Rollan and Meilin/Conor and Abeke - Camping Trip (Part Two)
The Four Fallen arrive in Eura and decided to go camping in the woods. Though they don't know it, two spies are among them.
Okay, more Reilin and Conbeke interacting here! And here's a long one!
- - -
"Are we there yet?" Rollan asked for like, the hundredth time.
"Rollan, I swear if you ask that same question one more time, i'm going to murder you!" Meilin almost growled.
"Okay then," Rollan said, "Are we in Eura yet?"
"Okay that's it," Meilin muttered, starting to walk towards Rollan with a murderous look.
- - -
Nearby, two people disguised as one of the sailors were watching.
"Looks like i'm winning," Eilene whispered quietly.
"Don't speak too soon," John replied confidently, "They'll come around."
- - -
Rollan looked at Meilin nervously while Conor and Abeke watched annoyed.
"So, uh, a little help here?" Rollan asked, backing up.
"Nah you're on your own," Abeke told him.
"What happened to watching each others backs?" Rollan muttered, still backing up.
"We're here!" Conor exclaimed, rushing to the railings.
"Land!" Rollan whooped, "I'm out of here!"
"Since this is a vacation," Meilin muttered reluctantly, "I'll let you go. For now."
- - -
"Haha, who's winning now?" John asked Eilene smugly.
"The trip hasn't even started yet," Eilene rolled her eyes.
"Oh it will, soon."
- - -
"Can...we take...a break..." Rollan huffed in between breaks.
They've been following Conor as they walked through the forest. They decided to go camping and Conor knew a place where his brothers used to camp when they herded sheep nearby.
"It hasn't been even 30 minutes and you're already complaining?" Meilin raised an eyebrow.
"Hey, it's been so long since we last traveled all over the world," Rollan shot back.
"And now you're not panting anymore," Abeke muttered.
Suddenly, Conor's wolf senses sharpened as he heard bushes rustling nearby. He abruptly stopped, "Did you hear that?"
"Hear what?" Rollan asked flatly.
"I heard it too," Abeke nodded.
"Who's there?" Conor demanded, looking behind them.
Silence.
"No one's here," Meilin told him, "Now let's keep going before I lose my patience around this guy."
"And this guy has a name," Rollan retorted.
As the Four Fallen pulled ahead, Rollan and Meilin bickering in the distance, John and Eilene were hiding in the bush.
"Careful where you step next time," Eilene hissed at him, "We almost got caught."
"So now you're in with the plan?" John asked.
"No but i'd rather not face Meilin's wrath," Eilene said, exaggerating a bit before following them once more.
- - -
"Finally," Rollan cried out, falling to the ground in mock relief.
Meilin muttered something out of her breath as she put down her pack and started setting up her tent. The others started to get to work as well as their Spirit Animals ran around. Or more like Briggan and Uraza started playing some sort of an animal tag game while Jhi watched nearby. Essix just flew overhead.
Eilene watched them very bored, "So what were you saying about this being fun?"
"Well then, time to interfere a bit," John said, a mischievous grin on his face.
Eilene just rolled her eyes and waited for John to do whatever he was about to do. Then he summoned his Spirit Animal, Rusty and whispered something in his ear. Some sort of grin appeared on Rusty's face as he let out a bark and started running to where Briggan and Uraza were.
"Now watch and learn," John told her, laying back down on his pack.
Briggan and Uraza spotted Rusty and they seemed to look bewildered. They seemed to have started communicating for Rusty had darted towards where the tents were, Briggan and Uraza following in pursuit. Then they started to run around, messing up Rollan's and Abeke's tents, breaking them in the process.
"Hey!" Abeke scolded, "Uraza, Briggan, what are you doing?"
"There's...there's another wolf," Rollan exclaimed in surprise.
Rusty quickly disappeared out of view and Briggan and Uraza returned to their partner's side.
"Great," Rollan muttered, "It's wrecked."
Meilin groaned, "So we have two tents left."
- - -
"I gotta admit, that was a great idea," Eilene told John, "but do you seriously think Rollan and Meilin will sleep in the same tent as well as Conor and Abeke?"
"Just watch and learn," John mumbled.
- - -
"Okay then, me and Abeke can share a tent," Meilin suggested, "And you boys can share the other one."
- - -
Eilene looked at John smugly.
- - -
"Or," Rollan cut in, "We can mix it up a bit."
