Chapter 42

Chapter 42

Amos was waiting outside Mira's hospital room. It's been two days since her accident, but Amos still hasn't been able to talk to Mira privately. Someone was always in there.

When Leia wasn't training for her second to last gym battle, she was talking with Mira. When she wasn't in there, a doctor or a nurse was there. Otherwise, Mira was sleeping.

But today was his last chance. White had gotten a message to Sky Blue saying that they needed to head to Opelucid City today. Sky had left earlier with Hugh, and Leia was going to go by herself. Amos was going to leave after her.

The doctors told them that Mira would have to stay in the hospital for a few weeks. Even after she would be able to leave, Mira was told that she would have to have a pokemon to carry her. White had left Shane the Gallade for her to use.

Draco, Pinch, Sparky, and Hydreigon were going separate ways from what Amos heard. Draco the Dragonite was going to be a permanent member of Leia's team, since she gave Abby the Audino to White. The Dragonite was still recovering, but was still able to fight. Pinch and Sparky were staying with Mira. Amos didn't know what was going to happen to Hydreigon.

The door finally opened and Leia walked out of Mira's room. "You took forever!" Amos complained as the door shut. "Well sorry!" snapped Leia as she walked past him, "I'm going to go. See you later!" Amos glared at his cousin's back before going into Mira's room.

The room was small, and everything seemed to be white. The room seemed to be almost empty, except for a bed, a chair, and a dresser. Mira was laying on the bed, playing with a pokeball between her fingers.

Her legs were both in casts, and her arms were wrapped in bandages. Mira's blond hair was pulled back into a ponytail. She looked disappointed and lonely, but her expression changed as Amos entered the room.

"Hi!" She said happily, setting the pokeball next to her. Amos nodded slightly. "No one is going to come in, right?" he asked, pulling up the chair.

Mira shook her head. "They don't come in yet. They won't come in until three, so we have an hour."

Amos nodded and glanced at her legs. "How are you feeling?"

"Not to bad." She replied, "I can't feel my legs, but whenever something bumps them, they hurt like crazy. My side is still sore to. The doctor says that the rib might take longer to heal. But I can't wait to leave. The food is terrible here. Than again, I better enjoy it. Sky doesn't cook well either."

Amos smiled slightly, and pulled a folded piece of paper from his pocket. "I wanted to ask you something." he said slowly, and he handed Mira the paper. She looked curious and unfolded it.

It was a newspaper article that Amos had found in White's jewelry box. Big, bold letters labeled the top of the page.

Blake River Succeeds Alder as Unvoa Champion

Mira frowned and looked at Amos. "You found White's box, didn't you?" she said calmly. Amos nodded.

"Do you know what the box is?" he asked. Mira didn't answer right away, but she straightened the piece of paper.

"The jewelry box was where White hid all her important items." She said, "She hid more than jewelry in that. White would put newspaper articles, photos, letters, and torn out pages from old mythology books into the box. Then she would hide it somewhere until she needed it."

"Ok, then why was this in it?" said Amos, gesturing to the article. Mira's hand twitched. She looked uncomfortable.

"It's a bit difficult to explain." She started slowly.

"Can you at least tell me who Blake is to White? All I know about him is that he became champion two years ago." he said, feeling a bit desperate.

"Well," Mira said hesitantly, "Blake started his pokemon journey the same day White stole Seth from Professor Juniper. He put the facts together, and he realized that White was the one who did it. Then he heard the rumor that she was part of Team Plasma, so he started hunting her down. White found him very annoying at first, but then she, well, began to like him. She developed a crush."

Amos shook his head. He couldn't see White having a crush on anyone. She didn't seem like that kind of type.

"Later on, she was arrested along with a group of Team Plasma members, along with Zinzolin." She continued, "But the sad thing is that Blake was one of the people who caught her. I don't know how her feelings for him were like after that, but I know she was furious. She blamed herself for her arrest. That's when she began to fight back at Team Plasma."

"Wasn't she already fighting against Team Plasma?" Amos interrupted. Mira shook her head.

