•|Chapter one: Holy shit.|•
Fear. That’s what she first felt. Nothing but fear filled her mind. Who was going to help her? She lived alone, no family, no friends. Heck, she recently lost everything. She was happily married at eighteen, of course it was early, but they didn’t think they’d be safe for much longer, sadly they were right. Elizabeth had both her husband, and her family murdered all on the same night. They left her. Everyone left her. Gone into oblivion. Her world left to an obsidian state.
The sky was an inky color. So dark, it was terrifying. Quickly, she grabbed a white mask, a small knife, the last water bottle in her fridge, and anything else she deemed necessary. Unlike her usual attire, she wore a black, long sleeve turtleneck with a pair of leggings so it was harder to spot her, yet adjustable and easy to move in.
Now, the nineteen year old girl had to find people. Walking out of her small apartment complex, she ran down a flight of stairs with her stuff in a bag. Avoiding all interaction with police and anyone who would be on the opposing side, she let out a frustrated sigh as she ran.
“Gosh, Lord, if I die… Can you make sure the people who find me bury me in pink? That’s all I want…. Also I want some food before I died! Is that possible?” Elizabeth asked aloud. Right now, she wanted to believe that God, if he was listening, or even real, was replying with a, “Yeah, sure man, anything for you bro.”
But she didn’t know if that would happen in reality. Honestly, it probably wouldn’t. If it did, no one would be there at her funeral. Just strangers. But she decided it was alright. So she finds the nearest house that looked empty and she locked the door. It was dark. Her eyes brushed over the room as a sudden panic comes to attack her lungs. She didn’t know why, but she collapsed.
“Get up Elizabeth. Get up Elizabeth. Get up! I need you up!”
The girl knew it was her mind, nothing else. No one was there at the time. She made sure of it, and nothing could beat her observation skills. That’s just how it was. Nothing more, nothing less. No one actually needed her, she was alone. Maybe she could make friends. Hopefully it'll be over soon. That’d be a lot better, she’d have no friends, but there’d be an end to this tragic feeling.
“Stupid tart, wake up,” a male voice had said while shaking her side repeatedly. Elizabeth was petrified. Shock made her blood feel frozen. Her mind kept running as she opened one eye. Taking notice of a boy first she immediately pushed him away, letting her hands hit him.
“Bloody girl stop it! Is this how you treat the man who saved you? I feel bad for your boyfriend if you have one!” The male exclaimed as he tried to get her hands to still. After three more swings, she stopped. Then she started to cry. His face dropped at the sight of her. ‘One moment she’s a scary monster… The next she’s an emotional teen.’
The boy looked at her, and not even a moment later he noticed her ring. “Oh, you’re married. Sorry girl,” he spoke out to her. She then studied him. An awkward tension filled the air. That is, of course until she started to open her mouth to reply to him.
“Rich brat. I’m guessing you’re one of the English pretty boy’s, right? Also, no I’m not married. I’m widowed. Thanks for the reminder. Off topic, but… Where are we? Who are you? And why the heck am I here? Also, I’m Elizabeth,” Elizabeth questioned quickly. She needed answers fast, she’d get them even if she had to use force.
“I’m Alois Trancy, yes I’m English. Pretty boy? Thanks for the compliment, I know I’m hot. Sorry for your loss, you probably didn’t hit him when he saved you, tart. We’re in… My neighbors attic! I’m my neighbors neighbor! You’re here because I didn’t want to be up here alone…. Nice to meet you Elizabeth!” ‘Alois’, the bratty pretty English boy, spoke with major mood swings.
“Just because you wanted to be alone? That’s,” She paused for a moment thinking about what it was, “ Childishly adorable!” She said finishing off her sentence with an excited tone. The door opened, stopping her from speaking out of fear. Her mind running rapidly, terrified of what would happen next.
“Oh. It’s time for you to meet my neighbors!” The platinum blonde exclaimed happily. The first thing she saw made her even more nervous. A tall shadow of a man stood in the doorway. Broad shoulders came into view. However, a smaller female walked in front of the male. Smiling at the girl the dark haired girl peered into the blonde females green eyes.
“Welcome! I’m glad you’ve awoken! Another day and I would’ve assumed you were dead!” The strange female said in a happy tone, yet her face showed that she was in a deep thought. She didn’t like the silence that was going on after she walked in, so she started talking again. “Are you hungry? Feeling okay? Is everything comfortable? I’ll tell Mr. Flirt to leave the room if you’d like!”
“Holy shit, what?”