- - -
This time, it was John's turn to look smug.
- - -
"W-What?" Conor stammered.
"I can sleep in Meilin's tent, Abeke can sleep in Conor's-"
"That is the worst idea I've ever heard in my whole entire life," Meilin cut in.
"What? You too chicken to do it?" Rollan challenged her with a smirk.
Meilin scoffed, "Me? Chicken? Please, if anyone's a chicken it's you."
"Then you wouldn't mind if I sleep in your tent," Rollan told her, "Unless you're too chicken to do a simple dare."
"Uh, don't me and Conor have a say in this?" Abeke asked.
"Fine, i'll do it," Meilin muttered, both of them ignoring Abeke's question, "but don't you dare get any ideas."
"You have my word," Rollan said with a smirk.
Conor and Abeke just exchanged a glance and sighed. The two have made up their minds and they knew better than to argue with Meilin.
- - -
"Score for me," John said.
Eilene just shook her head in disbelief, "I cannot believe that that just happened."
"Believe it or not, i'm winning," John said, "And I will get them to kiss."
"You know, I sometimes wonder what would've happened if I never met you," Eilene sighed.
"You wouldn't be having as much fun as you're having right now," John replied, "Am I right?"
"You know what?" Eilene said, standing up, "I'm just going to set my tent."
John chuckled, "I'll take that as a yes."
- - -
The four friends were seated around their little campfire as they decided to play one of their favorite games, truth or dare. Nearby, hidden from view sat John and Eilene as they looked on. Rollan, who had a bottle, spun it around and it pointed to Conor who gulped.
"Conor's starting our game then," Rollan spoke with a grin, "Truth or dare?"
"Uh coming from you, none of them are good," Conor muttered, "Truth."
"Hm, let's see here," Rollan said, pretending to think hard though they all knew he already had a question for him, "Is it true that you like Abeke more than just friends?"
Conor's eyes widened and he tried to hide the blush appearing on his cheeks.
- - -
"Hehehe," John chuckled quietly nearby, "After the confessions, they'll kiss right after, i'm certain of that."
"Not always," Eilene muttered.
"Really? Name me one time that it never happened?" John asked.
Eilene seemed to hesitate, "I'm not exactly sure but take us as an example."
"That doesn't count," John protested, "It was during some...unfortunate times."
"Yeah whatever," Eilene rolled her eyes, "If they kiss right after, i'll cook dinner but if they don't, you're doing it."
John groaned, "Fine."
- - -
"So, Conor," Meilin teased, "Did you?"
Abeke just watched on curiously.
"W-Well," Conor stuttered, "I-I m-might've t-thought of that."
"Hmm, i'm not taking that as an answer," Rollan shook his head, "I want an honest, straightforward ans-"
"Yes, I do like Abeke," Conor blurted out before blushing once more.
"Y-You do?" Abeke squeaked out in surprise.
"Y-Yeah, just forget what I said," Conor mumbled, "Can we just get on with the game?"
"Right, spin the bottle," Rollan told him.
Conor spun the bottle and it stopped, pointing at Meilin.
"Alright then, truth or dare?" Conor asked.
"Dare," Meilin replied.
- - -
"Conor, i'm silently begging you right now," John whispered-shouted, "Dare Meilin to kiss Rollan."
"Hold up," Eilene told him, "That doesn't count. It wouldn't be a true kiss and you of all people should know that."
"Uh, why would I know that?" John asked, confused.
Eilene rolled her eyes, "Because you're the "love doctor". Or at least you call yourself that."
"Yes, that's exactly correct," John replied, "Just testin' ya."
"Sure you were," Eilene mumbled.
- - -
(A/N: I got this dare from another fan fiction I was reading so yeah. I thought that it was a pretty good dare.)
"Okay then, I dare you to compliment all three of us and give us a hug later. Then say one thing that's bad about you," Conor said..
"Not bad," Abeke told him.
"Oooh, Meilin complimenting us," Rollan smirked, "I'm looking forward to that. And the hug too of course."
Meilin just glared at Conor, then at Rollan before reluctantly starting, "Okay fine. Abeke-"
"And be thoughtful and creative with your answers," Conor quickly added, "I'm not taking a short one."
"Ugh, fine," Meilin said, "Abeke, I might've misjudged you before but the truth is, you have a kind heart. You were always determined to prove yourself and i'm sorry for misjudging your before and hurting you. I'm glad to have you as a friend."
