Front Entrance

Granite Warehouse.

7:30 PM

Bunty could not believe his eyes as he saw Victor arrive at the Gate, even though he knew Victor was Loki's twin.

He tightened his grip on the M16 with one hand while he called Loki and informed him of Victor's arrival.

"Search him thoroughly and make them abandon their car and walk towards the office" Loki ordered.

Victor watched all the men and their heavy weapons and realised his worst fears have come true. But his face remained passive as he threw his gun and phone out but did not get out of the truck. Bunty, taken back at this unexpected move, rushed to pick up the gun and phone. As he watched Victor with shrewd eyes, unsure of what to do, Victor grabbed Bunty's mobile off him.

"I don't mind walking because you love watching me from your screen but don't you think it will be too humiliating for your girlfriend and Chacha to be paraded in handcuffs in front of your men?

"Bastard, how dare you? Remove their handcuffs right now." Loki flared up again.

" Fat chance. I will do that once I see my family is returned back to me safely."

"You are in no position to make demands right now. You have no idea..."

Suraj Singh interrupted their angry conversation in his soft voice.

"Loki Beta, this is not the time to argue over such small things. I am too weak to walk right now. This is not even Victor's truck. He threatened the driver of some passing truck, seized it and brought us here."

There was a moment of silence on the phone before Loki finally gave permission to let the truck drive through the entrance gate of the warehouse.

Bunty and his gang followed the truck as it stopped a few metres away from the office, next to a huge crane, while Loki watched them through the window.

Zoya refused any help as she jumped out of the truck and strode fast towards Loki.

Victor turned off the lights of the truck and the engine, which made the whole area eerily quiet and dark, as the faint light from the office barely reached the huge yard.- He left the keys in the truck and climbed out, and Bunty held a gun to Victor's head.

Once they made sure that Victor was not carrying any weapons, they led him and Suraj Chacha towards the security office.

Loki hugged Zoya tightly and kissed her hair as she hid her face in his chest.

Suraj Singh walked towards the desk near the window and grabbed a glass of water with his handcuffed hands, and began to drink from it eagerly. He leaned back against the window, looking tired.

"Where is my family?" Victor asked, his eyes scanning the small storage room and every other corner in that office.

"Ohh... you care only about your family, not your friend Jishu or your dumb girlfriend?" Loki sneered.

"What a foolish question? Well... what can I expect from a man who neither understands the meaning nor the value of family."

Loki lunged towards Victor but Zoya held him back.

Victor continued as if there was no interruption.

"Jishu and Misha are my family too. Jishu has always been like a brother who loves me unconditionally and Misha... "

Suraj Singh dropped the glass in his hands.

There was a splash of water and the sound of the crashing glass made everyone jump.

As everyone's attention was diverted, Monty and Rajiv quietly got out of the cardboard boxes in the truck, pulled on their backpacks and ran towards the back of the office.

As they hid in the shadows, they saw four men from Satish's gang come out of the warehouse carrying machine guns and heavy bags.

One of them was coming towards the office. They signalled to each other in silence and waited for the guy to come closer.

"Chacha .. what happened?" Loki asked gruffly, still stung from the sarcastic reply Victor gave. But as he watched the flustered face of Suraj Singh, he asked in a milder tone, " are you okay Chacha? Don't move. There are glass shreds everywhere."

"I am sorry Beta, I could not hold the glass properly because of.." Suraj Singh looked flustered.

Through the window behind Suraj Chacha, Victor noticed Monty and Rajeev running. Victor reached Suraj Chacha in two strides. He took his time uncuffing Chacha's hands as he observed Satish's gang walking with machine guns, and slowly picked his gun and phone hidden in Suraj Chacha's jacket.

With one hand still holding Chacha's handcuffs, he pulled the key and threw it at Loki.

Loki controlled himself not to lash at Victor anymore and quickly uncuffed Zoya. He then went to to the storage room and unlocked the door.

Misha and Jishu rushed out followed by Arunya, Nirmala and Ayesha.

Victor wound his arm around his bestie Jishu as his eyes caressed the wound on his head.

"I am perfectly fine." Jishu answered the unasked question and Victor turned his attention to his Maa and Di.

"Maa, are you okay, Di. I am so sorry" Victor hugged them both quickly as his eyes became blurry.

