It's now been 3 years since Spiderman was last seen.
The entire city by then had accepted the fact that he wasn't coming back and it tore their hearts at that revelation.
But it tore Jameson the most. He knew that he was the reason why Spiderman quit and now because of him New York may never recover.
Crimes are still on the rise and no one comes out during the night any more, who would when thats when crimes are at its peak and the friendly neighbour Spidey is no longer here.
Even the heros gave up after 2 years. They had to accept it. He wasn't coming back.

Now and then people would wonder what happend to him or go find him with the hashtag find Spidey to announce it and sometimes form groups (AN: the hashtag part wasn't my idea but from another book I read a long time ago)
A funeral wasn't held though. They refuse to believe he was dead, he just quit. Simple.

And Peter? He's having the normal life he wanted. College, girlfriend, exams whatever you call a normal teenage experience he finally got it.

It still didn't stop him from feeling guilty time to time though. He knows that countless people might if been killed, raped, ruined, robbed ever since he put down his suite for good. But they brought this upon themselves. Still, he missed the feeling of swinging through the city and the rush of adrenalin he would get from it.

But little did Peter know that Spiderman will have to come out of retirement soon when a new villain terrorize the planet and all heros will be needed to stop it. Spiderman the most.
