Chapter Two: Fear Me

The soldier drove up to the gate of the CIA base. The security guard asked for an ID, was shown one, and allowed him through the gate.

After parking his vehicle, the soldier hopped out and went to Parkinson's office.

"Ah, Brandt," he said. "You're back. Did you acquire Franklin?" The soldier shut his eyes, holding back tears.

"No, sir," he said. "But we did find him. I'm the only one who made it out alive."

"Why?" Parkinson asked.

"To show you this." The soldier rolled up his sleeve to reveal FIND ME engraved into his skin. "He wants you to come after him yourself."

Parkinson sighed. "Go get yourself checked out. I'll handle this myself," he told the soldier. He saluted his commander before turning to leave. Parkinson closed his eyes and pinched the top of his nose. He walked out of the room and into the control center. He walked towards an analyst with a computer and a Bluetooth.

"Pull up the body cams on the men sent after Franklin," he ordered. The analyst did as they were told. There were twenty cameras pulled up on the monitors in the front of the room. He watched as several screens lit up with fire, followed by static. A few more followed, until it was down to four cameras. Three were attacked, then settled, frozen on the ceiling or floor. The last one stayed active. The soldier was knocked unconscious and was tied to a chair. It showed Finn carve into the victim's arm. The soldier was told to go back to Parkinson once he was conscious once again.

Parkinson was left shaken and horrified. He went back to his office and sat in his chair for a couple of hours, just staring off into space. He reached into a cabinet and pulled out a glass and a bottle of scotch. He poured a glass, and sipped on it. The analyst knocked on the door.

"Come in," Parkinson said.

"Sir, are you okay?" she asked.

"I'm a-okay. Scotch?" he offered.

"I'm fine, sir. But... what are you gonna do about Franklin?" she asked.

Parkinson sighed. "I'm gonna kill him myself."