Misha's eyes widened in confusion as they darted between Victor and Loki.

"Who are you? I mean.... who is this Victor? What is happening?' She almost looked faint.

Victor could only marvel how good Sharmila was in her role play as Misha, as he approached her in two strides and she collapsed in his arms.

Suraj Singh tiptoed around the shredded glass and brought a bottle of water to Victor.

"Poor girl, she must have been so shocked!" As Suraj Singh made sympathetic sounds. Victor pulled her closer to his chest and slowly carried her to the storage room while Suraj Singh and Jishu moved near the door, effectively blocking everyone's view of them.

But they didn't have to worry. Loki was busy hugging Zoya as he handed over a shiny new gun to her.

"Vic, I am so sorry!" Sharmila managed to whisper.

"Shut up, it is NOT your fault. No one could have predicted Loki to come after us like that. Please, forget all that and focus on what we need to do now." Unconsciously, he pulled her closer.

"Where is Monty?" Sharmila whispered in Victor's ear as his stubble chaffed her cheeks gently.

"Monty and Rajiv must be behind this office by now. There should be a back up team in the woods nearby and they should take care of DJ's men." he whispered back, while laying her down gently on the sofa.

"I saw lots of wooden crates in the warehouse through CCTV. Not sure if they are drugs or guns."

"Guns, heavy ones." Victor sighed and Sharmila was quick to catch a flicker of fear in his eyes. Before she could say anything, Victor shook his head, "I want you to take my family out of here safely, nothing else. I am trusting you with this, I will take care of things here."

"But Victor, I can't leave you..."

"Is she okay? " Nurse Ayesha asked as she walked into the store room.

Victor straightened up.

"She will be fine but can you stay by her side please?" Victor requested Ayesha and returned to the office room, leaving a fuming Sharmila behind.

Sharmila's mobile vibrated and a shiver of panic ran through her as she read the message. She tried to call Victor but he was already back in the office room.

Granite Warehouse

New Delhi

7:15 PM

Monty and Rajiv watched one of the men from Satish's gang walk slowly towards the office, as he struggled to carry the heavy gun on one arm and another heavy bag on the other.

Rajiv knew that most of Sharath Nair's men were experts in drug deals and street thuggery, but not familiar with heavy guns and warfare and this guy might be no exception.

Monty pulled out a bottle of Chloroform out of his backpack and generously sprinkled it on a thick cloth as they waited for their victim to get closer. Both scooped from behind and Rajiv choked his throat with his arm and got hold of his gun first while Monty tackled the other arm and smothered him with the cloth. Within a few moments, he became unconscious.

They took the heavy bag off him and dragged him slowly towards the backend of the office room and tied him up with the ropes in their bag.

They checked the bag the man was carrying. It was full of cartridges and a few hand grenades and Rajiv suspected that the M16 Gun he was carrying was from the cache of weapons DJ supplied to his clients. They can't tackle Satish's gang with such powerful guns on their own. It is best to talk to the back up team first and alert Ajit Doval and the surveillance team.

Monty concluded the same and whispered, "Rajiv, why don't you go and meet the backup team while I wait here and help Victor and Sharmila. We need to let the backup team know about the arms here and also inform HQ that we need more men."

Rajiv nodded quickly and ran towards the back wall. As he got ready to jump, he heard more voices from the other side and halted. He dared to peek briefly and saw Govardhan and his team, fully decked in high tech gear and machine guns.

As he heard Govardhan's low but firm voice, briefing his men on how to deal with Satish's gang and weapons with their gorilla tactics, while making sure the arms stored in the warehouse are protected, his forehead turned sweaty.

One of the men protested, "if these guys are firing at us with M16's and AK47's, we can't zap them with dart guns like the way we did to those agents back there."

A shiver ran through Rajiv. Were they talking about their back up team?

"I understand that the situation has changed now and we will kill if necessary. But remember, we should protect those women inside and also DJ's family." Govardhan reminded him.

Rajiv tiptoed for some distance and ran back as fast as he could in the shadows to reach Monty and gasped, " Backup team is down. We must alert everyone."

"What ?" Monty suppressed his panic and checked the dark shadows again.

"Let's move to the other side towards the store room." They both ran along the shadows around the office and positioned themselves away from the window.

