Hi there! My name's Alaina. Alaina Smarties. I go to Hooper Middle School, where everyone is a basketball fan. Students AND Staff. I'm thirteen... Seventh Grade. I'm also Academically Gifted...
Well, I have a problem, you see. I forgot to turn the clock back an hour... So when I though it was 6:00, it was actually 7:00.
I started getting ready at what I thought was 6:00. It doesn't take me long to get ready, I just wake up early to go on Jurassic World the Game and Wattpad. (These best apps ever.) The bus comes at around 7:15, so I have fifteen minutes to get ready and an hour for games and books.
As I was applying my deodorant after brushing my teeth, I heard air brakes. I saw white and orange strobe lights. I darted out of the bathroom and grabbed my stuff. Purse, phone, earphones.
The bus honked its horn once. The bus usually honks three times before moving on if you're not at the stop.
I forgot my glasses! I remembered before grabbing those too.
The bus honked again.
I ran out the door, fumbling with the zipper of my jacket.
The bus halfly honked before seeing me. I could practically hear the driver sigh from where I was on the porch. I finally reached the bus and quickly trudged past the other kids.
I sat down and felt the bus start moving. I heard a crack in the seat next to me.
Being the curious child I am, I snapped my neck to look over at the sound.
Cue the whiplash.
I winced as I held my neck but still looked for where the noise came from. It was still pretty dark. We passed a street lamp, and I saw fur.
A tail.
Ice blue eyes, not human eyes.
I heard a huff before a growl, it was loud. Not so loud to where it alerted the bus driver. Other kids didn't notice.
I watched as the wolf, looking terrified of being on a moving vehicle, surprisingly attempted to be silent, in the seat across from mine. It started whimpering lowly, but I went,
'Shhh...'
Well, it looked at me and sent a silent snarl, teeth bared.
...I don't think it was smiling.
