Conor and Rollan - Drowning and...Kissing?

They decided to go camping beside a lake in Amaya, wanting to have some relaxation from the war. They suddenly get some unexpected visitors which led to some unexpected actions...

Warning: This can get REALLY weird! Probably my weirdest and craziest idea yet!

Spoiler: Burning Tide

Oh and before I forget. Here's one where Devin didn't get stabbed.

The four heroes decided to go camping beside a lake in Amaya for they wanted to relax from the stressing battle with the Wyrm.

Meilin was setting up the tents, Abeke was trying to get their fire going while the boys were...well, somehow, Rollan had accidentally tied a hard knot around Conor's hands so they were struggling to untie it.

Rollan was the first to spot the two figures who were walking towards them.

"Is that..." Conor's voice trailed off as the two figures came into view, his hands still tied up.

One wore a long, flowing red cloak with a white mask which had a carving of a wildcat. The other had a red cloak too, only he didn't wore a mask, showing his unnatural yellow eyes that looked like a crocodile's. He had pale blonde hair and they knew who he was the minute he came into view.

"Shane," Abeke was the first to break the tense silence gathering between all of them.

"And De- Worthy," Rollan immediately corrected himself, glancing at Conor and Meilin.

They still didn't know Worthy's true identity as Devin.

"Abeke, Rollan," Shane nodded then glanced at the other two, "Meilin and Conor."

There was another silence.

"So the king lives," Meilin sneered with unmistakeable hatred.

"Yes, that is true," Shane admitted, "I've been in a coma. Thanks to Yunaris' healing, I was able to recover miraculously."

"You must've had extreme luck to survive once again," Meilin muttered, "but you must believe to have a lot of luck if you think you can walk out of here without me punching you in the face!"

But before Meilin could go haywire on him, Rollan and Abeke held her back.

"Meilin, just calm down and listen," Rollan said, "He's good...well, getting there." This got a glare from Abeke.

Conor looked at the Redcloaks suspiciously, "Why are you here and who's this?"

They exchanged a glance before Shane replied, "We're here to...set things right and apologize for our past crimes."

"You're unforgiven," Meilin told him flatly.

Abeke looked at her, "Meilin, he's changed."

"Well, the fact that he betrayed us and that it was his own Spirit Animal that killed my father doesn't change," Meilin replied coldly.

"Yet he made a group of Redcloaks which Rollan and Abeke wouldn't have passed their quest if it weren't for them," Conor pointed out, slightly surprising them, "And he himself risked his life to save Abeke, almost dying in the process. I'd be lying if I didn't say that we wouldn't have defeated the Wyrm without them."

"After all he's done?" Meilin asked, glaring at Conor, "You forgive them just like that?"

"I never said that I have forgiven them," Conor replied firmly, momentarily forgetting about the knot around his hand, "Sure, maybe in time but there's no point in holding grudges."

"I'd take all your punches just to be forgiven," Shane added, "I deserve it for I had been the reason you lost your home... and family.

"You'll end up in another coma and this time, you won't be waking up," Meilin muttered.

"Why don't you two just take a walk and, er, talk about it for awhile," Abeke suggested, sounding slightly reluctant, "Worthy has something to say to Conor."

Rollan, Meilin, and Shane didn't seem okay with the idea but they reluctantly agreed.

Meilin pulled out her hard, metal staff, "Make a wrong move and you'll be back into that coma."

Shane only nodded and the two of them walked away.

Meanwhile, Conor looked slightly confused, "What is it that you'd like to talk about?"

"Why don't we head closer to the lake," Abeke suggested, "You know, far away from any piece of equipment."

The truth? She didn't want Conor to suddenly stumble back and hurt himself from the shock of Worthy's identity or for him to suddenly attack him, which was unlikely to happen.

As soon as they reached the side of the lake, Worthy took a deep breath, "There's something...important that I have to tell you."

"Okay," Conor nodded slowly.

"Just...try not to freak out," Worthy mumbled.

"I won't," Conor reassured him.

The thing was, Conor thought the guy was only anxious that he might scare him away since Abeke told him that the Redcloaks were kind of inheriting the skills and features of their Spirit Animal.

Worthy slowly took out his mask, revealing the face that Conor had dreaded to see back in his days as a servant.

Devin Trunswick.

At that moment, Conor suddenly snatched up Rollan's dagger and stabbed him.

JUST KIDDING! That wasn't what happened.

Worthy slowly took out his mask, revealing the face that Conor had dreaded to see back in his days as a servant.

Devin Trunswick.

Conor didn't freak out from his messed up face, like he had been expecting. He freaked out from his face in general, like Devin had been expecting.

From the sudden shock of the reveal, Conor had stumbled back and realized that he had stepped into empty air and had plunged into the lake. He tried to swim up until he remembered that his hands were still tied up. He tried to kick but he didn't make much progress. He felt strong arms around him just before he blacked out.

"Is he dead?" Devin asked as a dripping Rollan dragged an unconscious Conor from the lake.

"He can't breath," Abeke exclaimed, "He swallowed too much water."

"What do we do?" Rollan asked, beginning to panic.

"I don't know, do the CPR thing," Abeke suggested.

"Okay, you go do it," Rollan said.

"I don't know how!"

"How do you not know how? Devin, do you know how?"

"Er, my breath smells like cat breath," Devin admitted, "And i'm sure he won't appreciate that."

"He already smells," Rollan snapped, "It won't make much difference!"

"Rollan, it was you who got him tied up," Abeke said, "Just do it before he dies!"

"But..." Rollan glanced at his dying friend, before steeling himself, "Fine!"

He kneeled beside him hesitantly, "Uh, what do I do first? The pushing part or the... um, mouth-to-mouth part?"

"I don't know. Any?"

Rollan decided to do the less hard part (on his opinion) and placed both his hands on his chest.

"Make sure you use your upper body to push down," Devin instructed, "It has to be 2 inches but not 2.4 inches more."

(A/n: Feel free to correct me. I'm probably saying this wrong so don't try this. I remembered someone telling me that you have two push a little lower from the chest area or something. Gah ignore mah mistakes!)

"How do you know all of this?"

"Shane taught us since we're always traveling by ship," Devin replied, "Glad to know that someone would be able to save my life, in case Karmo tries to drown me or something."

Rollan did as he was told and started pushing into his chest, worried that he might accidentally break a rib.

After doing it for about 30 times, Devin said, "Now you have to clear the airway by tilting his head up. Pinch his nose then breathe in twice. Just, don't breathe too hard or his lungs might pop or something."

"Reassuring," Rollan muttered.

Rollan gulped nervously before steeling himself and leaning down. He hesitated for a second before he felt someone (guessing it was Abeke) push him down, forcing his lips onto Conor's. It felt...warm and soft on his lips. I mean it had a different feeling than kissing Meilin...maybe because she wasn't unconscious?

He then realized that he wasn't doing anything and it looked like they were kissing. He started blowing into his mouth once but before he could blow a second time, a cough came from Conor's mouth. The worst part was that the water he had coughed up went straight into Rollan's mouth who didn't pull back in time.

Rollan spat out the water, clearly disgusted as Conor kept on coughing, "W-What just happened?"

"Er, you kinda drowned," Devin answered for him and Conor seemed to have remembered that he had been there.

"I know that but I meant like right now?" He asked, looking at Rollan who was spitting non-stop.

"Idiot, you coughed out water into my mouth!" Rollan exclaimed.

"Well, I wouldn't have done that if you weren't...kissing me," Conor said.

"I was trying to save you!"

"What happened here?" They all turned to find Meilin and Shane walking towards them.

The two boys just exchanged a look.
