Eilene's POV

"So you're the Ten Keepers," the girl spoke, "Well let me introduce myself. My name is Drina and i'm also after that talisman. As you can see, you're outnumbered. So if you could hand that over, we'll let you go in peace."

"With the talisman with you?" John snorted, "That's some peace."

"As you wish then," Drina said and the Conquerors advanced.

Irene and Ivan pulled out their bows while John, George, and Riley took out their swords. Jef had an axe with him while Zoron twirled both his daggers. Zoey and Hope both have batons while Eilene is the only one with a staff.

Seriously, what's wrong with a staff? she thought.

Weapons clashed all around her and she found herself facing a woman with a scorpion. She was just about to attack when John barged in between them. John swung her sword slashing her leg while Rusty bit the scorpion and threw it into the forest. The woman cried and limped after it.

"Stay behind me," John ordered.

"I can take care if myself," Eilene snapped.

"Just do as I say," he demanded.

Eilene spotted a guy about to swing his axe behind John and she quickly pushed John out the way and swiped her staff under the Conqueror, making him fall back down.

"Your welcome," Eilene retorted.

"Everyone," she heard Eric yell, "We need to fall back now!"

Everyone split up and headed into the forest. Unfortunately, John and Eilene were in the middle and were trapped between the waterfall and the Conquerors. They were only after Eilene because of the talisman.

"You're trapped now," Drina demanded, "Give me the talisman or die."

"We'll die either way," John muttered.

Eilene looked behind her to see the waterfall. There was a screech and she looked up to see Lazu, Zoron's Spirit Animal. That's when she got an idea. She called Ursa into passive form.

"What are you doing?" John whispered.

"Call Rusty into passive form and just follow my lead," Eilene replied looking at him, "You have to trust me right now."

John hesitated then nodded reluctantly, calling Rusty into passive form.

"Hand me the talisman," Drina demanded.

"You want the talisman?" Eilene asked, holding it up, "Then come and get it."

She threw the talisman high up in the air and Lazu snatched it into his talons.

"John, we need to jump," Eilene told him.

"What-"

"Don't ask just do," she cut in and grabbed John's hand.

"Wait, hold on-"

Eilene jumped off the waterfall, pulling John with him as they plunged into the water. She resurfaced and winced as she felt pain. She spotted John nearby and together they swam towards land where the rest of the group were waiting for them.

"Quick, this way," Heidi said and they all ran after Heidi.

Eilene tried to keep up but she winced on every step.

"Hey, you okay?" John asked her.

"Yeah yeah, i'm fine," she reassured him and using all her strength, she kept on running.

They finally made it out of the forest, the Conquerors nowhere to be found.

"I think we lost them," were the last words she heard from Eric before she collapsed and fell into someone's hands.
