Ten Keepers, my first trilogy series is officially finished! Now, you probably have questions of the choice of my ending and it will all be answered here.

The alternate ending was my original ending for this story but that all changed because of reasons. As I neared the end, it was quite hard to change the ending to something else but I did anyways.

First Reason: The Title

I wasn't sure if I was going to be writing a third book. The first book was based on the first series and I was planning for the second book to be based on the second series. Apparently, I did write three books making this series a trilogy and I wasn't sure for the title.

You're probably thinking/saying, "You killed them all just because of a title?

The title is called, "Fall of the Ten."

If you haven't known, I asked for what the title should be on the second book. "Fall of the Ten" or "The Broken Talisman" (I think) and we went for "Fall of the Ten."

As I kept on writing throughout the story, I started thinking about the ending. "Fall of the Ten" can have two meanings.

Meaning 1: All the Keepers die because of the "fall" part.

Meaning 2: The Keepers journey is finished.

When I started thinking of the next book that would somewhat be linked to this series, I was planning on having the Keepers there as background characters. But then, that would mean the Keeper's journey wasn't finished (kinda) so what's the meaning of the title "Fall of the Ten."

Then I got a better idea of going with meaning 1 but still have the Keeper's journey going. If you have no idea what i'm saying, go read "Chapter Twenty Eight - Fall of the Ten Keepers" all the way to "Epilogue: Chapter Thirty - A New Life Forms."

If you have guessed what had happened in Chapter Thirty, then you would know that the Keeper's journey hasn't ended.

If you haven't...(I don't know what to say after that)

So in the next book, the Keepers are (kinda) going to be supporting characters to the main characters.

Second Reason: Trying Something Different

Not all stories have happy endings.

I wanted to try something different, try something new. That's why I (almost) infected everyone in the story (lol) but ended up killing them in the end instead.

As much as I love my characters, they just can't live forever cause it's life.

But I did tell you that you were going to see them again in the next book, didn't I?

Sometimes, you just have to write out of your comfort-zone.

Third Reason: It's Better

Well, I don't know about you guys but I think it's better.

It would make more sense for the next book. You know what, let me just give you the description of the next book.

Description: Rise of the Wyrm (work-in-progress)

It has been many years since the second war, many years since the Wyrm has been defeated, many years of peace. As the years went by, our four heroes have grown along with those who have summoned Great Beasts.

But then, something mysterious had happened. Those same four heroes have suddenly disappeared. Some say they have retired while others say they have been killed or assassinated. The real answer, no one knows, even the Greencloaks.

But that isn't the only problem that Erdas is facing today.

Evil can never be truly destroyed. There will always be good and there will always be bad. Something dark, forgotten for years, has returned.

Now new Greencloak recruits, chosen from all over Erdas, have come together to go on a quest. To find the four who have mysteriously disappeared, to reunite with the other Great Beasts to save Erdas.

To destroy the Wyrm.

So, as I was saying. It would make more sense because these Greencloak recruits were chosen for a reason. (And if you don't know that reason, read "Epilogue: Chapter Thirty - A New Life Forms.")

So yeah.

Those are my reasons for the ending. "Rise of the Wyrm" might be published in a week or two BUT, "A Thief's Quest, A Warrior's Mission" will be published today!

I'm not putting a sneak-a-peek for that because you'll see it anyways later today but there might be a sneak-a-peek for "Rise of the Wyrm."
