Sophie's POV
It was 8:30 am, and I was sleeping a dreamless sleep. Suddenly I hear a loud ringing bell. Of course, it was my alarm bell. "Ugh shut up" I shout to the clock, even though I know I can't get it quiet that way. Sandor comes through the door and turns it off for me. "Good Morning Miss. Foster, time to wake up!" "In a minute!" I call.
In about ten minutes, I get up, realizing the time. "Oh no I should've woke up earlier!" I frantically put on my Foxfire uniform, that is kinda rumpled. I comb my hair so fast, that I wasn't sure if I had combed it, or if I detached all of my hair. I go downstairs, hoping I still have sometime to pack. When I look at myself in the mirror, Vertina immediately comes and starts ogling. "Oh my goodness Sophie what have you done to your hair?" Ugh that mirror is SO annoying. Before Vertina could say anything, I went downstairs.
I go downstairs, and I smell something delicious. Turns out, Edaline was making warm breakfast cookies.(if that's not a thing, then pretend it is) "Look who's finally out of bed!" Grady says, emphasizing the 'finally'. "Am I late for school? I ask my adoptive dad. "Not yet sweetie but you might want to eat your breakfast a little faster." Edaline, her adoptive mom, says pointing to her food, which was still giving out the sweet aroma. "Okay." I say. Once I take a bite, I instantly feel like I'm in heaven. I gobble it up, because I need more. After Edaline gives me more of the cookie, I go to the Leapmaster 500 and immediately find myself in the halls of Foxfire. Sometimes I still wonder why my school is named after a glowing fungus. When I lick my locker open, it tastes like oranges. Then I hear someone walk up to me, it was Stina. "Well well well, the great Sophie Foster, what might you be doing here?" Stina says serenely. I roll my eyes and say "this is my school Stina, and I'm putting my things in my locker." "Oh well okay." Stina says. She bends down and drops my book from my hand. "Looks like you dropped something."she says. When I go to pick it up, she puts something very stinky on my arm. "Bye Foster have a nice day!"Stina says as she leaves. Ugh why oh why does this girl have to be SO annoying! I go to the bathroom, and I see what she put on me. It was this circle pill thing, and it was sticking to me like a leach! Oh no I smell like a dragons morning breath. I try to cover it with my cape, and as I exit the girls bathroom I see a beautiful pair of teal eyes looking at me. "Hey Sophie Umm no offense but what's that smell?" Fitz asks. "Sorry Stina put something on me for no reason." I say. "Well let me try to get it off." He offers. I pull up my sleeve, and let him try to pull the thing off. He lightly touches my skin, but a million tingles rush through my body. "Here he says gently pulling off the circle shaped thing. "Thank you so much Fitz I thought I'd never get it off!" I said happily reaching for his arm and giving it a slight squeeze.
Fitz's POV
I saw Sophie coming out of the bathroom with a worried crease between her beautiful eyes. I go to her and find out that that a Stina did something to her again. It takes me a while, but I take the circle shaped thing off, and I lightly touch her skin, and it gives me tingles through my body, which is kinda weird because in the one who did it. I really like Sophie, I really do. But even though I knew she didn't think of me that way, I couldn't help feeling a little proud when goosebumps started to erupt on her arm. I've seen the way she looks at Keefe when he hugs her, and when he puts his arm around her. After she holds my hand, gives it a squeeze, and then walks away, I go to my alchemy class, thinking.
