SLEEP TALK (PETER)
Wade paced back and forth on the street below the apartment that Peter shared with his Aunt May, staring up at the open window he knew led to Peter's room. They'd had a horrible fight earlier that night over something stupid. Really it had just been Wade overreacting to the state that Peter had gotten himself in on his last mission and he had come home battered and bruised and Wade had, had to stitch his wounds and be there when Peter had nightmares and it really hadn't gone down well with the hero. [That's an understatement! We really screwed up this time!] Yellow commented.
"I know!" Wade snapped, rubbing a hand over his face as he returned to his pacing.
{There's no guarantee he'll even want to see us!}
"I have to try," Wade mumbled, "He looked torn apart when I said I was leaving."
[He probably hates us now.]
Wade sighed, shaking his head, "I know."

Wade climbed in through the open window being careful not to knock anything off the cluttered desk as he stepped onto it, dropping lightly into the room. His eyes instantly found the sleeping form of Peter, smiling to himself at the sight of the smaller male curled up against his pillow cuddling it to his chest, his brown hair in complete disarray. A pang of guilt shot through him however when he noticed Peter's cheeks were tear stained and his eyelids were red and puffy. "He cried himself to sleep..." Wade mumbled, biting his lower lip with a frown.
[We did this to him. We broke our baby boy.]
Wade nodded in agreement, doubting whether his decision to come here was a good idea anymore. "Maybe we should leave?"
{Don't be a coward! We owe him an apology at least!}
Wade nodded again, stepping further into the room, freezing as his feet knocked against a Lego structure of a Death Star sending it scattering across the floor in pieces causing Peter to frown and mumble in his sleep as he shifted, tightening his hold on his pillow. "Wade..." Wade rose an eyebrow, staring at the smaller male worried that he had woken him up with the noise he had made, smiling to himself when he heard the soft snores escaping Peter's lips. He moved closer to the edge of the bed careful not to knock any of the broken pieces of the Death Star and make more noise that could wake up his boyfriend, sitting down behind the other male. Reaching over, he ran his fingers lightly through Peter's hair laughing softly as Peter shifted closer to his pillow, tightening his hold on it, "I love you baby." Peter mumbled.
Wade laughed softly to himself as he removed his hoodie, shoes and jeans dropping them onto the floor before he climbed into bed beside Peter, wrapping his arms around the smaller male's waist pulling him against his chest. Peter turned waking up just enough to cuddle up to Wade's side clinging onto the mercenary's shirt. "Don't leave..." Wade shook his head, mumbling as he played with Peter's hair, "I won't baby boy."
Peter smiled sleepily, "I need you here."
"I'm staying. I mean you look too adorable when sleeping." Wade teased, kissing the hero on the forehead. Peter shifted leaning his head on Wade's chest, curling up against Wade's side causing the mercenary to chuckle softly. "You move any closer and you'll be on my lap."
"Mm," Peter hummed, "so warm... I'm so lucky."
Wade grinned rubbing a hand up and down Peter's spine as he continued to play with his hair feeling ecstatic that Peter wasn't too upset with him to kick him out of the bed or worse his room. He stared down at the smaller male, believing that he had fallen back asleep until Peter frowned and muttered, "I'm sorry Wade. I hurt you."
Wade froze, his muscles tensing as he shook his head. 'He thinks he did something.'
[That's our baby. Always blaming himself even when we were the one being an ass.]
"Shhh, be quiet Pete...go to sleep." He whispered. "We'll talk about it in the morning." Peter nodded mumbling incoherently as he fell back to sleep, snoring softly again in seconds. The mercenary smiled, pulling the hero closer to him, rubbing a hand against his spine.
[Aww he's so cute!] Yellow squealed.
"I know." Wade whispered to his boxes, not wanting to wake Peter up again.
{We're lucky to have him.} White commented, happily.
"Yeah."
"No," Peter mumbled, shifting around on the bed as he slept, "I don't lay eggs. The spider bite didn't do that." Wade couldn't help it. He burst out laughing, struggling to stifle his loud giggles with his hand as he tilted his head back against the pillow as Peter fell off the bed in surprise with a loud cry of sheer terror which was followed up with a loud, "OW!" Wade giggled, peering over the edge of the bed to stare at the hero momentarily, "Don't lay an egg!" Peter shot his boyfriend a dark look as he climbed back onto his feet, rubbing his hip as he sat back on the bed beside the still laughing Wade. Peter smirked, grabbing his pillow and started to hit Wade repeatedly with it. "Will you shut up?!" He grumbled in a hushed voice as he smacked the pillow against his boyfriend's face again.
"Abuse!" Wade cried out, holding out an arm to deflect the pillow so that he could grab it from Peter's grasp. "I'm calling ChildLine!" Peter rolled his eyes, leaning down to kiss Wade softly, smiling fondly at the other male, "Shut up, you dork. I'm tired." Wade grinned pulling Peter back down on top of him, returning the pillow back to its position behind their heads as he wrapped his arm around Peter's waist. "I'm never letting that go, baby boy. Never." Wade chuckled, humming a song until both he and Peter finally fell back asleep.