Rajiv began to send messages to Ajit Doval, Surveillance team chief as well as Sharmila.

"DJ uses this warehouse to store the Machine guns and other illegal weapons he supplies to the underworld. DJ sent an elite mercenary team with heavy weapons to protect the warehouse and his family. Their target is to neutralise Satish's gang and secure the weapons cache in the warehouse.

They have immobilised our backup team with darts. We need ATS commandos here promptly."

Rajit and Monty looked at each other and the single M16 gun they managed to capture from the unconscious guy and a few hand grenades.

Would these be enough?

Granite Warehouse

Govardhan and his five men team slowly climbed the wall and entered the backyard of the warehouse.

The office room was lit but they could not see who was inside due to the dark panes on the windows and doors.

Govardhan found it odd that no one from Satish's gang was guarding the office.

He directed one of his men to position himself near the office door.

In the middle of the backyard, there was a huge crane with a bundle of slabs still attached to its hoist, blocking his view. He walked around it and the rest of his team followed.

As he moved slowly towards the warehouse, he saw two men emerge near the scaffolding at the backend of the warehouse, carrying heavy AK203 guns and cartridges boxes. They walked towards the front entrance where six more were waiting, checking their guns and loading them with cartridges.

Govardhan rued for a moment that even his team did not have those latest guns. He pulled out his thermal vision binoculars to check how many men were still inside the Warehouse.

Thankfully there were only two.

He signalled two of his men to go towards the warehouse while he and two of his best men walked towards the front entrance.

IB Surveillance Hub

Ajit Doval was in the middle of a meeting when he saw Rajiv's message and rushed to the surveillance hub.

The Chief of the surveillance team looked at him grimly.

"Where is the ATS team now?"

"I have alerted them. They are thirty minutes away. Considering the weapons there, there is one more team starting as well. The Local police team is on standby too."

"Please message Rajiv and Monty that their primary target right now is to get Victor's family out of there safely. They are not to engage with DJ or Loki or any of the gang men in any way and leave it all for the ATS commandos."

"I will do sir, but things do not always go as we plan." Chief gave a wry smile and turned towards his team.

Granite Warehouse

Office Room.

Victor moved closer to his family, as he thought of the best escape plan, but everyone's attention was on the security TV's where they could see DJ 's convoy arrive at the gates.

Loki hurried Bunty and his men.

"Bunty! Remember what we discussed earlier? You and one more guy can stay here with me, but ask the rest of your men to go to the front gate right now. This is their chance to avenge Satish's murder."

"Don't worry Loki, I have things under control." Bunty smirked and began to walk towards the door.

But Victor swiftly moved to the entrance of the office room and blocked them all from leaving.

"No one is leaving anywhere till I take my family safely out of this woeful place. Loki, you got what you demanded. I have returned Zoya to you safely. Now it is your turn to keep your word. Let Maa and Di leave, I don't want them to be caught in the war between you two greedy brothers."

Loki pulled out his gun.

"Don't you know by now not to trust any of my words?" Loki smirked as he pointed his gun at Victor and continued, "But yeah trust me when I say this. Unlike last time, I won't hesitate to shoot you to death."

"Loki! No!!" Nirmala shrieked in horror, and rushed to stand in front of Victor.

"Loki Beta, please don't do this!" Suraj Chacha walked towards him and his soft voice irritated Loki even further.

"Chacha I had enough of your moral teachings. One more word and you will regret it forever."

He knew he was channelling his frustration on the wrong person, but as he watched Suraj Chacha's kind face flinch in shock, Loki felt enormous satisfaction.

He gritted his teeth, as he turned his gaze back on Nirmala's teary face and watched her for a long time before lowering his gun..

Zoya fought hard not to roll her eyes. Why do they have to make everything so complicated?

Loki should have shot Victor the moment he entered the warehouse and finished this whole saga!

Victor slowly pulled his mother to his side and said firmly, "Loki, this is between you and me. Tell your men not to touch my family and let them go, including Misha and Jishu. Jishu will drive them back in the truck we came here."

Loki turned around and looked at Zoya standing behind him and gave her a quick wink, before turning back.

