing I needed was another charge on my record, so I just waited for Drayden to show up! I bet that Zinzolin was there to try and find the item!"

Alan looked worried and scared. White noticed that he was shaking, and she knew what he was wondering. The Alakazam, like White, must be wondering what happened to Sky Blue.

White sat on the ground and put her head in her hands, not wanting to show Alan her fear. If Sky Blue was arrested or something worse, White didn't know how she would survive. Sky and Mira were the only ones who kept White from killing herself. Now Mira was kept in a hospital in Undella Town, and Sky was who knows where.

White looked at her still frozen arm. She had forgotten about it temporarily.

"Can you get this off?" she asked Alan, holding out her arm. The Alakazam took it in one of his hands. He was frowning slightly.

"I can try." he said, sounding a bit doubtful. Alan raised his other hand and pink sparks flew from his finger tips. A pink light shot out of his finger tips and cut through the ice.

The ice cast fell to the ground in two pieces. White winced and rubbed her wrist. Her arm still felt numb. She had heard of people getting frostbites from those kinds of attacks.

Alan let go of her arm and turned to free Taxi. White took off her overcoat and wrapped it around her numb arm. It felt like little bugs were crawling over it.

After five minutes, Alan had freed Taxi from the ice. He was still unconscious, but White was glad. She wanted to be alone, and she didn't want Alan around.

"Alan," she started looking at Alan, "Can you do me a favor?"

"What is it?" he asked. White stood up and started to pace. The grotto was growing darker. It was probably in the early evening.

"I want you to go back to the Opelucid City and find Sky Blue or one of the others. Don't come back until you have news." She said calmly.

Alan blinked. He shifted uncomfortably and nodded. "What about you?" said the Alakazam, "What will you do?"

"While you're out," she sneered, picking her bag back up and walking toward the grotto entrance, "I'm gonna have a talk with my dear older brother!"

.___.

I had Writer's Block. Sorry if it's a stupid chapter. I didn't put as much effort into this as I usually do. Sorry ;3

White's not happy. AND I'M SO MEAN. I'M TAKING AWAY HER FRIENDS.

I don't know what's gonna happen to Sky Blue, actually >:P If you want to kill someone, kill the person who made Sky swear to protect White.

The song up there is "You Are More" by Tenth Avenue North. Not one of my favorites, but I like their songs. It's late, but I'll try and put a lyric/nightcore  video up sometime.

I'm tired, so I'm gonna go. Sorry if you don't like the chapter >/////< I'll try and make it up. Good night!
