It was a huge bustle in Greenhaven's huge dining room area thing where everyone was rushing around to get things ready. Ready for what, you may ask?

Well, it was Abeke's birthday that day and everyone, or well mostly some of the Great Beast summoners that had befriended her over the years were preparing a surprise birthday party for her. In Greenahaven's huge dining room of course.

Meilin was calling out orders with Rollan's voice peeping in to add annoying commentaries. Takoda was there too, along with Xanthe, trying to stick those balloons around the room. Devin was there too, having had befriended the summoner of Uraza during their time running away from the Oathbound. His younger brother, Dawson was there too, helping Tasha set up the table with plates. Oh and Kirat was surprisingly there...not doing so much but oh well. It's Kirat. (And wow I kept saying 'there too' so many times).

And Conor? Well he was currently leading Abeke to the dining room.

Dawson placed his last plate before turning to Tasha who was going a little more slowly. His eyes widened as she began to tip the plates downward, unknowingly. He immediately rushed towards her as she realized too late that the plates were sliding off and Dawson caught them just in time before it crashed to the ground.

Dawson straightened up and gave her a kind smile, "Let me help."

Tasha opened her mouth to reply, "Th- HICCUP."

Dawson almost dropped the plates himself with surprise but smiled as Tasha, embarrassedly tried to cover it up, failing cause she was still hiccuping.

"Sorry," Tasha giggled nervously before another hiccup jumped out her mouth, "Well this is *hiccup* unfortunate.."

"Abeke is coming!" Rollan yelled, seeming to come back from looking into Essix's eyes, "Everyone hide!"

Everyone did just that. They ran around the place and looked for somewhere to hide. Dawson ended up hiding behind the curtains with Tasha. The summoner of Rumfuss had been peeking out the window to look at the door when he jumped at the sound of hiccups. He turned to find Tasha desperately trying to muffle them.

"So- *hiccup* ry," Tasha whispered.

Dawson tried for a smile but her hiccups were only growing louder.

Dawson spotted Rollan poking his head out from under the table, making gestures to tell him to shut up.

"Uh," Dawson turned to Tasha who had both hands covering her mouth, "Hold your breath or something."

Tasha held her breath for a full 10 second. For a moment, there was nothing. "I think it's- *hiccup* ...yeah, never mind..."

Already, you could hear footsteps and a pair of voices growing louder and closer to the door.

"Uh," Dawson looked around helplessly. He didn't know how else to stop the hiccups. He couldn't run and get her water in time. And how was he supposed to surprise her... oh wait.

The voices were loud now. They were just right outside the door. Tasha's hiccups were filling up the whole room. Rollan was glaring at Dawson to friggin do something before the surprise was all ruined.

"*hiccup* Can't- *hiccup* Stop."

Dawson took a deep breath, facing her, "Sorry Tasha but.."

The door creaked open.

Tasha stopped hiccuping. Why? Oh, cause Dawson was kissing her. That's why. Her eyes widened at the feel of his warm lips on hers. To say that she was surprised was an understatement. She was beyond shocked. And cause of that, she hadn't realized that the curtain had magically opened, but none of them had to know thaaaaat.

Dawson pulled away. They were both just as red that it's hard to tell which one was redder. It was just really red.

"S-Sorry I-I kinda had to- uh- you know- the thing-"

"Y-Yeah, yeah," Tasha nodded, giggling ever so slightly, "You definitely... did surprise me."

That's when they both realized that the room was way quieter than it should be. And that's when they turned to find them staring at them with wide eyes. Devin had his mouth open that a fly accidentally went in, causing him to start coughing.

"Wow, what a surprise indeed," Abeke spoke up.