"Okay, let everyone go, except your dear sister Arunya. I am not stupid to trust you or your agency, Victor! I bet you have come here with plan B C and D. She is my insurance in case you try to pull something at the last moment. If you don't agree, then everyone stays here in that store room." Loki declared with such finality that Arunya turned towards her mother and begged, "Maa please go. Nothing will happen to me, Chotu will make sure of that. Jishu needs to go to hospital and that poor girl Ayesha is here for no fault of hers. And Misha too."

Nirmala shook her head but Victor smiled at her and gently led her towards the door, "Maa, do you trust me?"

"Of course I do, but... how can I?" Her voice quivered as she looked back at Arunya.

"Jishu, please help Misha" Victor looked pointedly at the sleeping figure in the store room.

Sharmila got up from the sofa, still a bit unsteady, as Jishu helped her walk outside.

As Bunty and his mate Charlie held their guns ready and walked along, everyone left the office room and entered the backyard of the warehouse, where the pickup truck was parked next to the crane. Zoya and Loki were the last to leave.

Charlie was in the front, and he noticed someone in the shadows next to the office room.

Without even blinking an eye, he started shooting randomly at the shadows.

They heard a grunt and rapid gunfire in return.

Suddenly, there was chaos as everyone screamed and ducked for cover.

A rapid spray of bullets hit Charlie while Bunty ran around the crane to hide on the other side.

Jishu helped Ayesha and Nirmala to hide behind the truck, while Suraj Chacha pretended to protect Sharmila as they ran towards the ambulance and hid behind it.

Victor grabbed Arunya's hand and ran fast to hide behind a huge block of granite near the sidewall, as his mind puzzled over who the gunfire was from. He looked around for Rajiv and Monty and noticed them near the sidewall of the office room.

He signalled that one of them should go to the other end, to check the warehouse while the other should stay behind as backup.

Rajiv nodded faintly and began to move along the wall to reach the scaffolding and the warehouse.

Govardhan's team member near the office room door was checking if Charlie was still alive. He kicked Charlie in fury and began to look around for more men from Satish's gang. He could barely see anything because of the crane and he moved forward, keeping an eye on the rest of his team while tying a strap to his injured arm. Seizing this opportunity, Rajiv remained low and ran fast across the backyard to reach the scaffolding and waited behind the cement bags.

Monty tried to come out and join Victor and Arunya but before he could, Loki and Zoya surrounded them and grabbed Arunya's hand. Monty ducked back into the shadows.

Victor thought of pulling out his gun but decided against it. He punched Loki hard in the face, making him lose his grasp over Arunya, but Zoya kicked Victor hard and pulled out her gun.

"No... " Arunya shouted wildly and tried to push Victor aside but they heard more rapid gunfire at the front entrance, followed by explosions.

Panic rose in Loki as he looked at the front entrance and noticed how Satish's men were getting cornered and reduced to few as Govardhan and his team attacked them. He could hear gunfire from the warehouse too.

Sharmila signalled to Suraj Chacha to remain behind the ambulance and she ran towardsLoki and Zoya just as Monty joined her from the other end.

"Loki, this is not time to negotiate. Let's kill this bastard once and for all and put an end to this, before DJ comes." Zoya pulled the safety latch and pointed the gun at the brother sister duo.

Zoya felt it before she could hear it.

Something tiny and hot zapped right past her left ear and she felt unbearable pain as warm blood trickled from her earlobe. She yelped in pain and touched her ear and realised someone shot at her from behind, but made sure it was not fatal.

Sharmila felt immense pleasure at her marksmanship as she saw Zoya's ear turn red, but Monty signalled her to hide behind the ambulance again. Sharmila obeyed and noticed Rajiv moving along the wall at the other end of the warehouse near the scaffolding, with a machine gun in hand.

She tried to ask Monty what was going on, but Monty's eyes were fixed on Zoya as he walked out into the open.

Zoya and Loki turned around to see Monty pointing his gun straight at them.

"You bastard! Who the hell are you?" Zoya tried to raise her gun against Monty but Monty warned her, "Don't even think about it!"as he held his gun firmly and pointed it right at her head.

Zoya looked furiously at Loki, hoping for his support, but Loki shook his head faintly as he began to assess the situation around them. Who else is here with Victor? How did they slip in through the security. Then he remembered the truck. Of course!

There was an eerie calm as all the gunfire stopped.

