His Presense
A/N Based on a personal experience.
The warmth of His embrace,
Gentle and comforting;
Oh! how wonderful is His presense!
As I lifte my praise and worship,
Though I used not words with my mouth,
I knew He was listening.
As I laid prostrate in my bed,
Singing songs of praise with my heart,
A surge of warmth came over me.
I began to sweat,
Although the night was chilly as those of winter.
I had to kick awaymy blanket,
Yet the wave of heat remained.
I stretched my hands above my head,
A symbol of bringing my praise on high.
The the heat lifted slightly,
But there was still a burning sensation in my right arm.
As I clutched my hand into a fist,
I felt a sharp pull in the right side on my chest.
My mind wondered ever slightly to another subject.
Knowing this was to pull my attention away from praising the Most High,
I yanked at the pull with an invisible rope,
telling it that it had no power over me.
Immediately I felt the tug tear away from my chest like a rip,
But it was good pain.,
For I felt relief and resumed my praise.
From outside came the sound of a dog's bark;
Another distraction.
I rebuked the dog, too.
All fell silent.
Nothing remained,
Except for His presense.
The warmth was still there,
But a wave of cool air came over me.
With abundant peace,
I exalte the Mighty of the Heavens.
And then I returned to sleep once more.