"Why? I thought she would! It made sense!"

"White didn't fight Team Plasma yet." said Mira, "She didn't want to fight them. Actually, two grunts suggested that she should join them. They said she would probably get up into a high rank, possibly the same rank the Shadow Triad and her foster sisters were in."

"And she refused?" Amos said. She nodded. "Why?" he asked.

"Not sure, really." said Mira, "White told Sky Blue that it was because she didn't like their ways. She never liked the idea of releasing pokemon because they might not like being with trainers. But I think it was the idea of seeing N that kept her from joining."

"Did she even know that he was in Team Plasma?" Amos asked.

"I think she had her suspicion." She admitted, "Let's just say that N and White have a habit of stalking each other. I think White had followed N, and she discovered that he was the king of Team Plasma. But actually, I'm surprised that N didn't try to stop her from fighting against Team Plasma."

"What?"

"Well, let me explain this a bit more. White and N grew up on legends and old Unvoa history." Mira explained, "Since Rapi and the other pokemon told them the story of Reshiram and Zekrom, they both preferred a different Dragon type. White had always liked the younger brother of the two dragons, Reshiram. N had always liked Zekrom, the older brother of the two. So when White found out Team Plasma's plans, she knew what pokemon they were searching for. It gave her a bit of an advantage."

"I still don't quite get it." Amos said apologetically. Mira sighed and turned her head to look out the window.

"White was able to figure out Team Plasma's plans by two things: Facts that she already knew about Team Plasma, and facts about her brother. She used what she knew about her brother to help her discover which legendary pokemon they were targeting and had caught, and which pokemon she still had to find and capture. If N had stopped her, then no one would know what Team Plasma was doing."

"So N got Zekrom, but Blake got Reshiram instead of White?" said Amos. She nodded. "Then how did Blake get Reshiram but not White?"

"Most of the gym leaders decided Blake and his sister were the best people to hold onto the Light Stone, or as White calls it, the White Stone."

"Did she try and stop them?" Amos asked. Mira's hand twitched. She didn't look at him. Amos noticed that she looked slightly frightened.

"She tried, but it didn't end well." Mira whispered, "Blake angered her, and White ended up attacking Rachel, his sister. Rachel wasn't the best at pokemon battles, so she lost. White then turned to Blake and tried to get him to give her the Light Stone. He refused, and..."

She stopped. Mira avoided looking at him. "And?" Amos urged her. "Blake fought White, and she lost."

"White lost?" he repeated. She nodded. Amos stared at her. Mira ignored him and continued to speak.

"When she lost, Blake yelled at her and told her to do stuff that wouldn't usually hurt White if it came from another person. But it came from Blake, and she had a crush on him. White lost hope after that. She cried for hours. None of us could make her feel better."

Amos felt furious. He knew White had anger problems and that she had trouble socializing with other people. But Blake didn't seem to understand that White had feelings, even though she never acted like it.

"Please don't judge Blake by what he did." Mira suddenly said. She must have realized what Amos was thinking.

"I met Blake before. He was funny, kind, and a little awkward. To him, White was a cold hearted criminal that didn't have feelings. But he was wrong. She wouldn't be human if she didn't have feelings. White and Blake were kinda like rivals, and Blake always wanted to be the better trainer."

"He still doesn't sound like a nice guy." Amos snarled, his fists clenched. She rolled her eyes and looked out the window again.

"I know he doesn't sound nice. But let me ask you this: Who does White show kindness to, and who does White show harshness to? I don't mean like the bitter attitude she uses around you and your cousins, but real loathing and spite."

Amos tilted his head. "She is kind toward those people who treat her well, like you and Sky. But than she acts hateful toward people who treat her badly."

Mira nodded, and folded her arms. "That is the same way Blake was. He treated people with respect if they treated him the right way. White didn't know how to act around him, so she acted bitter around him. Blake thought White hated him, so he acted the same way she acted toward him."

"Is that the same with everyone else?" he asked, "If someone acts rudely around her, than she'll also act rude?"

