Chapter 29

Chapter 29

"What do you mean White's going to go to Mistralon City by herself?" Amos asked, shocked.

Leia shrugged. "White said there are somethings in Driftveil City that she doesn't want to see again."

"Well," Hugh started. "It's not like she hasn't done it before. She doesn't really stay in one place for too long. She might just want to skip a city for a change."

Amos didn't reply. Why would she skip Driftveil? What was in Driftveil City that she didn't want to see again? He remembered that she said she was arrested in Driftveil, but was that really a good reason to pass it over? Did her brother tell her to pass it?

"Where is she?" he asked Leia. She pointed toward the crowd.

"Somewhere over there with Mira-"

But Amos ran past her before she could finish. He saw a flash of flames as he ran toward the crowd. Sure enough, White was at the back of the crowd with Mira and her Rapidash, Rapi.

White turned around as he got closer, but he had already said "Why are you not coming with us to Driftveil?" Mira turned around as well to see who had spoken.

"Did Leia tell you?" White asked, looking annoyed.

"Yeah, now why are you leaving?" Amos asked again.

Rapi snorted. "Can't hide much with this kid around." she muttered.

White didn't answer, and Hugh and Leia ran up next to him.

"Like I said, there are some things in Driftveil City that I don't want to see." she said uncomfortably.

"Where's Sky Blue?" Mira asked them.

"In the forest. The guy's insane." Hugh added quietly.

White smiled slightly. "What did he do this time?" she asked.

"He led us into a grotto with a crazy Liepard in it, and he thought a rock was beautiful." explained Hugh. Mira and Leia giggled.

Amos was annoyed. He didn't like it that White was ignoring him.

"Can I talk to you?" he hissed so only White could hear him. She frowned.

"I'm pretty sure Sky Blue can explain why." she whispered, looking around to see if the others were listening.

"Why can't you?" Amos snapped quietly.

"There are some things Sky can explain better than I." White replied.

Amos was about to retort but Sky Blue had just arrived, looking satisfied about something.

"What's going on?" he asked, looking from Amos, to White, and to Hugh and the two other girls.

"White's not coming to Driftveil City if we're all going." Amos told him, trying to keep his voice calm. Sky looked surprised and Amos saw him flash a curious look at White.

"Why not?" Sky finally asked. White blushed and Rapi hissed something that Amos couldn't catch.

"I just don't feel like seeing some of the newer things." she said quietly.

Mira tilted her head and exchanged looks with Sky Blue.

"Are you sure you can't come?" Leia asked, starting to pull at White's arm.

"It would be nice if you could." said Hugh quietly, not looking at White.

White didn't answer. She looked even more uncomfortable.

"She doesn't have to go if she doesn't want to." said Sky Blue suddenly, taking Amos by surprised.

He turned to Mira. "I think Mira and I can stay with them."

"What- Oh! Yes, of course!" said Mira, looking a bit overwhelmed.

Sky nodded and turned to White. "Are you leaving now?" he then asked.

White shook her head and growled, "No, I'm staying in Nimbassa City for a few days. I have something to clear up." Her voice was casual, but Amos caught a hint of annoyance.

"I need to talk with you, Sky Blue, before you guys leave." she continued beckoning her friend to follow her away from the others.

Amos watched them move away and heard them talking in low voices. Rapi's ears twitched, and Leia and Mira started talking together.

"She is acting a bit weird." Hugh whispered as he looked at Sky and White.

Amos wasn't listening. White had just handed Sky Blue a scroll of paper and started walking away. Rapi lifted her head and trotted after her trainer.

"Where's she going?" Leia asked as Sky came back.

"Back to Nimbassa." Sky replied as he put the scroll in his coat pocket.

"I still don't get why she doesn't want to come." growled Hugh, watching White disappear through the route gateway.

"There are places where White isn't comfortable in. Driftveil City is one of them." Sky Blue replied.

"Let's go then." said Mira, and started running down the road. When Leia and Hugh followed her, Sky pulled Amos back.