"Aw, thanks Meilin," Abeke smiled, "You're a great friend too."
"Yeah," Meilin said before moving on to Conor, "Conor, you're probably one of the most kindest people I've ever met. I kind of almost miss the very kind Conor who's always sweet and humble and during that time when we were together underground..." She took a deep breath, "I swear, you kept on suggesting that we leave you behind and I've never have seen someone so willing to sacrifice their life just to save the rest of Erdas. I'm glad that everything turned out okay in the end."
"Wow, that's well, thanks Meilin," Conor seemed to be a bit surprised by that.
"Whatever, you won't be hearing much of that from me," Meilin mumbled.
"Wait, you forgot to hug us," Abeke told her.
Meilin quickly went to hug Abeke then Conor. Now she faced Rollan who was looking at her with a smirk.
- - -
"Do I hear the ship about to sail?" John spoke up.
For the first time ever since they boarded the ship, Eilene grinned, "I'm pretty sure it's happening soon. You know, this might not be a bad idea after all."
"I told you so," John said.
"Yeah, whatever," Eilene replied, "Reilin is about to go."
"I kinda prefer Rollin you know?" John told her.
"Reilin or Rollin they're still Rollan and Meilin," Eilene said.
- - -
"Okay then, Rollan," Meilin spoke, "To be honest, the first time I met you, it wasn't easy trusting a thief."
"First of all, I didn't steal the-"
"Shut up, i'm not done," Meilin interrupted him, "but the more I kept on talking to you, I started to warm up to your jokes. You can be so annoying at times but...that's one of the reasons I like about you."
"Aww," Abeke and Conor cooed but quieted down when Meilin gave them a quick glare.
"And i'm really grateful when you took my mind of things like back in Arctica," Meilin went on.
"You even got snugly back there," Abeke quickly added, "What with all the kissy-face and all."
"And how you've shown your support when I was controlled by the Bile."
"And we all know how that ended," Conor added, exchanging an amused glance with Abeke.
"Seriously you two, stop interrupting," Meilin snapped and they both quieted down. But that didn't stop them from snickering, "Anyways, where was I? Oh yeah, i'm just really glad that I met you. Well i'm glad I met all of you guys of course."
"Why thank you m'lady," Rollan joked.
"So, you guys gonna kiss or what?" Abeke piped up.
- - -
"Yes, yes, yes," John whisper-shouted silently.
"As much as i'd love for them to kiss, I do not want to lose this bet," Eilene mumbled.
"Well, you'll have to face the fact that i'm winning," John told her.
- - -
"Er, i'd take the hug," Meilin said before making her way to Rollan.
She seemed to hesitate a little when Rollan suddenly hugged her. Meilin felt a bit surprised but she hugged him back.
"Thanks," Rollan whispered into her ear, "I really liked what you said earlier. And i'm glad I met you too."
"Ah, where's the water," Conor quietly said, "This is too sweet."
"Shut up," Abeke hissed, "Don't ruin the moment."
After a couple of seconds of hugging, they finally pulled apart. Meilin looked down, feeling quite embarrassed and shy like that time when they first kissed.
"Yeah, i'm done now, right?" Meilin asked.
"Nope," Conor replied, "You still have to say one bad thing about yourself."
"Okay fine," Meilin snapped, "I may have a bit of a temper and I may misjudge others at times."
- - -
"Aw man," John sighed, "They didn't kiss."
Eilene let out a laugh, a small smile forming on her face, "You spoke too soon, oh great son of Lord Gaundor."
"Again with that nickname," John muttered.
"Anyways, you're cooking dinner," Eilene told him.
"Fine," John groaned, "but they will kiss tomorrow."
- - -
"Okay then," Abeke announced, "I'm getting tired. Let's call it a night, shall we?"
"A memorable night indeed," Conor grinned before they both headed into their tent leaving Meilin and Rollan alone.
"Shall we?" Rollan asked, looking at Meilin.
Meilin rolled her eyes, "You're sleeping on a separate mattress just so you know."
"Still the same tent," Rollan shrugged.
Meilin gave him a warning look and he quickly added, "Don't worry, i'm staying on my side of the tent."
"You better," Meilin mumbled before going inside.
Rollan smirked then added to himself, "No promises."
