Answers: Why I Chose These Character Names

Seriously, my name choices are just terrible in this series! Look, I first started writing this when it was nighttime and so my brain wasn't fully awake.

So if you haven't read how I started this series in the first book of Ten Keepers, then this is how it started. I just imagined what would happen if my friends were in Spirit Animals so, that's how this whole series started. And I wasn't expecting to have others vote on this (besides my friend) and now it's a trilogy.

At the time when I was still writing this, I was just rushing for I wasn't planning to actually publish the book the next day. I was trying to finish my other book ("A Fairy Tale" but I moved it to my other account ) before publishing this.

Well, that didn't happen. When I started writing, I just kept on writing and writing. If you read book one, there's just SO MANY errors and the lack of detail was just too much. I'm planning on re-editing it (when I have time) so forgive me for all those errors, hehe.

Anyways, I imagined what would've happened if my friends were Keepers in Spirit Animals. Of course those weren't their real names cause I changed them (to terrible ones).

Since I wrote this when my brain wasn't fully awake, not expecting to publish the next day, and just non-stopped write, I just put the names that (kinda) fit them (or not at all).

First of, the ten friends I chose here are not all friends that I have now.

Irene

I chose Irene just because my close friend starts with the same letter. I tried to make the personality a bit similar but I lost track of that (sorry...) I was planning on making Riley summon a panda but Irene ended up summoning one instead.

Riley

I chose Riley because her real name almost sounds familiar. It's been a while since I last saw her so the personality part was hard. I have no idea why I made her summon a fox but okay.

Ivan

I wouldn't exactly call Ivan too friendly (read book one) and the real-life him and Jef aren't cousins but just friends. Their first letters are the same so I guess I named him that. He summoned a leopard because I don't know why.

Jef

Jef's name is very similar to his real name. He's friendly, you can say, but not exactly playful (unless you count playing games on devices). He summoned a cheetah when in real life, he's not really very fast. (Lol, sorry!)

Zoey

Zoey's name is also very familiar to her real name. Out of all the ten, she's actually the youngest in real life. Zoey and Zoron are actual siblings. She summoned a bunny because she's really cute, sweet, and shy.

Hope

How I came up with Hope's name, you have no idea! Dumbest reason ever but since her real name is an adjective, I chose Hope because it's also an adjective. Her personality is SUPER different in real-life! I don't know why but I was planning for her to summon an otter but nah. She summoned a horse for no apparent reason at all.

Zoron

Now I feel so sorry for Zoron. I tried to make his personality similar but that didn't work out well. His real name is not linked to Zoron at all but (for some unknown reason) Zoron seemed to fit him in my story. Zoron and Zoey are actual siblings. He's very quiet in real-life so I don't really know much of his real personality. He summoned a falcon because, just very recently, I learned that he could really read others really well and that reminded me of how Essix the Falcon is, ya know.

George

George used to be a really close friend of mine so I guess I made him friendly. He can be funny and he's very fun to be with. He is also the actual brother of John. When I came up with the name John, I though George would be a fine name as his brother. The beginning letters are the same. He summoned a lynx because I can't think of any other animal from Eura at that time.

John

In real-life, John and George are close you can say but now, John is more quiet. He's not as wonky as he used to before. John's personality isn't similar in real-life. I chose John because I remembered seeing someone named John when I was just randomly browsing through facebook. Now, John has become one of my favorite boy names. (I've had so many encounters with the name, especially when I was watching some random minecraft role-plays which were actually pretty good.)

Eilene

Eilene's name is VERY different, and I mean VERY, from her real-life. Even her personality isn't exactly the same and she can be playful at times. I actually changed Eilene's name spelling twice. I used to spell it as, Eliene or something like that (can't remember) but then settled with Eilene. Now this is a very big coincidence. I went back to school and as I look through my schedule, I saw that my English teacher's name is Eileen! (And you write in English class so what the heck)

So that's how I chose the names.

I'm so glad that not all of them have Wattpad. Four of them (one of them which is my other OC but not part of the Ten Keepers) have Wattpad. One forgot their password, one just joined and doesn't know my fan fiction account, the other doesn't check my stories, and I haven't heard of the other one.
