Nicolette did in fact, end up jumping out of the window. It wasn't a graceful leap either, like would be expected of a ballerina. No, at first she couldn't even get the window open, and once she did she just kind of rolled out of it. The woman didn't account for the five foot drop -which she never would understand why that was there- and the bushes that were surprisingly filled with thorns.

So, now Nicolette was laying in dirt, sandwiched between a brick wall and a thick hedge, her arms reaching above her body from where she tried to catch herself, and her legs tangled in the hedge. She didn't even want to know what was going on with her hair, and the only feeling she could register was a stinging pain from the scratches on her arms and back, given to her from the wall and the bush. She could hear Jay inside the house, laughing his ass off as he shut the window firmly. That bastard. Nicolette thought to herself bitterly, before starting to think of a way out of her situation.

She could roll over, and get more scratched, and possibly pull some of her hair out, or she could start to sit up and crack her head on the protruding windowsill above her. Maybe there was a secret third option she wasn't thinking of, but any of the routes she took would involve just a touch more pain. "Fuck this." She reached up to the windowsill and clenched her abs, pulling herself up slow enough to avoid a concussion. Despite her careful maneuvering, Nicolette still managed to scrap the top of her shoulder on the brick, hissing in pain as her body protested all of her movements. She walked down the sidewalk, realizing that she had to look something like a gutter rat.

Her car, luckily, was parked close by. Nicolette still wasn't sure why she drove to Jay's house immediately, but she figured she didn't have to think about it so much. Instead, her head was filled with reliving the whole reason why she was even in the neighborhood.

"Remington, can you get a nurse? My IV's done." She remembered asking. Remington had looked at her like she was stupid, gesturing with his own stuck arm. "I can't, Nicolette. Same situation." The two of them locked eyes and smiled, losing themselves for a second before Remington cleared his throat and looked at the linoleum. Nicolette could still feel her cheeks heating up as she realized that she didn't actually mind the company of this man. "Welp." Nicolette sighed and looked down at her arm. It's not like I haven't done this before, she reasoned as she pinched the bottom of the needle and worked it out of her skin.

"Woa, hey! What're you- Jesus!" Remington tried to protest but Nicolette was already taking off wires and slapping a piece of tape over the hole from the needle. "You're crazy!" He laughed, making the woman shake her head. "Just impatient."

Nicolette sighed and shook her head presently, rubbing the spot where the IV was. There was a slight bruise there now, just a little purple and yellow splotch on the inside crook of her elbow. She almost wished she had never said anything about being impatient, since it seemed to spark a fire in Remington. But, she also wasn't going to complain if he continued to treat her like he had yesterday.

Remington raised an eyebrow, "Impatient, huh? Good to know..." Nicolette wasn't entirely sure how to take that, so she just smiled and offered to take his IV out for him. Remington declined, demonstrating that he could take it out himself with a little wince. "Here." Nicolette said softly, offering him her hand. He took it firmly and she pulled him to his feet, but he didn't let go of her hand. Nicolette couldn't stop herself from smiling softly, making Remington smirk down at her. "Let's get out of here." She mumbled, pulling Remington out of the room. Nicolette noted that his eyes were sparkling, and his cheeks were flushed with color. He looked alive. She felt alive.

"Where are we going?" Remington asked as the two ran hand in hand out of the clinic, despite the many shouts to slow down, etc. "I don't know." Nicolette laughed, significantly slowing their pace. It's difficult to laughs and run at the same time. "Isn't it great!" She said, glancing at Remington. There was a look in his eyes that made her heart stutter, but she just shook it off. At least, she tried to.

Remington had stopped suddenly in the middle of the street, the sun beating down on both of them. Nicolette didn't know how it happened exactly. One second, she was running and laughing, her back to the sun, the next she was being spun around by Remingtons grip on her hand and crashed into the man, who then let go of her hand and cupped the back of her neck and pulled her into him.
