Chapter 17

Chapter 17

"Why do you make it storm everywhere you go?" White yelled over a rumble of thunder.

"I can't help it. That's how it always is." Thundrus growled, waving his large hand. White shivered, and put the hood of her coat over her head.

The sky had grown very dark, and the clouds had turned dark gray. Thunder was split through the air, which White was quite use to. This was normal since Thundrus always made it storm when they traveled long distances.

"Can't you stop it for once?" she asked loudly.

"Unless you want me to die, I suggest that you get use to it." the legendary pokemon snapped. "It's an occupation hazard."

"I already have," White said more to herself.

Thundrus suddenly stopped.

"Did I offend you that badly?" asked White, slightly smiling.

"No, it's..." he looked around, "We're being followed."

Surprisingly, White snorted. "By who? N?" she asked.

Thundrus didn't answer right away. He was flying in circles.

"No, because I sense two pokemon." replied Thundrus. Now White was turning around.

She did feel like something was watching her. White shivered and she moved her hand toward one of the pokeballs on her belt.

"Use Flash, Thundrus," White whispered loud enough for Thundrus to hear.

He gave a roar and bright light flashed all around them. The nearest clouds shrank away, and the sky seemed to lighten. The light now revealed the pokemon.

"Roar of Time!"

"Hydro Pump!"

White screamed as she saw blue and indigo beams heading straight toward them.

"Protect!" She cried.

Thundrus wrapped his long thorny tail around his body, and a large blue sphere surrounded them.

The beams bounced off the sphere and made contact with their users.

The attackers were a Dialga and Suicune, but White wasn't surprised to see two legendary pokemon that weren't even native to Unvoa. The Suicune was standing on the Dialga's head which apparently was the only place it could stand, since the ocean was hundreds of feet below them.

"Close Combat!" ordered White, and Thundrus swung himself toward Dialga. The Dialga gave a screech as Thundrus started punching its chest.

"Suicune, Aurora Beam!" a female's voice cried. An ice-like beam escaped Suicune's mouth and shot straight toward Thundrus's face.

"Duck!" White heard Thundrus hiss to her. She didn't have to bend too low since she was already kneeling on Thundrus's small cloud.

The beam suddenly hit Thundrus's face and he gave a loud roar. White felt Thundrus's body tilt backward, and the pokemon started to fall out of the sky.

"THUNDRUS, TRANSFORM!" She screamed. White felt Thundrus's body shrink, and his large hands turned into clawed paws. He had now turned into the large feline-like pokemon with a scorpion tail.

White gripped onto his tail, and Thundrus flew behind Dialga. The legendary pokemon couldn't see them through the dark clouds.

"Do you think she fell into the water?" White heard a girl's voice yell worriedly over the thunder.

"I hope not! I didn't think Dia would be able to overpower a Thundrus!" a boy's voice replied.

Thundrus flew closer so they were hovering over Dialga's back. A teenage boy was looking down at the ocean, and a young girl was sitting on her Suicune.

"Miriam Dragonclaw and Skyler Azul, you have a lot of nerve to sneak up on us like that!" White said loudly, and the boy and girl jumped. They whirled around to see who had spoken.

The girl screamed with fright and Dialga twisted his large body to see what had caused the sudden scream.

"White! You're alive!" the girl squealed as White leapt onto Dialga's back.

"Hello, Mira." she greeted the girl and smiled.

The boy almost fell off Dialga, but caught himself just in time. His face was turning red. "Don't do that! I almost fell overboard!" he snapped.

"Well, Sky Blue, than you shouldn't go attack people behind their backs. By the way, who's idea was it?" White asked, suddenly turning stern.

"It was Sky's! It's written all over his face! GUILTY!" Dialga said playfully, nodding his head toward his trainer.

"True, true!" Suicune snickered.

"Thanks a bunch, Dia." Sky snarled at him. White smirked and Thundrus landed next to her.

Sky Blue and Mira were White's closest friends, and the only people who knew about her true identity. They didn't have the ability to understand pokemon like White and N, but with a bit of White's help, Sky was able to make a type of hearing aid that allowed the user to hear what pokemon were saying. Like White, they also had false names, more like nicknames.

"It wasn't exactly hard to find you! All we had to do was find the heart of the storm! You do know that it's storming in Castelia City because of Thundrus, right?" Mira piped up.

White sighed and Thundrus flew away next to Suicune to avoid her rage.

"I'm not surprised." White said, glaring at her own legendary.

"We heard about your little mission." Sky said, changing the subject.

"How? I never told anyone!" White said nervously.

"Thundrus told us!" Mira explained.

Thundrus facepawed and flew farther away from her. "Can't keep your mouth shut, can you?" White growled at him.

"I thought they should know." he said apologetically.

"You're really helping your brother?" Suicune asked curiously.

"Yeah, so what?" she snapped at him.

"We thought you would have refused! I mean, after last time..." said Mira, but her voice trailed off.

"Are you only doing it because of Pika-" Sky Blue started, but White interrupted him and snapped, "No, it has nothing to do with her! Archy kinda persuaded me to."

"I would have slapped him if it was my Mr.Mime telling me that." Sky said.

"I will make a note to tell Junior that." Dialga told him, as he started flying forward.

"What- don't you dare!" his trainer said in a shocked voice. "You tell Junior and I will slap you!"

"I'd like you see you try!"

"Be nice to poor Dia!" Mira whined and pulled at her friend's arm.

"Don't you have a heart?" said White sarcastically.

"I left it back in Castelia. And Dialga doesn't have one." Sky growled, not taking his eye off the back of Dialga's neck.

White gave him a small smile. "What are you two doing in Castelia City?" she asked him.

"Well, out of all cities in the region, we prefer Castelia City." Mira said before Sky could reply. "Sky wanted to stay near the Victory Road, but that was before the route collapsed."

"I liked the pokemon that lived there." Sky sighed. "I loved those Foongus."

White snorted. She didn't mind Foongus, but she lost her interest for them after a Foongus pretended to be one of her pokeballs once.

"We're almost to the city, the storm is calming down a bit." Suicune announced, who had moved up to Dialga's shoulder. White just realized that the clouds had turned lighter gray.

"So your gonna stay with us?" Mira squealed, grasping her older friend's arm.

"Just for a week," replied White, though she didn't entirely believe her own answer.

"Well, better than not at all." Sky Blue said with a shrug.

And for the first time in weeks, White felt like she was finally happy.
