"And this is my hobo shack! Or uh, apartment."

Remington laughed at Nicolettes description- it seemed like he was laughing a lot recently- until he actually stepped over the threshold and took in the sight around him. Nicolette walked like there was nothing wrong, setting her back and keys down in a very practiced manner.

The entire living quarter was black. No lights, the purple curtains drawn shut and clipped together. The string of fairy lights that hug in a looping manner on the walls were unplugged and dusty. Everything was dusty, actually, from the top of the TV to the doorknobs on some doors. It was freezing cold too, which seems odd in the blistering heat of Arizona summer. The whole room was the literal definition of pathetic. Remington shifted as he tried to wipe the sadden look off his face as he swallowed.

"It's uh- inviting." He said weakly. Nicolette shook her head with a weak smirk. "No it's not. It's the saddest thing ever." She called out his delicate lie. Remington sighed in relief, and nodded in agreement. "Yeah, just a little. Maybe we could get some light in here...?" He mumbled, taking wide steps over to her curtains. He pulled the little bow and the curtains fell open gracefully, letting in a little natural light and the wonderful view of a brick wall. "Nice scenery around here." Remington joked, turning around to see how the room looked with the new light source.

He saw Nicolette looking like a deer caught in headlights as she stood in front of a darkened room, holding the doorknob loosely. "What's in there?" Remington asked cautiously, stepping towards the slender woman only to have her start, slam the door, and body block it. Her eyes were wide with hysteria. "Nothing! Nothing what so ever! Just some, uh, underwear?" Nicolettes voice pitched as she winced at her lie. "Yeah, some dirty laundry, stuff you definitely don't want to see."

Remington looked at her and laughed in shock. "It's almost like you have a body in there." Nicolettes laughed weakly with him. "Pssssh what? No way! But would it help if I did?" She asked with a sudden serious tone, making Remington blink at her. "Um, Nicky, I'm the guest. If you don't want me going somewhere then I won't." He said. It's almost as if she's never had someone over before. Although, Remington couldn't deny that he wasn't curious. "Cool, cool. So-" she coughed briefly, trying to clear her throat. "I just remembered I don't have my food in the house." Nicolette pulled a sheepish smile. Remington looked at her with concern.

"Uh, ok." He wanted to ask so many questions, but he knew it wasn't his place. "So! Pizza? Or what?" Nicolette asked, before her knees buckled and she feel flat on her face. "Shit! You okay?" Remington rushes to help her up, but she just waved him off. "Yeah yeah, I'm fine thanks. Jeez this is embarrassing." She laughed, leaning heavily on her counter as she rubbed her cheek. "Must've got my sock caught up on a nail or something."

She wasn't wearing socks. In fact, she hadn't even taken off her shoes.

"....right." Remington said, obviously not believing her. "What really happened?" Nicolette sighed with angst, "Fine. I've got a B12 vitamin deficiency. Makes me super dizzy if I don't eat." She admitted. Remington looked at her with disappointment, "Well, why haven't you eaten?" He said, taking her arm and guiding her to her door. "We're going to your clinic, by the way." Nicolette shook her head. "No don't, Denice will kill me if I'm back this soon." She tried to pull away from his grip, but he was stronger than her looked. Nicolette huffed in defeat as she allowed him to guide her stumbling feet towards her car. "I hate you're doing this by the way." She glowered. Remington just smiled sweetly at her as she closed her door and jogged to the drivers side.

"I've basically assigned myself as your nurse since I've met you. Gotta keep my ghost healthy." Remington laughed. Nicolette scrunched her nose at him. "Ghost? What?"

"When I saw you at the park, I legitimately thought you were a ghost. So, ghost."