Within a few moments, they heard the loud clunk as the front metal gate opened and

a large carrier truck entered and stopped near the back entrance of the warehouse. Four men jumped out of the truck. Govardhan's men who were now guarding the weapons in the warehouse pointed them towards the wooden crates inside and the carrier truck went inside the warehouse.

Soon, DJ's convoy of three SUV's entered the warehouse. Govardhan and his team checked for survivors in the yard and tied them up, before joining the convoy.

Govardhan's men near the scaffolding gave a thumbs up to their team leader and Govardhan nodded at them before signalling to one of them to move towards the back wall to keep a watch.

As Loki noticed the way Govardhan and team worked seamlessly with almost military precision, he felt frustrated and mad with fury. Who are these men who appeared out of nowhere? They looked like trained mercenaries.He underestimated his brother's clout and contacts. Everyone from Satish's gang who were guarding the entrance and warehouse seemed to be dead or seriously injured. This was not a contingency he was prepared for. How could he face his brother DJ now?

Slowly, DJ got out of the car and walked towards them, flanked on either side by Govardhan and his team while Sattu and others got out of their respective SUV's.

The trucks and the SUV's along with the Crane and ambulance became a temporary circle of protection around them.

One of Govardhan's guys who was shot initially by Charlie, joined them with a bleeding arm.

Monty tucked his gun in his jacket and helped Suraj Chacha get up from the hiding spot behind the ambulance.

Victor quickly grabbed Arunya's hand and they walked to the middle of the backyard.

Loki and Zoya reluctantly followed them and stood facing DJ.

Loki turned his hateful gaze towards DJ but his big brother didn't seem to bother about him, which made his heart burn with fury and humiliation.

DJ's eyes filled with relief as he noticed Victor and Arunya were unharmed and his eyes searched for Suraj Chacha and Nirmala.

"Maaji, you and your family are safe now. Please come out. I apologise on behalf of my brother and these useless men.Chacha, you too." DJ's grim and loud voice reverberated through the backyard of the warehouse and slowly everyone emerged out of their hiding except Sharmila.

"I think everyone will feel safe after your gunmen and family put their guns down" Victor reminded DJ with a hint of sarcasm.

"Oh Victor....I will give you my word that my men will never harm your family. I promised my mother that I will keep your family safe. As for Loki..."DJ gave a wry smile and continued, "I am sure he understands the consequences of going against my word."

As Nirmala and Ayesha walked out, closely followed by Jishu, DJ turned to them. He could only assume that the frail young man and woman behind Nirmala Ji were some of the captives held by Loki. He folded his hands in respect towards Nirmala before turning his gaze finally towards Loki.

"Do you see these men behind me Loki? They are here to protect me out of their respect and loyalty, which I earned through years of hard work and leadership. And you thought you could just hold me to ransom and steal this from me? I never thought you were such a fool. But as Maa says, you seem to be a totally different person in many respects than what I thought."

"Bhai! I have no time to listen to your lectures." Loki cut him off.

"Oh you do! Do you think you can create all this mayhem out of your stupidity and get away with it?" DJ eyes spitted fire as he looked at the injured and dead members of Satish's gang.

"All these men were loyal to me once. Yes, I had my misunderstanding with Sharath Nair and was not there for him when he needed; but I could have handled the whole crisis on my own, if it was not for your greed and hatred. You brought this upon yourself. And look around you... so many of these guys have paid the price for your stupidity."

Loki heard enough.

He pointed to the warehouse where the men were now loading the wooden crates from the warehouse onto the carrier truck.

"You didn't come here just for me or Victor's family. You are more interested in saving crores worth of the arms and weapons you have stored here"

DJ's face darkened but Loki couldn't care less.

"Come off your high horse for once and talk like a real guy, will you? Everything and everyone has a price. How much did you pay this guy to come and help you today?" Loki pointed at Govardhan and continued, "I had a good plan but I wasn't prepared for a gorilla mercenary team who can kill 20 people in ten minutes.If you think that these people have come to defend you out of loyalty, you are a bigger fool than I am. They fear and hate you but they have been programmed from their childhood to follow your orders and they know too well what happens to them if they go against you. Everyone saw how you shot Satish in broad daylight, right? So, this benevolent leader image that you are trying to pull off... please save it for your faithfuls in Dhaula Kuan. If you had been a bit more relaxed and given me some freedom to run things on my own, none of this would have happened. "

His mobile rang just then. He loudly greeted the caller and asked him to hurry up before cutting the call and continued, "Still... nothing is over yet, as you very well know."

