Conor and Abeke - Tenavo Again?
Abeke goes off on another hunt to Nilo but this time, only bringing Conor with her. That and Tenavo strikes them once again...
Who doesn't like Tenavo? 😂

"Er, how do you use this bow again?" Conor asked nervously as they walked through the Niloan savannah.
Abeke sighed, "Honestly, Conor, it's not that hard."
"Easy for you to say," he mumbled.
"I've taught you how to place an arrow and draw back the string ten times," Abeke said, "We've even done it together. Surely you should've known how to do it by now!"
"Okay you're right," Conor admitted, "Sorry."
She immediately felt guilt, "No i'm sorry. I just dragged you into something that you haven't done before."
"Please don't be," Conor chuckled, "Compared to hunting down talismans, this should be pretty easy."
"You shouldn't have said that," Abeke said, looking around nervously.
"Why?"
"You'll be testing our luck. There's this thing called Tenavo and-"
"Oh yeah right," Conor nodded, "Rollan had told me all about it. Hunting should be...a little challenging at first."
They began walking once more, both their spirit animals padding beside them. Uraza stopped to sniff the air before veering off to another direction.
"I think Uraza has something," Abeke whispered, stalking after the Great Leopard.
Conor exchanged a glance with Briggan before following after her, not as silent as they were. They then came across a herd of antelopes, one a little farther from the herd.
"Okay watch," Abeke said, nocking an arrow into the bow.
'We can take this one,' Conor thought as he watched Abeke pull the string back, aiming at the target, 'She never misses.'
In fact, she didn't miss. The arrow went sailing, hitting it right at the leg. The bad news is, the antelope let out a loud cry of pain, alerting the other antelopes. Before they knew it, they had caused a stampede.
'Can Tenavo really hear my thoughts?' Conor thought.
Abeke released another arrow, this time sending the antelope down, killing it immediately. They quickly got out of their hiding place and ran towards the antelope.
Abeke looked sad, "I'm sorry."
Conor felt guilty, "It's alri-"
"I'm sorry for missing the shot and causing you some pain before your last moments in life," Abeke went in, leaning beside the antelope.
'Oh, she wasn't talking to me,' Conor thought.
"I should be saying sorry," Conor admitted, "I think I caused some Tenavo stuff by thinking you never miss."
Abeke gave me a confused glance, "Wait, wha-"
She was cut off by a loud growl and they both turned around. You might be thinking, 'Oh yey. Another lion.' No, it's five lions. And they were big and muscular. If it were a few tigers, they would've done fine but five? Er not so much.
"Is this where we run?" Conor squeaked.
Before they knew it, they were sprinting through the savanna, screaming like a bunch of scared kids (oh wait, they are), as the lions began running after them. Luckily, two had split up, going after the stampeding antelopes but that left three more.
Briggan veered to the left, jumping down into a dried up riverbank. They quickly followed, running after the speeding wolf. If it weren't for their spirit animals, they'd never outrun these lions.
"We need to split up," Abeke yelled as they came to a fork in the riverbed.
"What?" Conor exclaimed, "No way!"
Before they could argue further one of the lions had jumped down from above, claws outstretched as it aimed for Abeke. Uraza intercepted only barely as he lion scratched her quiver of arrows, causing it to fall, which had been previously strapped to her back. They became a whirlwind of teeth and claws.
Briggan spun around to help, only to be tackled by another lion. The third lion was still running for Conor and Abeke.
"Okay, we're not splitting up," Abeke said as they began to run.
They both went left, only to stop immediately as they came to a dead end. The river must've been deep cause...well they were stuck there. They both turned around to find the remaining lion stalking towards them, its mouth dripping with saliva from hunger.
Conor tried to get his axe, only to remember that he had left it back at Abeke's village. Instead, he pulled out his bow and tried to grab some arrows only to feel air. He just remembered he dropped them while he had been running.
They were doomed.
"Abeke, this is my fault," Conor whispered to her, "I cause Tenavo and-"
"Of course," she exclaimed, looking around and quickly grabbing some plants that had grown nearby. She then uprooted them before giving it to Conor, "Wave this around and start jumping while saying the intenavo chant."
"What?" Conor squeaked.
"Just do it," Abeke said as they pressed against the wall of dirt, the lion advancing.
"I don't even know the chant!"
"Just start dancing!"
He probably looked like some drunk idiot, waving the leaves around and jumping as he started saying, "Oh hungry lion, don't you dare eat our flesh. We're not appetizing as antelopes!"
If anything, the lion only looked amused. It then let out a huge roar. With a yelp, Conor threw the leaves, shooting it into the lion's mouth. The lion froze before it started coughing and hacking like it had a hairball.
Instantly, Uraza and Briggan were there, knocking the lion out. Conor and Abeke exchanged a glance before following their spirit animals out of their.

"Wow, I can't believe that worked," Conor was saying as they walked back to her village, dragging their antelope.
"Not in the way I expected either," Abeke said, shaking her head, "Next time, i'm taking Meilin out for hunting. Hunting with you boys only brought in the lions."