"Kinda like that." said Mira, "It depends on the person. If it was some person she just met, then it wouldn't really matter to her. But if a insult or something like that came from someone that White really depended on, then she would treat them badly. Look at what happened between N and White. That's a example of what happens when she is hurt by someone who really matters to her."

"Ok," Amos said, wanting to pass over this subject, "Can I ask you a bit of a personal question?" Mira nodded.

"How do you feel about White? I mean like-"

"Like I have said before, I love her like a sister." She said automatically, "Ever since my own brother disowned me, I have searched for people who will love and take care of me. White and Sky Blue have taken care of me since I was little. I was probably six or seven when I met White, but I can't exactly remember. But we were both outcasts. Unlike White, my parents died, which left my brother in charge. He never liked me though. He cared more about himself."

"Who is your brother?" asked Amos. Mira looked surprised and a little afraid. "I can't say." She said.

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want to."

"Fine then." he said, slightly frustrated, "Can I ask you one last thing?"

"As long as it has nothing to do with my brother." Mira said angrily. "Don't worry, I wasn't going to ask about him. I was wondering about something else."

"What is it then?" she demanded. Amos bit his lip to keep back his retort. "I wanted to ask you why you aren't being hunted down by Team Plasma. White and Sky Blue are both on the run from them, but you aren't wanted by them."

Mira raised an eyebrow. "Because they don't need a twelve year old on their side. I don't got any kind of talents that they want, and they don't think I'm a threat. Team Plasma underestimates me. But then again, that's what lead them to making the big mistake of making White their enemy."

"What?" he said, surprised.

"Ghetsis underestimated White. I think Ghetsis chose to only adopt N because N had qualities that White didn't have yet. N was a boy for one. I don't think Ghetsis would ever think a girl would be that good of a fighter."

"He was so wrong." Amos snarled, remembering when he saw White battle against Alder. Mira nodded in agreement.

"Also, White was still really little." She continued on, "She still needed help from others. White still needed someone to guide her. Then there was the fact that White was "immature". Again, she was really young, and needed time to grow up. Ghetsis apparently thought that she would always be a girly kind of person. He would never want someone like that on Team Plasma."

Amos watched Mira for a moment. Hearing stuff about White once being immature and girly sounded impossible. He was use to seeing White as a brave leader. He never thought about White when she was really little.

Mira looked at the clock and picked up the pokeball laying next to her. "You better go." She said as he stood up, "The doctor will be back soon. Plus you have a ways to go until you reach Opelucid City."

"When will you be let out?" he asked. "Oh, I don't know. The doctors say I can go in a month or two. By the way, I need to give this to you." and Mira held out the pokeball.

"What is it?" Amos said as he took the pokeball from her.

"Hydreigon." Mira replied, "I tried to give it back to White but she didn't want him. N doesn't need him back either, so I'm supposed to give him to you. Apparently N has only had him for a year, and Hydreigon doesn't listen to him that much. White and N agreed that you are probably the best person to hold on to him."

Amos felt the pokeball shake in his hand. Personally, he thought that he wouldn't be any better than White or N. If this pokemon had been with N, than there was probably only a small chance that the pokemon would listen to him. Amos was still having problems with Packs, so the last thing he needed was another pokemon.

"Am I keeping him permanently?" he asked. Mira shook her head. "I think White said you'll only keep him until her name is cleared. Team Plasma knows about him now, so they'll think he's with N or White. But they probably tell the police about him too."

He nodded and opened the door. "Hope you feel better!" Amos said as he left. "Thanks, and good luck!" Mira called back. He smiled and closed the door behind him.

~~~
I SWEAR THIS BOOK IS GOING TO BE SIXTY CHAPTERS LONG. Honestly, it's easier to play the game than to write it *_*
Ok, I just wanted to say this because it's been bugging me for awhile:
I'm not saying anyone is thinking this, but I'm scared that people will judge the book because of all the problems and depression in it. I don't want people to think that White is a evil person with some serious problems. There is also all these insults, injuries, and losses in this book. But I want to say that this book will not have a dark ending. This is just the middle of it all.
I'm done now. It's late, so good night :D