Loki's wide smile made him look malevolent and DJ realised for the first time what his mother meant. He decided not to prolong this argument among the current audience.

DJ forced a smile on his face," Well.. we will leave our family disputes for later,"and turned towards Nirmala "but first I must make sure Victor's family is out of here safely."

DJ watched Suraj Chacha leaning on Monty and wondered who Monty was, but he put aside his curiosity and asked.

"Chacha, are you okay? I am so sorry for all the trouble you have been through.."

"DJ Beta, I am fine. you have arrived just in time and saved everyone here." Suraj Chacha's voice was filled with sincerity.

Jishu watched the respect and affection DJ was showing towards Nirmala Aunty and Suraj Chacha and felt as if he was in some surreal world. How could a ruthless and undisputed emperor of the most heinous and dangerous mafia be so respectful and affectionate towards some people? Or is this all part of an act, trying to save face against his brother who is out for his blood? His heart was filled with loathing and fury towards DJ and before he lost his control and made this situation worse, he thought it would be better to leave.

"Maaji, please take my car or any car here and go home along with your family. Chacha, come on, let us go home." DJ offered.

Govardhan looked at Monty and Sharmila in confusion. How many people did Loki actually kidnap? Is Victor the only IB agent here?

Still, they don't have much time. Very soon IB will realise that their agents are unreachable and will send another team to rescue or replace them.

"DJ, we need to leave quickly. When we arrived we had to neutralise four IB agents who were hiding in the bushland behind this warehouse." Govardhan warned.

DJ looked suspiciously at Jishu and Monty but controlled himself.

"Aunty, we can go in this truck, " Jishu offered and helped Nirmala and Ayesha climb into the front seat of the pickup truck. Monty opened the back flap and Sharmila jumped straight on the cargo bed at the back of the truck.

Govardhan and his team along with DJ moved back towards the crane, as they tried to make way for the truck to reverse.

Zoya looked at Loki furiously as she watched Monty climb the truck. Why is Loki not doing anything? How can he let the guy who shot at her go scot free!!

Loki briefly glanced at the driver's seat of the crane and the pile of granite slabs still attached to its hoist and Zoya's irritation melted away. Of course they have a backup plan. Her face relaxed a little and she too observed the crane more closely.

Suraj Singh walked towards one of the SUV's parked next to the crane just as Arunya began to walk towards the pickup truck.

Knowing that his sister would not be able to climb the truck on her own, Victor offered, "Di, I will help you." He reached the back of the truck and pulled down a heavy box so that Arunya could use it as a step and climb onto the cargo bed of the truck.

There was a roar of a motor and the Crane came to life. Bunty was in the driver's seat and he released the hoist and let the slabs of granite fall onto two men from Govardhan's team who were standing right under it.

Govardhan's sharp reflexes weren't enough as he watched his men crush under tonnes of Granite. He rushed towards them but he couldn't lift that heavy slab.

From his high vantage point, Bunty then opened his M16 and began to shoot like a maniac at DJ's men and Govardhan's rest of the team. Govardhan realised the two men crushed under granite were beyond help and shielded DJ. He rushed DJ to run away from the crane towards the warehouse while other members of his team tried to shoot at Bunty.

Sattu and a few others hid behind the SUV's.

Suraj Singh pulled Arunya towards the SUV and helped her fall back against it, protecting her from the volley of bullets coming from the crane.

Bunty didn't stop there. He moved the crane around and pulled up his grenade launcher and targeted Govardhan's men positioned near the back wall first and then the scaffolding near the back of the warehouse.

An enormous explosion hit them from both ends as the walls crumbled and scaffolding collapsed halfway.

Rajiv felt the impact of the explosion right behind him but thankfully the cement and sand bags offered the much needed protection.

He tried to get up from his hiding spot, but Govardhan's team were still there near the scaffolding and then a moment later he saw Govardhan and DJ running towards his end.

Victor shouted hoarsely for everyone to stay put as he pulled out his gun, ran haphazardly to miss the volley of bullets from Bunty's M16 and aimed his gun at Bunty.
