Ditched
Naruto was up ahead as per usual, happily gripping the straps of his bag and talking back to Sakura who was behind Shiro, the two completely ignoring the emotionally torn girl between them. Sakura had insulted Shiro many times, trying to get a reaction out of the girl.
Shiro tried to ignore the pinkette's insults
"I can't believe Sasuke and Naruto liked you, your nothing but a filthy liar who manipulates people" Sakura commented. "And what about kakashi Sensei? To adopt such a brat? He must regret it so much that he pities your sorry life" Sakura commented again,
"Let's go" shiro stated simply, not reacting again to Sakura's comments.
Their mission was to get to a small village, then escort a woman to the mist. Where she would be married into a wealthy family. The woman's name was Himiko.
"I wonder what miss Himiko is like" Naruto thought aloud. Sakura huffed
"I feel bad for her, she's being forced to marry into a wealthy family to help her parents with their financial trouble" Sakura added, a saddened look on her face. Shiro shook her head and continued walking, trying not to get involved with their conversation. She wasn't going to allow Sakura to have the opportunity to make fun of her again.
She was determined to keep Sakura off her back and Naruto even further away. The two were only there because they were forced too.
"Hey shiro! Want to stop for some lunch? I'm hungry!" He shouted from ahead. Shiro sighed
"Why are you asking her, she's not the leader here Naruto. I am" Sakura stated, getting in front of Shiro and going to shove the younger girl back. Shiro stepped back and sped up her pace.
"Soo can we?!" Naruto exclaimed, a pleading look on his face making Sakura sweatdropped. Obviously not into Naruto. Shiro frowned at them and sat down on the grass on the edge of the road and grabbed out her lunch that she brought with her. A simple sandwich. While Naruto brought himself a full on outdoor cooking set, a pack of ramen and used his own draining water to cook the ramen, Shiro sighed
"Uzumaki-San, get water from the river. Your drinking water is important"
"So? I can just drink the river water!" Naruto exclaimed, drooling as he stared at the cooking noodles. Sakura herself had only brought an apple.
"That sandwich looks disgusting" she commented, taking a bite of her apple with a stuck up expression on her face. Shiro took a bit e of her sandwich. Looking to Sakura she sighed. The pinkette had finished it and still looked hungry. Tearing off a bit of her sandwich she held it out to Sakura who scowled
"Ew. I don't want something that's had your grubby fingers on it" she stated. Shiro sighed
"Take it. You'll go hungry and I don't want to deal with your wining" Shiro snapped making Sakura hesitate. But snatch it away from the white haired girl. Huffing Shiro finished off the rest of her sandwich and got up and stretched.
"Come on, we have to go" she stated. Naruto frowned
"But my ramen isn't cooked yet!"
"You should of thought about that before you got started" Shiro snapped again. Naruto frowned
"You don't have to be so mean Shiro" Shiro looked at him irritatedly, the blonde was stubborn and glared at her. She knew that ramen was his favourite and he wasn't about to miss out on eating it. And now she was glaring at him? What's her problem. Naruto didn't move and continued cooking it. Sakura glared at Shiro
"What's gotten into you weasel? You still grumpy about your boyfriend ditching you?" Sakura commented. Shiro took a breath in and sighed.
"I'll be at the river. Finish your food"
With that Shiro left the two alone. She had to admit, she was mean and it wasn't necessary, but they got on her nerves. Ever since she became stronger she didn't think that she'd be so angry with the two. Shikamaru, kankuro, Temari, gaara... They taught her to not accept her team's cruel comments. Kurama and Kakashi too advised her to not react, was what she was doing wrong?
Was ignoring and accepting the best way to deal with them? Though they had stopped after the exams 'cause of her hanging out with the sand team. Naruto and Sakura had seemed to completely forgot about her, but now? They were poking fun at her, calling her mean names and constantly mentioning how gaara left her to go back home after the exams. How she almost died and should of died by the hands of her best friend. How what friends she had now would ditch her after getting what they wanted.
Though she knew the people she had put her trust in would never ditch her like Naruto did. Naruto was influence negatively by Sakura and Sasuke. Making him think that bullying her was a good thing. The blonde was ignorant and gullible. And he had a crush on Sakura, which didn't help.
But shikamaru, Temari and kankuro had helped her in training, they hung out with her, even kiba, lee, tenets, and hinata. The rest of the lead genin had helped her feel included in the village, in the ninja community, why couldn't her team do the same?
The insults, the name calling me the constant put downs was why she was glad the team split up. Shiro knew it was bad of her to think like that. But she was sick of the constant cruelty pointed at her, even the villagers had stopped being mean to her as much as they used too. Maybe it was because they saw just how capable she was as a shinobi.
Kneeling down in front of the river she took a breath of fresh air and sighed deeply.
"Why couldn't I of just been put into a different team. Though I never would of met Otousan. I never want to be in a team with those two again, not Sasuke, not Naruto not Sakura. What made them so hateful towards me?" She asks out loud, yet no one answered. No one ever would on missions, not anymore.
After taking a few moments to gather her thoughts, Shiro stood up and began making her way back to the small camp that her team had made. Smelling the fresh smell of cooked ramen, Shiro approached the small clearing where the road was placed only to see no one. Of course.
She should of never left the group to themselves, she should of anticipated that Sakura would convince Naruto to leave me behind after eating her ramen, they were probably only a few miles ahead of her, probably running at full speed to get as far away from her as they could. Shiro looked down at the abandoned pots. Of course he had forgotten them. And his bag too. Sakura had discarded her Apple core on the ground besides the small fire that Naruto had lit.
This was going to be the start of a very long and irritating mission. She knew it.