"Why isn't she coming?" Amos demanded again, hoping for an answer.

Sky made sure that the two girls and Hugh were out of earshot before answering, "She doesn't want to see her foster sisters."

"Foster sisters? But White only has her brother!" protested Amos. But then a part of what White told him the night he found out about her brother came back to him.

"That's when Sky lost his eye. He lost it to N's foster sisters. Out of fury and hatred, I had fought them, and won. But I had to leave the castle. Sky was losing a lot of blood. If I had stayed any longer, he would have died of blood loss."

"Wait, do you mean, the same people who-"

"Who took out my eye, yeah." Sky finished, nodding. Amos stared at him.

"Their alive? I mean, I thought, well, White didn't say much about them." he ended lamely.

Sky Blue laughed and started to follow the others. "She never does. Anthea and Concordia live in Driftveil City with other retired Team Plasma members. White pretends that they are not related in the slightest."

"But how are they related?" Amos asked, walking next to Sky.

"Well, like White's brother, the two girls were sorta adopted by Ghetsis. They were supposed to take care of N, and be like his sisters." Sky explained. "Actually, I don't think Anthea or Concordia ever knew that N had a sister. I personally think that Ghetsis told N to keep White a secret."

"So they didn't find out until White battled them and you lost your eye?" he asked, feeling angry.

"Yep."

"But that's stupid! They would have had to find out someday! Why keep it a secret?"

Sky gave another laugh. "I think N was scared of Ghetsis' fury, to be honest. If he told everyone that he had a younger sister living on the streets and searching for revenge, Ghetsis would have probably chucked him out."

Amos didn't ask anything else for a minute. He had thought N had a choice, but he didn't think it would've been that difficult to chose. N could have told the truth and go back to the life he lived for almost to two to three years, or stay quiet and live the life he had then. Now that Amos thought about it, it did seem easier to stay quiet then to be honest.

"Lots of people face that kind of choice in there lives." Sky Blue continued, "The pokemon who raised N and White had a choice. They could have left them to die in the forest, or they could have taken them in and risk being killed for their choice. Ray the Lucario died years later for his choice. I had a choice to."

"You did?" said Amos, surprised at this. "How?"

Sky smiled and tapped his eye patch.

"Two years ago, White tried protecting her pokemon, Di-Di, from a Gradevoir's attacks. I had a choice to not interfere and let White die, or I could sacrifice myself for her and take her place. I took her place, and lost my eye. Or as I say sometimes, I gave an eye for a life."

"Why did you sacrifice your eye for White?" Amos asked before he could stop himself.

Sky Blue tilted his head and frowned. "I have been asked that before, and I give the same answer. Ever since my sister died, I have been lonely, and on rare occasions, have had suicidal thoughts. But when I met White and Mira, I felt like I had my family back. My mother and father died in that accident, my grandparents died long before I was born, and my sister died a few years after living away from human civilization, so I was by myself, and had no one that could talk back to me. Pokemon can be very enjoyable if you can understand their language, but I didn't have the ability. White and Mira were the only things in life that kept me alive. They made me feel wanted, and loved me. Otherwise, I would have committed suicide long ago."

Amos stared at him. He had always thought Sky was a selfish person who liked to pick on others. He would have never guess that Sky Blue was a bit suicidal. And he even risked his life for White.

They had now reached the large red drawbridge that led to Driftveil City. Mira and the other two had probably already gotten across it. Sky had stopped in front of it and stepped aside.

"Age before beauty." Sky Blue sneered with a smirk. Amos gave a smile before walking into the bridge.

~~~
Hi
So Sky Blue is a bit suicidal. Surprising, huh? Not really. He was always a bit insane, though ;P
Suicide is not a laughing matter though. Lots of people are suicidal, and I am friends with people who are suicidal. I just added the suicidal thoughts mostly to make it more interesting for some of you.
But please remember to those who are suicidal, you are loved, and your given this life to live. Don't just throw it down the drain.
I feel so bad for poor Sky Blue. I'm so mean ><"
