Before Starting

Hello readers! I'm PurehearttheNeko, the writer of this book you're about to read. Please read this before continuing on.

I wrote this story when I was 13 years old. It was the first fanfiction I had ever written. I was super excited to write this story, for the story of White Copperstone had been developing in my mind for years. I met new people and I met some of my best friends through this book.

However I am now almost 17 as I write this, and while I don't regret writing this book, I wince and cringe at the thought of what I wrote and the style of my 13 year old self. I was not taught the proper grammar for story telling until after I finished the book and this entire book was made as I went.

This book isn't perfect, far from it. As I said, this was my first fanfiction. It's not my favorite book, but the series itself is my magnum opus. Before you read, I want you to know two things.

One is that this story isn't edited because I don't have the time nor do I want to inconvenience others to help. But you can learn from my mistakes. Since being unpublished for two months, the only thing that's changed is that almost all the media has been deleted. I want you all, especially beginning writers, to learn from my mistakes. I want you to know that people start somewhere. I'm not a great writer, I'm not popular, but even they had to start here. I'm willing to show my flawed works to help you learn. Please don't put me down for it, but instead learn from my writing.

Second, I want you to know that my writing has greatly improved in the four years since finishing this book. My grammar has greatly improved, as well as the plots. While writing this story I leaned heavily on the plot of Pokemon Black and White 2, rarely venturing into my own original ideas. It wasn't until I started writing "Secrets Without Shame" that I began to let go of the original game plots and make my own. As for grammar, my grammar and spelling has greatly improved. It's gotten to the point where I have very little errors a chapter and I have learned a lot on grammar since starting this book.

So why am I telling you all this? Because I don't want you to judge me or my writing because of a book I wrote almost four years ago. I have improved. I have learned and grown wiser. If you read this book and hate it, which I don't blame you for, just know that I have improved. I'm not the same person who wrote this. If you insist on judging me, judge me on the writer I am now.

If you want to know the writer I am, look at "We'll Be Counting Stars", "When I See You Again", "The Definition of Being Human", or even "Secrets Without Shame". Don't look too closely at "Spite Without Shame".

I think that was it. This was something I wanted new readers to know, but now that that's done, you can move on if you still want to. I just felt it was necessary to tell you this before you read ahead.

Now go on, your journey awaits.
